The fastest gaming GPU you can't buy.
note: GPU hotspot @ 5:59 should read 80.9C.
Do you think a good 650W PSU would work with this card?
Damn Ali, another solid banger! Keep up the streams and keep up the work man!
Optimum tech where I can pre order rtx 3080 ti,please
Hey Ali, when do you think the budget monitor comparison will be arriving. Thanks for the dedication!
In Russia some shops sell 3080 for 4000$…
Must be a weird time to be running a tech channel. "Here's a product you shouldn't buy, that you can't buy and that you are sick of hearing about because of the first two points. Like and subscribe!"
that is the new normal
@@petermeier2064 BLAME THE LACK OF RAIN IN TIAWIAN AND THE VIRUS.
He doesn't beg for subs and likes like other reviewers out there.
Which is why I'm subbed to him
Gamers nexus summed it up
The review is still going to be on UA-cam a year, two years etc down the line
So knowing how it runs comparatively is useful , they aren’t going to avoid a review due to availability
"...but even though you shouldn't buy it and can't buy it, you definitely should buy it if you can. It's better than no GPU and if you don't like it you can trade it in for a bar of gold with the same dimensions."
Nice to see Nvidia is taking advantage of the GPU shortage by charging $500 more for the 3080Ti compared to the 3080 for 10% more performance.
Or $300 less for the same performance as 3090.
@@M4rio21 with half the vram.
@@M4rio21 that's the thing though, people who need a 3090, can't get a 3080ti instead cause of the missing vram, so you really can't compare them.
The 3080ti is just a way to make more money of really good 3080 and bad 3090 bins and you end up paying $50-100 per percentile performance increase.
@@creepyshadow55 Customers are not rational, people needing 3090 =/= people buying 3090. I'm sure there are some whales who bought it just because it's "the fastest"/"it don't dent my budget anyway" and my guess would be that they are anywhere between 10% and 50% of the entire sells.
And 10% is already very optimistic 😂
Now this is what I call an honest review.
Nvidia: Claiming some huge performance boost
Reviewers: Ahh shit here we go again
Reviewers: This GPU is shit
Gamers: Ya fuck Nvidia
Nvidia: Sold out
Did you see Linus techs review? The guy has been bought out. Ridiculous
"How irresponsible are you willing to be".
By the look of it a lot of consumers are very very very very irresponsible!
considering how many people were buying even 3060s from scalpers at stupidly high prices, irresponsible is a huge understatement.
Well... so long as those people are only buying it to game. There's a small segment that will buy with gaming as a secondary use case. And I feel like for those people, it's not a bad price.
It’s only irresponsible of your can’t afford it. Otherwise it’s what the current market is. You either pay up to buy one or you don’t get one. Pretty simple at the end of the day.
@@Bob_Smith19 not at all, I got one at MSRP a couple months ago. Giving scalpers money is as bad as scalping in my eyes because it shows others that it's "ok" and it shouldn't be. Saying it's not irresponsible to buy something at over $1000 above MSRP just because you have the money is ridiculous.
@@TheGameBench doesn't have to be for gaming, it's overpriced for all sorts of consumers
I can't imagine how many people who built a PC waiting for the Christmas discounts on GPU's to not being able to buy any
Me :'( I parted out my 980ti build expecting to buy new parts... i've been using a 2012 thinkpad for 6 months now.
I was working stay-in at our office aug-dec of last year with free everything, I was able to save enough money to build a new pc (new ryzen and 3070) but we are not allowed to go out of the office. By the time I went home almost gpu's are out of stock but still at msrp by the time jan2021 the prices started to go up and out of stock. Although my i5-7500 and gtx 1050ti can still perform. I can tell it is now slowing down.
@@Tux_Appreciator imagine selling a 2080 ti, thinking you’re gonna be able to upgrade to a new gpu only to then be left with neither 🙃
couldn’t be me…..
@@vergodagoat imagine having a 2080 ti die for no reason and been left with nothing :'(
I got into PCs in November. Had everything but the GPU. Wasn’t able to get a GPU since November. I ended up buying a 3080ti at Best Buy yesterday. Yes it is overpriced, but at least it was MSRP. I fear for people who buy AIB versions of it.
Nvidia: Gamers want RTX, we love gamers.
