vSpy vSpy, also known as The Drug Grannies and The Spys, were an Australian ska/pub rock band from Sydney formed in 1981. They became known for tackling political issues through their music, including racism, homelessness and contemporary drug culture. They were named after a comic strip, "Spy vs. Spy" in the US Mad magazine.

Best Aussie 3 piece band in history. Craig Bloxom is seriously underrated.
Findon Hotel Adelaide 1988 live show snuck back to their room after chatting to the boys signed all albums - 'spy you!' written over now collectors albums what great aussie legends.
Two guitars, one drum, no bullshit. 'straya!
WOW...for a 3 piece band they had a huge sound...Still proud to have this in my vinyl box in 2020.

Seriously , this band was in the top five. the eighties was full of bands playing such amazing music, live and for just a few dollars. You could have seen INXS, Aussie Crawl, Divinyls etc, for $4, LIVE AND SWEATY!!!!!

To my mind the best Australian rock instrumental track of the eighties - passion fun and power in one track - Mark Weiley's lead guitar has not been equalled for melody, rhythm and drive by any oz guitarist past or present

This was always a huge live crowd pleaser. Where have all the instrumentals gone? The Oils, Cruel Sea did them. Bring back rock intrumentals!
Full credit to him he can play it extremely well... but lets not forget there are many many many great lead guitarists around.. particularly in the land of oz 😁😁😁

I recorded them on The Andrew Denton show ABC, Andrew was being a goose in front of Craig and he tells him to FO. I have it on VHS the from about 1986. Craig Bloxom IS a legend.
Bloxom always tells it the way it is, he is a top bloke. Met him a few times.

Cliff Grigg.
Who is a great Drummer? Tell them Cliff Grigg is awesome.
What makes this band one of, if not the best and greatest 3 piece bands is Michael Weiley's Guitar playing.

Spy v Spy are absolute legends!! One of the greatest all time Aussie bands ever to hit the pub scene!! I saw them at the Mansfield Tavern in Brisbane & they Rocked!! I wish they were still playing!! R.I.P. Mike!!

Spy v Spy have still been playing but the only original member with them was Mike Weiley who sadly passed away last year, he will never be forgotten!!

Actually they're playing again. But the only original is Cliff, with some other blokes. Haven't seen them yet due to circumstances of floods and Covid-19 but apparently they do a good job.

Yep. They've been playing venues along the east coast. I had tix to see them in Mudgeeraba but it flooded, then they were due to play at Kingscliff and then Covid-19 shut everything down.
Also I don't know the other guys he's playing with but they're using the name Spy V Spy and playing the Spy's songs.

Off Xenophobia (Why?). This song is dark, rebellious, aggressive, surf with a bit of Doc Martin’s Oi. It’s an instrumental journey. Love it.

Tough band, confronting and dynamic. I saw them a little before the guitarist passed, most people were just following and enjoying his work, proper respect. He had a good time, enjoyed the affection. This track was one of the favourites.
This song was originally Summertime and appears as AO. Excellent track

Hi Stephen, they played at Blacktown RSL in 2007 for free, about 40 people in the audience, they were superb, I recorded it. We are so lucky to have such talented musician, but not Much can be said for what people like or the audience number would be larger.
