FearlessAstridHofferson yeah because some people are like Astrid was just created for a romantic relationship for Hiccup but I think she was created to add a strong female role model for girls. I mean Ruffnut was also created to add more female characters, but she has her own unique flare. Also Astrid and Hiccup really didn't start dating until the second movie and even then they both played a significant role in the movie. Hiccup found his mother while Astrid confronted Drago.
FearlessAstridHofferson I know I love Ruffnut especially her relationship with her brother. I'm I twin so I can relate with them except we don't look alike and she's a girl. I also love RTTE it give so much insight to all the characters from HTTYD while adding new elements and dragons all the time can't wait for HTTYD The Hidden World.

Also I think they made Stoick phrase his line in a way that would make sense to the story but also serve as a nice final goodbye to the character. Since it would kinda suck if his last lines in the story were "you're gonna kill them all, son" or something like that. It's a final tribute to Stoick the Vast

With regard to Stoick's line, I felt that Stoick meant it in a murder-y way, but Hiccup does have a history of warping the intended meanings of things Stoick says. I think this is just another case of that.
OTP? Hmmm. I have a few. Not sure which ones I would rank in 1st place. Probably Hiccstrid. Alternatively, Marinette and Adrien from Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir.

What confused me is that in the first movie stoic believed humans and dragons would never live in peace. This leads me to believe that hiccups flashback is a fake memory, a lot of our memories are manipulated by our brain to form false truths, it may also make memories that never happened in the first place. I mean i can barely remember what i had for dinner last night, nevermind what someone said to me when i was 1y old. Our brains are malleable, it's absolutely natural to have fake memories...But remember, it's just a theory... A film theory.

The thing you aren't taking into account is a ten year gap. Remember, he did marry Valka. Even ignoring that, HTTYD1 makes it clear that for the last few years the dragon attacks have gotten worse and worse over the years. His plan wasn't even genocide of the dragons - it was to destroy the nest and force them elsewhere.
Stoick didn't think humans and dragons could live together. He hated dragons and thought they were beasts. "Kill on sight" essentially. But, I think it's clear he would never have done anything to him if they didn't raid his island. That's just how it is.
Stoick enjoys battle so he loved fighting and killing the things. He's a fierce, viking warrior after all. But he prefers peace.
And that makes sense when you think about it. The moment he saw peace was truly possible with the Queen's death? He integrated them into his society and lived in peace with them. Stoick understands, he's no fool. He's stubborn as hell. Reckless as hell. And he's got a temper to boot. But, he's no fool.
Are you sure that isn’t like real old hiccup telling his son to go find were the dragon are to bring them back when the hunters are gone

The full trailer is amazing! The scene where Hiccup gets knocked off of Toothless reminds me of the first flight with Astrid.
After watching this I saw a new trailer as an ad on the next video so........I’ll be excited For that in 3 weeks
Not going to lie i really love the irl videos more than the avatar over the video, you can combine both maybe but you feel much more natural and funnier in real life! But the avatar is really neat!
When you do the scene comparison at 6:08 the rock formation is also different.
Edit: after looking at it better, I think they actually just switched the camera angle, I see the two pointy rocks in both scenes, but just in different spots because the camera got moved to the side.
I believe that the line "So humans and dragons will fight no more" actually means he wanted hiccup to seal off the dragons to stop the war. Because in how to train your dragon they just wanted to stop the fighting so they could live in peace. I think he was asking hiccup to seal the dragons off there but they phrased the line that way so it has a double meaning.
Before I watch this video there is the ad...................but it was a How to train you Dragon 3 trailer that had one of those skip add options and I said "heck no I'm not skipping this!!!"
A new trailer just dropped but one of the bigger things about it is that it shows toothless and the light fury in the hidden world with all other dragons bowing down including a biwilder beast