Gamers: We don't want RTX, we want GPUs and a fair system to buy cards.
Nvidia: How about we do none of that.
💯%
I do want RTX and I know for a fact that I'm not the only one.
@@EarthIsFlat456 you are in the vast minority then.
@@zachanator55599 Yes, RTX is awesome, there's no going back for me now. It's like moving from HDD to SSD.
I want 30 series RTX. I had a 2080 TI and it just couldn't control maxed at 4k... So I sod that..
Last year: I think I wait until the rtx 3060 releases to upgrade from my r9 380.
Today: I love my r9 380
Actually I'm rocking a MSI r9 390 and is a really powerful gpu, cheers R9
If you don't NEED to upgrade, loving what you have is the way to go. Just hold out until next year.
rx 570 gang representing
I have an R9 Fury. See no reason to upgrade before the gpupocalypse and Definitely not during it either!
Thank you so much for the concise, genuine review. Other videos were over twice as long as yours, I know I can trust you to give us the real scoop in honest fashion. Love your content!
It's so nice to see a critical review where the reviewer doesn't spend the whole time trying so hard to express incredulity. You just tell it like it is.
My guy, your music playlist is lit lately. Keep it up.
Short, sweet and realistic. Great review
Thanks again for a realistic review and you remained calm thru it all. Steve at Gamers Nexus ripped nVidia a new one (rightly so) given its 6-7% performance improvement over a 3080 for a 71% price increase. Crazy times and nVidia have given up the pretense of helping gamers.
You are acting like this is the first time nvidia doing that. Titan xp cost 3200 USD, when it was 10% faster compared to 1080 ti. They do this because they know there is a market for this.
@Abdullah Hussain I remember some titan card cost 3200 USD and it was like 10 percent faster. In the 10th series cards I believe. I am sure it didn't cost 1200 USD.
@Abdullah Hussain It was titan GTX Titan Z apparently.
i dont think nvidia has ever "helped" gamers. they have always preyed on the gullible consumers. it is their business model, and worst things are, it works, and it won't stop anytime soon.
@@madd5 Who cares, most people won't bit, aside from a few whalers for which money is never a problem. You can buy entire laptops with the 3070 for the price of a single 3080 in the market.
Great video! What lighting are you using to flood the walls behind you with with colour?
Your studio set up looks nice.
what is that wallpaper at the beginning of the video, It's amazing!
Another great informative video! Thank you!
hey man great videdo tnx alot for the effort ...one question tho...at 2:40 where you show the graph for the frame time ... is it me or the frame time of the 3080ti is much more unstable than 3080 or 3090....cuz the fframe time graph is all over the place for that card...could it be because of the mining limiters invidia has built into the card ?
having just bought the 3080 ti I love it and hopefully it will future proof my machine for few years
Hi Ali,
Love your vids man. But, what is your wallpaper ? Thanks
Great review. Truthful and direct. Turned on notifications from you.
Ideal review, straight to the point 👌💯
Im so glad i bought a 2070 on sale before these were released. Runs what I need it for at 1440. Might get one of these in the future when games bump up their requirements.
Hi Ali, another great review again, but why didn't you test it on 5900x cpu especially for 4K benchmark?
does it has vram overheating issue like the 3080 and 3090
good review, an honest review that weighs price vs performance unlike some other channels. Nice work on the review and very sensible for recommending the 3080 over the 3080 TI.
Thank you Ali. Mind testing if the Special Edition EK Waterblock fits? Have a nice day :)
Gotta love an honest review ❤️
You have climbed up to my top 3 favourite pc tech UA-camrs.
There are only 81 Best Buy stores selling the FE 3080 Ti in the entire US and you must be there IN PERSON!!! We are in FUBAR territory now gang!
No shade on you Ali, great job as always!!!
I somehow got Best Buy to ship me my 3080 earlier this year. I didn't realize just how lucky I got until I tried helping my buddies land one as well. Not only do we live in a state with only 3 Best Buys, there isn't a Best Buy within 14 hours driving distance that actually sells them.
Does the ek fe block fit the 3080 ti since it it the same size as the 3080?
I am really struggling with finding a good undervolt setting for the 3080 Ti FE. Any suggestions? I can only get like 3 celsius off and lose like 5-7 fps average. None of the mV and Mhz combos are working for me....
