Got this review sent from a friend this is a well reviewed item from yourself and done really well .Thank you for the review this has helped me make a decision.
About the front knob design, I bought the Q3 Pro 3 months after this video, they fixed the problem about those knobs but they also made the visoring up feature almost impossible, it doesn't go up smoothly anymore and is much harder to do, still think it's very much worth it.
Great review. I'm using the new Kiwi H4 which also has a similar depth adjustment on the side panels, it doesn't have any sprocket teeth but it stays firmly in place somehow.
Hey. Great work - really like your videos. I just took off the facial on Bobo S3 on my quest like you have here. It is really nice when you, as me, prefer to use passthrough. I almost chose the Kkcobvr q3 pro. Went for Bobo s3 . Will most likely get the kkcobvr for the quest 4. Really nice to be able to lift the front up and the distance wheel also.
I use prescription lenses and I can feel the lenses on my eyebrow. If I want to have the screen further away it will cover the speakers so that no good. I have been happy about the Bobo s3 but at this point I would have liked the kkcobvr q3 pro better I think.
I picked one of those up, £35 delivered. It was a great upgrade over the BOBVR M3 Pro, with a bigger battery that copes with the drain better too, keeping the headset over 90% until it's depleted. A no brainer as I already had another battery for my Pico 4.
Wow. In depth. I watched and read a few reviews for this head strap, but this one sold me. I've never tried a halo head strap. I don't care for the facial pressure of elites. We'll see how it goes.
I was really torn between the BOBOVR S3 Pro and the Kiwi H4 Boost, but after watching your detailed review I decided to purchase the KKCOBVR Q3 Pro . Thank you.
Very useful video! It’s somewhat similar to the design of BOBO. I own the Sonicgrace S3 battery head strap, and honestly, I really like the design of the interchangeable battery pack.
Thanks for the review!) You helped me figure out that I really need this strap, and specifically variant without the battery. The plan is to butcher my Quest Pro to finally make it comfortable, and to use its own battery for the counterballance and a bigass powerbank in my pocket for extra power)
I take that back specifically about the battery-free version being just as good. Even if the battery is kinda meh and I'm not going to use it, the battery-less version lacks ANY padding at the back or the top strap. The back is just cast rubber of some kind, and top strap is plain flat. Also, the cable clip isn't included. The front is properly padded though, so I kept it for now, to get used to it and in case I butcher it while experimenting)
@@SunnyOhm Yes, non Pro version is worse in many aspects, however top strap is useless for most people, because the whole point of halo strap is to not have to use the top one. The back padding is bigger issue, but for me in many head straps it's not bad when padding there is missing. Version for Vision Pro also doesn't have back-padding.
I have this head strap in the battery-free version and my opinions coincide with yours. The concept is good but the implementation of the two sliding wheels is poorly implemented, the wheels would have to remain in the desired positions and the connection tape would also have to guarantee that the display would remain in the chosen location. As it is, we can't keep the Q3 in the correct position when we don't use the facial interface. I use the head strap with the Globular Cluster facial interface and comfort is reasonable but not perfect exactly due to the 2 implementation defects described. I have already ordered and am waiting for the Globular Cluster head strap to be delivered to see if I can finally get the comfort I need. I only use the Q3 in simracing (with cable) and comfort is as important as the performance of the Q3. Thank you very much for your reviews, they are always very detailed and cover what is really important.
Just a question, I have been looking on the strap, the exact same strap as you have, and I was wondering how good the strap is to take off weight from your face, even though it doesn't have like the counterweight of that magnetic battery, and how good padding is and if it's really a good buy for like $25.
Really enjoyed the video. I received mine, but I find it very stiff to move the facial interface like you do at 7:50. There are individual notches that it moves through when it moves up and down. Has anyone else found similar? Trying to move my facial interface up and down tends to move the strap that connects it to my head a fair bit so when I move it back down I find it doesnt move to exactly where it was sitting and I have to play around with it a bit. Getting it to move down an equal number of notches on left and right joints is difficult. I am thinking that this is still the best compromise for what I want. I found the Kiwi H4 Boost quite hard to play games like Walkabout golf where you are constantly looking down, but really liked them for watching movies and AR. This does seem to give the ability to make it like an elite strap OR a halo strap which I really like.
I wonder if u got a dud battery… I have owned bobo and this one. I kept the kkcob one cause it was lighter and more comfortable. When I play pcvr virtual desktop. I can fully discharge battery and quest be on 90 percent battery. And swop to second one it go back to 93 oercent while playing! For me the battles perform equal to bobo or slightly better from my in game test. Sometimes I use mixed reality watching stuff in vr content or video playback then it goes down faster. But bobo performed the same in that aspect to :)
Battery from Kkcobvr even officially is only 15W and testing a battery performance on VD is pointless. When you render games on PC instead of Quest, of course every head strap will perform similar. Dedicated hardware should be used to measure exactly how battery work. Otherwise, you may draw incorrect conclusions.
At 18.37 , when you're talking about how it dips downwhen you move? Mine is the opposite, really stiff and clicky. Definitely don't need the grey velcro to hold it
nice review; i just received mine, can i charge the battery while using the battery with the Quest? And whats the best way to charge the battery after use? leave it on the quest while charging?
Manual says that you can charge the battery while it's still connected to the Quest, which is strange, because usually it's not possible and it's not explained if it's a pass-through or just charging the Quest from the battery. So hard to say if it's better to charge them like always - separate or not.
I just bought it after watching your great review. But mine can't do the flip-up motion like you did in 7:49. The joints are too stiff. Did they change their product? And the battery still produces a buzzing noise while being used, and it's actually noticeable even when watching movies with a moderate volume. On another note, will you be releasing the review of their k3 facial interface anytime soon. I'm currently looking for a new facial interface and waiting for your review of that one. You recommended the globular cluster to use with this strap but they don't sell it in my country and the import fees are too high.
In mine I have never noticed buzzing, but maybe I just don't hear this frequency anymore. However as far as I know if it's buzzing, you can send them email and they will send different backplate. Review of the K3 is in progress, but I still need more time. However it's a good product.
I have the same problem with mine on the “flip-up” motion. It has way too mention tension/ratcheting and can be forced but is practically useless. I’ve seen two reviews show it as a smooth motion so I think they’ve changed the model and I’ll be trying to return mine. I found, even with no facial interface I couldn’t even get convincing clearance between the quest and the forehead part of the strap.
I use the KKCOBVR for my Apple Vision Pro, and it works very well. While I run the AVP barefaced with Immersed, I don't do that with the Quest 3, so I don't think there would be any advantage for me to switch to it for Quest 3 from the S3 Pro.
I was surprised seeing that the AVP version doesn't have any cushion or honeycomb silicon pad in the back. But it's probably still one of the best head straps for Apple's headset.
i have kkcobvr q3 pro, and yesterday i discovered there is KKCOBVR K3 fan. i was thinking this thing is too expensive (~$45), but unexpectedly stumbled upon it on sale for $28, which is ok i guess. wanted to wait for summer (it've been ~36 celsius for whole two months this summer in Kursk, Russia), but for this money i ordered it right away. i'll share my opinion if you want, when i get it (~5days) p.s. side knobs are not that loose on mine. i'm not able to move googles in those grooves by applying force like you do
Yes, you can share your first impressions. I am testing this facial interface with fan from Kkcobrv, and a review will be on this channel next month. About knobs - are you referring to any position? Because on mine in some it's not moving, and this problem so many users have, that's issue with quality, or quality control.
