If you are a fan of Sony’s 3D Sound and are ok with chat/game balance being handled by the system this is a great setup tutorial 👍🏾… But if you want the full sound and capabilities of the headset, the HDMI adapter from Astro is still your best option. I personally find the 7.1 Dolby Surround Sound option to be a more immersive and fuller sound experience.
This is what my question was. My adapter broke and so I'm stuck just plug and play. But is there a difference in sound? They couldn't replace or fix my adapter and I don't wanna put out another 70$. But I'm finding it hard to hear in games that rely on sound.
@@deadchamber Do you have all settings outputting sound to the Astro headset? Do you have chat audio or all audio going to the headset? Also, make sure the 3D sound tab is turned and choose the linear PCM option for output. You should only have Dolby or DTS selected if you have an HDMI/Optical connection. Hopefully those adjustments help you out a little bit.
@@MoeSizlak had it set on Dolby instead of Linear. Just switched. 3D audio is enabled and it's outputting All Audio. It's more of the fact that my friends can hear enemies approaching in games that rely on sound, meanwhile I can't. And they're using basic 100$ headsets. @@expreet what are you using to record your gameplay & audio? Are you referring to PlayStation's video capture built into the PS5? Or are you using an elgato and recording from your PC?
Your missing the whole point of the adapter. The adapter let’s you get analog audio which is far superior sound and gives you all the EQs and presets. Trust me the difference in audio quality is night and day difference. For a $300 headset you want to get the best out of it
You're probably right! I'm not the main user of these headphones... I had read that these headphones did not work at all without some sort of adapter... I'm Not an audio engineer, but I did record music and learned how to listen to the smallest details in noises/voices to master the songs. Going from -100 to plus 100 or left and right. 3D PS5 Audio does gives you that experience, but not as clean as Dolby surround. Best to go with the adapter... Easy to set up. good video tho.
Bro can I just say I started to tell you that you was full if shit it’s not working. But I was wrong. This reason I found you is because I had a weird crackling sound in my head set. I had one of those converters connected and that’s where the crackling came in. This head set is weird it won’t charge connected to ps5 or charging it with a wall brick. Safe to say plug and play does work just fine sounds amazing and my crackling sound is gone. I really believe Astro now Logitech updated and didn’t saying anything.
This is what I’m looking to do for now. My question is: on USB alone, are they quiet, loud, somewhere in between? I know they’re not known for being loud to begin with. Good video btw.
For some reason it seems low on the volume end. Like borderline disappointing and feels like they'd be fine in a quiet room. I have a few fans in the room- it's hot 😅
Connect headset and base station to a pc, go into the Astro command center, then select the "stream port" tab and turn off all volume sliders except the microphone. This will solve the problem as it will just send your voice over the channel. Also make sure the base station is set to pc when connected to PS5.
Do you know why my left side of the headset has a beeping noise? Like its very soft but annoying and it dont go away. Brand new out of the box and has that noise

I have the Astro adapter but I put everything just like the astros 50 shows me and my tv is on but it won’t read the hdmi cable and I actually bought a 100$ hdmi cable and it still doesn’t work

BUT, If you want to use the a50’s to it’s full potential, use the Dolby surround sound setting and the actual presets on the headset you need an audio extractor. The sound, sounds way better when plugged in through optical cable/hdmi 2.1. Now the Astro adapter the company sells max’s out at 4K/60hz that’s an L for ps5 users. So you’d need to buy a $120 AVSTAR Audio extractor to achieve 4k/120hz while achieving the highest sound quality possible. Insane right?? I know it’s horrible these prices are crazy! I just wanted to spread some knowledge because I’m currently in this situation and just purchased the new extractor after wasting $50+ on the astro one after using this method shown in the video for some time now. Again, the method shown in the video isn’t bad and gives semi good results but for the price of $300+ for a headset your not achieving the sound quality you deserve by only using USB connectivity. The base station is useless with this method..
I just bought this whole setup too. Thanks for the info on the AVSTAR audio extractor. I think I will run this setup for a few days and then return it. I think I'll pickup a PS5 Inzone or just a cheaper setup alltogether because all these cables and hoops is just BS for this much money.