Good review. I really liked your candor about how ill placed this new card is and what it can do to make an already tough situation with GPUs even worse. I guess we can still see the worst of the worst when it comes to greedy tech companies.
"This is not worth it"
Most people: So my GTX 1060 still with me again.....
This is the reviewer I was waiting for. 👍🏻👍🏻
Do we know if any AIB cards are launching tomorrow or is it just the Founders Edition?
It's basically a 3090 for a cheaper price, according to a Chinese reviewer it even performs slightly better than the former in the OpenVR test. Seeing that I'm still on a 3 years old 2080ti and, most importantly, hopefully tomorrow I'll finally receive the Vive Pro 2 that I preordered last month (which requires 60% more gpu power than my 2 years old Valve Index to run 2448x2448 per eye at 120hz), I think it would be a good gpu to upgrade, providing I can find it at msrp. Edit : OpenVr benchmark result was 68.7 with a 3080 and 74.5 with a 3080ti
Best honest review sir!
How do you get your hands on the FE edition in Aus?? 🤔
Awesome review! ^^
paid $940 for a higher end 3080 partner card back in November and these Ti reviews are making me feel pretty good about that purchase
same $730 for a 3070 looks today like the beast deal i ever did lol
@@petermeier2064 3070 is an amazing card even at $730. congrats brother 🙌
@@SuLu_B thx i am pretty happy with it, upgraded from a 1070 its so much more faster...
Same. I just wish i sold my old card (2080) for more, sold it to a friend for just 400$..
@@UnnecessarilyLongUsername yeah I helped a good friend of mine build his first PC using some parts I was upgrading and he ended up getting my 2070 super for about $250 lol

What's the hash rate differences?
can you review the pulsefire haste? i want to buy it but idk if its good
Love the fact that you are still using 10900k for testing. :-D
Does this 3080 ti FE have a mining limiter baked into it also seems like most of the reviews are omitting this info
I got my 3080 FE back before the GPU wars started. It took me a month of constantly monitoring to get one. Wouldn't want to through that again to play much more and get a slight perform boost.
Thank you. Do you plan 3070 ti review?
07:14 ... I really can't see them binning down chips that meet 3080/Ti spec to fill demand for lower end cards given the current state of the market.
How much do you bench?
Anyone know what that wallpaper is? Looks sick!
I got a 3080 Ti on the Newegg shuffle like 2 days after release! Can’t believe it. Already has a 3080 so I sold it for the same price I bought the 3080 Ti for. Totally worth it for the “free upgrade”
What is the exact time for the launch?
You should test VR performance, these new cards are perfect for it
@Optimum Tech Bro, do you have an extra RTX 3070? Can I buy it?
5:54 numerical error? 90.9C instead of 80.9C?
yup he confirmed.
Nice review. Agreed with performance vs price comment.
Please
of the review average and maximum power consumption of the graphics card , to power supply choose
So, looking at the data, the 3080Ti is a 3090 with 12GB of RAM?
very slitly slower but almost the same, also 3080ti has a worse cooler, 3090 is a 3 slot with a huge cooler with allows it to be cooler while being less noisy
which cpu would you use for this 3080ti?
This is the best review on UA-cam
Gives us the comparisons
Gives us ideal world MSRP viewpoint
Gives us real world current climate viewpoint
Keep up the good work Ali
Not really. He is an nvidia fanboy.
Good review but I need to ask the question with the RX6900XT being $200 less than the 3080Ti, why wasn’t this presented in your broader reviews? It was only shown briefly in F1 2021. Something to think about isn’t it.
When you reviewing the sliger s620 ?
You probably the only person can answer this question. Will the ek water block for 3080 fe works for 3080ti fe?
Is the Corsair SF600 enough when the CPU is
yes, but I would still undervolt the gpu. If you are building a new rig, it doesn't hurt to just get the SF750 or just go with the Coolermaster CM750 SFX gold instead.
are nz going to get any fe?
Release time of this card?
Well. I waited all night but I got a RTX 3080 Ti at Best Buy this morning (US$1,199.00). I actually wanted the RTX 3080 but they ran out and my only choice was a 3080 Ti or 3090. Or nothing for who knows how long. Now. Question please if you have time. I want to put this in a Cooler Master NR200 (mesh). Is it possible? Thank you for your time.
