- vSpy vSpy were one of Australia's great political rock bands who were never afraid of speaking out and taking a stand. This song, Credit Cards, is a live favourite and one of the greats.

Without a doubt the greatest 3 piece this country has ever produced. To this day everyone that I introduce to this band loves them.

Yep, you are spot-on with that comment. However, I did a bit of research and what I've discovered is (1) Blox ended up as a Chef or Cook in either a Club or a Hospital. He also makes bass guitars and sells them online. (2) The original drummer is playing with a bunch of guys under a similar name. Unfortunately, they are mediocre at best and the lead singer should be in a heavy-metal / thrash group, or something. That Blox is no longer playing professionally is such a shame and a huge loss to the Aussie Music industry. His performance on stage, his vocals, his lyrics, his playing, just his presence........ was the best I've ever seen. But if rumours are correct, he's now got a ladle in his hand instead of a bass guitar pick.

If anyone asks you who a great Bass player is, then you can look them in the eye and say
CRAIG BLOXOM. The rhythm and the power of Craig's playing drove the band along with the Drumming if
Cliff Grigg.
Who is a great Drummer? Tell them Cliff Grigg is awesome.
What makes this band one of, if not the best and greatest 3 piece bands is Michael Weiley's Guitar playing. RIP MIchael

A friend of mine called Harry Brus was a great Bass player back then .,he worked with Kevin Borich and many overseas Artists as well

nope social issues in AU, nothing to do with The Church fan taste. Everything they did was a social issue, Tear it Down, Sally Anne and this.

I see 3 shows of spyvs spy, one in metropolitan, the people invade the house because there were no more tickets, and the other in circo voador, the third i don remenber, i watch all the australian music from the time, hodoo gurus, midnight oil, men at work, gang gajang, autralian crown... was the best time of my life, only surf and australian musics !!!

Seen this Band over a Hundred times at the Stardust Hotel were they were regulars, and other Pubs around Sydney ,along with many great Aussie Bands in the late 70s and 80s ,even had a stint with Mushroom Records in Melb as a Light Guy in the early 80s ,Sydney had many great Venues back then

I listened to this song so much through my Technics system and its brilliant,the reality of this song is so true and now the debt age is upon us and before to long ownership will be obsolete and yes the silver lining is to be debt free and do not borrow in an uncertain future of liberalists ripping us off even bloody more than you could ever comprehend.
Late discovery of the Spy’s for me, Mikes guitar work is mesmerising on almost all the songs I’ve listened to. My age, Hard Times got air play, a few videos on Late night music shows. Wish they got more air time.

Very relevant today. I was very lucky to see this band many times but I can distinctly remember when they did their first show with the new drummer and their sound changed dramatically. The original trio were magnificent live.

Here we are…2023…I was lucky enough to see (sneak into venues underaged) the Spies at a few local venues Canberra in the late 80’s…I was a massive metalhead/into extreme bands…and heavy metal music…Spies were a level above at the time, best OZ live music I’ve ever witnessed, had to be there, in their prime👍🏻

Ouço V. Spy V. Spy desde a década de 90, quando eu os conheci. Eu os considero a melhor banda australiana e logo depois Australian Crawl, Hoodoo Gurus e Midnight Oil. Parando pra pensar, as bandas brasileiras e australianas da década de 80 eram fodas demais!!! Bons tempos!

I saw these guys once live but it was in my younger days and i was so drunk i cant remember the concert the stupid things we do when we are young what an underated band they were i bought 2 albums i wish we still had bands like this take me back to the count down days musics pretty much gone to crap

Does anyone know where that really good live version went? I hope it wasnt deleted or made private because that was the best version of this song. Mikes guitar really jumps out in that version. I think Craigs wearing like a sleeveless jean jacket in it as well.
