Hydroquinone is a very interesting ingredient that many are not using correctly. HQ prefers to be in a lower PH environment. If you apply something acidic to your skin prior to the hydroquinone, it will penetrate deeper and not oxidize so quickly. Sometimes Ill even mix my HQ with my glycolic cream or apply my Vitamin C serum first then immediately apply HQ. Want me to do a very in-depth hydroquinone application video? Omgosh! Pigmentation and Melasma IS my issue!! Thank you! I had just started using lactic acid and retin A w my Hydroquinone! My skin is a little sensitized right now but it’s definitely made a difference! This was SO helpful to hear this! 👏🏻😍🎉

Glad I found this video. I literally just got a prescription for hydroquinone today . I was using it before and my skin just went back to how it was😐 when I went in break from it. I’m gonna try mixing with vitamin C oil and hydroquinone together

Hi Cody, as a woman of color, which would be better to use on top of the hydroquinone 4%, vitamin A or vitamin C for hyperpigmentation. Also, what is your take on microneedling with the hydroquinone. Thank you.

Omg i cant believe i have only just now found you. How dis youtube hide you from me so long! So i was watching this viveo thinking Yaaaasssss. I use a glycolic pad first just for kicks the um spascriptions glacier water ones. Then ill use the exuvience glycolic THEN ill use the glycolic mix with a pha and lactic. And then ill go in with a lactic with liquorice and one without. THEN ill either do the estee lauder serum or the exuvience restorative creme. And even without hydraquinone this has helped my mild melasma. Although not near as much as that caudalie vinoperfect serum. That has some kind of magic faerie shit in it by the cost but it works. Anyway just love your vids. Love your personality. Keep sharing your bright soul and beautiful smile!!

OMG Cody when you talk about all the BS online you are not kidding Honey. That's why I just listen to you :-))))) I guess about 1 1/2 years ago you told me about putting skincare products under the Retin A or Retinol (which I now use) and nobody had told me about that. The way you say it the Retin A or Retinol pushes the other ingredients deeper into the skin. And you're right of course. Another great video and are you ready for Christmas? We had our tree up and thank God we didn't decorate it yet. Five kittens decided to climb it and they were all on the top of it like the angel you put on top. I was only out of the room 5 minutes, came back, saw all of them on the top, I screamed.......they all ran and took the tree down with them dragging it behind them. We are going to have to think of another way to get our tree up and kitten-proof it. Love ya bunches Honey! XOXOXOXOXOXO

Unfortunately it’s no longer available due to the new regulations. Hydroquinone is only prescribed now. 2% is what we had and is a good start. You don’t need to take a break but it’s good from time to time to do so. Thank you for asking and having interest

How many hrs leave on my face or can I sleep with a night?
2 weeks after using hydroquinone 6%..part of kligmann formula.....I'm still having skin irritation...is it normal??
I’ve heard that Hydroquinone makes pigmentation darker? Should I stop using it if that happens or continue using it and wait for it to fade?
It depends on how it’s used, percentage and your skin. Some are sensitive to it, if you notice darkening even with proper sunscreen use, it may be a sign to stop. Using a retinoid helps greatly to repair and often can be used in addition or is formulated together for the most effectiveness
Can this be done twice a day or only in the evening? Because hydroquinone is recommended to be used both during the day and at night but glycolic acid (or any bhas) and retinol ( or any retinoic acids) are recommended to be only used at night. How do I make hydroquinone work better during the day as well?
It’s best to go with what your provider recommends, maybe if you’re starting new, nighttime first is an option. As long as you’re applying a generous amount of spf in the end of day routine, you’re off to a great start for the am. Apply all over and not just on spots and let it absorb before next layer of product.
Would you recommend using mandelic acid beforehand as well?

Hi. My dermatologist gave me a compounded cream with HQ 8%, retin A, kojic acid and niancimides. I tried it for 2 days and my skin is red. Am afraid to continue. I have age spots and some melasma. Light skin with 10% African genes. Is the redness normal?
Hi, yes redness is normal but maybe try talking to your provider to see about adjusting to be careful with not causing too much inflammation. That’s quite a high percentage.
What about hq and ochronosis?
Wait, can I use Latic acid @ 15%, then hydroquinone @ 4%, then use Tretinonin .01? It seems like it'll be really irritating if i try it the way, but i have a spot on my forehead that I've been trying to get rid of for years and it some things may work for a little while, but then the spot will get dark again and even darker than before.... I'm a black woman and extremely frustrated with my melanin production lol
That’s tough to say as I’m not a physician and can’t direct with topical medication but it’s something that is possible depending on one’s tolerance, condition, and formulation. Often leveling up and giving the skin a little push helps but starting slow is always safe with your skin type. You can slowly test and experiment. Continue to be very cautious and mindful of spf protection.

Hi I would not suggest that as the components in lemon can be too much or acidic for the skin and create adverse reactions. It’s not suitably made and better to use products safely formulated to benefit
When should I put on moisturiser? After these 3 steps?
You can leave it as is if your skin feels fine. The products I’m using have hydration in there so it doesn’t feel necessary. If you wish to use a light moisturizer you can do this after vitamin c and Hydroquinone, before retinol

You can use your serums in the morning as you have written out then hydroquinone at night. Go from lightest in consistency to heaviest, and most acidic to least with order.

Yes that sounds fine, you may also get a 2nd opinion with your provider if it’s prescribed

Yes typically those work great together. Applying hydroquinone then retinol would be a good start.

Yes, vitamin C is often packaged with vitamin E and freulic acid. Just make sure you use your water based products first before applying oil based ones.
You can use them layered or if it’s in a formula together that is fine. As long as your skin approves.

Hi this is a great question, it is possible and depends on your tolerance. It’s a nice advanced combo for sure. I and many clients will do both.

That does seem fine as long as you haven’t had a negative history in the past or seeing it worsen with use. You must apply a good amount of spf on your legs as well.

This varies depending on your skin and Hq percentage. At least 3 times is great but would be best to consult with a physician as it is now a medicine.

You've got awfully gorgeous skin & you dumping that quino stuff will it make your skin white white & paper thin?
I find it to be more so beneficial doing it this way and have not seen those side effects but will continue to stay cautious