Can't wait to buy RTX 3080Ti Scalpers Edition for $3,080!
Good night and good luck
Can you comment on hashrate of the TI cards - FE vs AIB? I'm unable to find any confirmation that the 3080ti FE is a LHR chip or not.
Last I heard all FE cards don’t have the LHR limiter
@@YayDanMan that's what I heard as well, but also heard that all TI will be LHR. Could be the comments about the FE were for cards at that time. Was hoping someone who has an TIFE in hand could try it out and see.
im just gonna run my 1080 Ti till it feels like a 9800gt
Can someone ID those monitors behind him? I can't seem to, myself.
Hi can you review tecware pulse?
got the card a few days so far I’m loving it, although it makes a coil whine sometimes even tho I have a 750 psu
Super off topic-
but does anyone have an idea how those charts and animations are made? even something as simple as animating the line graph over the x-axis is not trivial in Excel, Python, or Tableau. Guessing it's done in Adobe AE or something?
Probably an After Effects template that he bought from a website. He probably has a place to plug in the data set and it animates for him. Just a guess.
With a 4K 120hz display, your best shot at achieving those FPS is an overclocked 3090. I know from a price/performance perspective it doesn't make sense to buy a 3080 ti or a 3090, however if you want to hit the 4K 120hz target (or closest), you don't have any other option.
Will you do another fan build react
It is mind blowing what great value those 1080 Ti cards were. Honestly, all top range cards should have that kind of price to performance ratio. Sad times to be a PC enthusiast nowadays.
Is 83 C a bad temp for this card while gaming at 99% usage?
I thought that until launch you had embargo?
I can't stress this enough, undervolt this card, it helps to keep the gpu/memory temps in check and will help with keeping the clock frequency stable as well.
It's on sale for 2900 euros here in NL :,)
What about Asus ROG 2080 Super to 3080 Ti is it worthy? To be honest I’m not sure to make the switch cause it will be for a couple FPS
miners : we'll pay 3x MSRP!!!
Nvidia : accidentally unlocked eth mining with new driver
I own a 1080 and skipped the 20 series for this generation but after failing to get a card at MSRP for two months I’m giving up until the 40 series comes out…
Good luck.
good luck, seriously :)
@@madd5 going to need the luck, but hopefully in a year the shortage will be better.
The 1080 Ti launched with a price of 700 USD. This card is 2x better but 1.7x more expensive (assuming MSRP) So over *4* years, (ignoring impact of inflation and mining on price) we see a relative improvement of 17%.
Remember, 4 years ago, First gen Ryzen was just launched... there is no progress in GPU market :(
It would be 899 or 849 in normal circumstances
I bought my 1080Ti 3 years ago and I'm currently playing Horizon Zero Dawn with all Ultra settings turned on with no problems at all. Best investment I ever made.
Is it possible to add 6900xt benchmarks to your future charts?
nvidia wouldn't allow him, only 6800xt and lower, nothing that shows 3080ti and 3090 being horrible for the price vs a $999 card ;)
(Sarcasm)
About 14 months after this video went live. I got a Evga 3080ti brand new for $865
The high end AIB cards are all quite faster than the FE model. Placing them above the 3090 in performance in most tests.
My old reliable 980ti is something I no longer take for granted given the gpu market. Can't wait until the shortage is resolved. Great review :)
This is a production GPU for rendering ( where more memory is ideal ) not really targeted at gaming.
Just bought a TUF 3080 Ti, brand new for 510 US$. I think it was a pretty damn good deal considering that where I live a 4070 Super, which is slower, starts at 590 US$ for a cheap brand one.
Man, how times have changed, I can't imagine paying 1200+ for it 😅
I have an ITX computer case and work with machine learning for my side hustle. This card is for me.
I am glad that i got a rtx 3080 fe for msrp

Here is a comment for your UA-cam algorithm boost.
are 3070ti and 3080ti lhr?
Makes me happy i managed to snatch up my 2070 super when i did not gonna lie, gonna be interesting to see just how high the retail price gets on these
I am almost tempted to sell my 1080ti at a profit. Got it used and the current price has doubled.
You can run pretty much anything, unless you plan to be playing Total War: Warhammer 2 on max settings- then you can expect a playable 60-90 fps at 1080p