a quick note: stoick the vast may very well said what he said in a non-murdery way after all most of his "motivation" comes from the supposed death of his wife and we don't see a scare of hiccup's face so she's most likely "alive" during that scene, it's probably a fathery speech
Marwen Brini well, in httyd 2 when she was taken hiccup was just a baby about 1,where as in this clip here looks more like a toddler around 2,3 or maybe even 4
Tim, I have some theories that have been researched, so first this is a theory about where Grimmel and Drago are from. In a convention around the time the first trailer was released, there was apparently some sort of footage shown that showed Grimmel riding in something that resembles a nacele, which means small boat in Old French, which was carried by his Deathgrippers, to an arena surrounded by dolmens, which are found in Britain and France, also as you mentioned in a previous video, Drago seems like he is from Southern or eastern Europe, my guess is Greece from his accent, which is in the Mediterranean, and I think Grimmel is from France which is also in the Mediterranean, and we know Grimmel hunted down the night furies, and like you mentioned in a previous video, Drago probably killed a night fury before, or he could have gained some night fury hide from Grimmel to make his cloak, and I suspect the 2 may have been partners, or had some business connection, when it came to killing night furies, and because of their probable homelands, I think night furies are native to the Mediterranean. Now I have a theory about why light furies look the way they do. I did some research on animals that Toothless was based off of to see why the Light Fury may look the way she dies, and I found a great ecplanation for it in cats, because there is a genetic defect in them that makes them have white fur, blue eyes, and limited hearing ability, which is like the light fury's white hide, blue eyes, and the 4 fewer ear appendages, and the remaining ones are shorter, so my best prediction is that there were some night furies with this defect that only had those 3 specific traits that the current light fury has, and those ones born with the defect knew that with the human's growing weaponry, intelligence, and their traits that make them stand out and easier to be spotted and killed, they had to leave, and they migrated to the arctic and they evolved to lose the row of short spines on their heads and have the row of spines down their backs and the spines on their legs replaced with long, thin spines, and they likely evolved this way so that they could fly better in snow storms, but eventually humans found them again and drove them out of the arctic, and they had to evolve once more, and gained the cloaking ability, and as for the size difference of the light fury and toothless, it could be sexual dimorphism, and the glittery pink streaks may also be sexual dimorphism or possibly have some contribution to cloaking, also I theorize that when Grimmel and maybe Drago killed most of the night furies, they thought they killed them all, but there were probably about a dozen or half a dozen of them that were able to flee to the archipelago, and there they settled on an island, and their hatred of humans festered and when they found out about dragon raids, the furies decided to join them and took out weapons to hurt the humans, but help prevent more dragon deaths, and they likely had no idea of the red death, and eventually toothless was born, and when he was about 1 or 2 years old, a pack of whispering deaths invaded their island and fought over the territory and all of the night furies and whispering deaths were killed except for toothless and his whispering death nemesis, who at the time was looking for remaining whispering deaths to help, or night furies to kill and he and toothless fought and at some point toothless bit his nemesis, and the whispering death gave Toothless a small scar in between his neck and left wing, which you can notice and it is unexplained how he got it, and toothless also has a long and thin scar around his lower right throat and shoulder which was probably gained from Hiccup's bola, but if you look closely by his left wing when hiccup finds toothless tied up, the first scar I mentioned was very noticeable, so he could have gotten it from this fight, but anyways toothless knew he was outmatched and fled vowing revenge on the whispering death and the whispering death vowed the same on toothless, and toothless kept doing raids for 14 to 13 years until hiccup shot him down, and that is it. Btw, if you are wondering what I mean by the night furies not knowing of the red death, well I don't think toothless was ever controlled by her, as hiccup said he never stole food like the rest, and when they arrived at the nest, you see Toothless looking around like it is unfamiliar, indicating he had never been there before. If you see this Tim, you should make a video on it, and also sorry about the ramble and have a good day.
Well I think so Stoick might have believed that hidden world because it might have been a myth(like the lycanwing and vanahiem myth) of his time. Although Stoick never saw this hidden world he always searched for the nest of dragons and believed that the red death's nest was actually the hidden world.
That's my theory

*I believe an interesting characteristic of Stoick is that he didn't always see the obstacles in his path as important enough to weigh him down emotionally or to hinder his intent. And this can be good and bad at times. He always looked forward to the goal at the end (peace, unity, etc.) and had such a strong belief that with hard effort, things will get better. And he would stick to his guns whether that meant fighting through whole armies to protect his people. But he could be stubborn enough that he would even go through his own son. This is an interesting quality that carries over from the books and shows how he is as a stubborn yet well-intended leader and father. I believe that during his speech he may have meant that finding the hidden world was Hiccup's destiny in order to kill off most dragons, however the key factor is that Stoick looks past the issue of a genocide. He sees the light at the end of the tunnel, after everything is through and the battle is over, when people and dragon populations could be balanced out and live together in harmony. It wasn't until Hiccup opened his father's eyes to the real problem that Stoick started to take into account that the ends don't always justify the means. I appreciate this quality as it uniquely describes him as a leader, a father, and a man.

I know shipping is usually an impulsive, emotional and often irrational thing but I think that it's really useful to analyse what makes a good romantic relationship work in a story. Not dissecting every moment two characters spend together, but just examining the core and most powerful moments of a least a few. I think it would be really cool if you made a video on it Tim. I've always liked Percy and Annabeth, I know some people think it's just a convenient pairing and that their relationship never really develops but I have to disagree. The thing is it always gets stronger so there's never any moment were it's like wow, that changed. But if you remember one of the first things Annabeth told Percy was, "You drool when you sleep.". They didn't start out super close, but they got closer. It would be cool if their relationship did get destroyed or tested in one of the later books, but I think the set up was more than adequate.
I had a thought... however unlikely.
What if Grimmel destroys this home, making the moment be the falling point in the plot. This forces the dragons to seek out another - somewhere even Hiccup may not be able to find.
Nice video, I agree that Stoic must have meant his lines in a murdery sort of way, he was pretty hellbent on killing dragons in the first movie. My OTPs, off the top of my head gotta be Doctor and Rose, Buffy and Spike, Sophie and Howl...I have too many, lol. I have a lot of OTPs...Hiccstrid, HiccTooth, KatAang...and so on. I also have a question for you, if you don’t mind? I asked on an older video but it probably got buried in the mix. So I recently got into A:TLA and I was wondering...if the HTTYD world had bending, which of the bending arts do you think the characters would do? I think Hiccup would be an airbender, Astrid would be a waterbender, Snotlout would be a firebender and Fishlegs would be an earthbender. As for the twins...maybe it’s safer for everyone if they can’t control an element lol. I’d really love to know what you think - oh and before I forget, all hail Mishka!

While I'm not much of a shipper, my OTP has got to be Sakura and Syaoran from Cardcaptor Sakura. Between how perfect they are for each other (seriously, some genius writing went into that), and what they've been through, it would have been a travesty if they didn't end up together.
