The language one is so true. If I start to say "I'm gonna try to get an A" I always immediately correct myself by saying "I WILL get an A" as in, I WILL do the work required to get an A, not just try. Saying you're just gonna "try" leaves the door open for failure to accomplish the task. Also, coming from a philosophical perspective, you use/need language to interpret/organize reality. There is always a bias, and you decide what that bias is whether consciously or un-. So why not use it to your advantage?
I also found out that if I write things I need to learn on the paper, Science, Geography... I will remember it clearly. I failed my finances(?) test and the teacher said that I can improve the grade, I got a C and fixed the grade. (She also gave me like a day too so)

Could you please do a video showing how to get out of burnout? How to recognize the early stages, how to avoid it, and what to actually do once you’re deep in it? I’m finding it hard to deal with all the disenchantment and apathy rn, and feel like I’m getting sucked into something that will ruin who I am and all the hard work I put in before.

Been there done that. You just got to ask yourself why do you have to study what are the rewards and consequences if I study and if I dont study, then u think abt ur dreams and goals. Remember this "laziness is an negative action you are not lazy you are doing lazy, so make urself do the opposite positive action productivity". The video still applies, you just have a different barrier to studying. A way to make it easier to get out the door could be to just put on your shoes or pack your back. Tell your family/friend(s) you're going to study; way easier than actually going, but now you just told someone else you were planning to go, so you'll (sorta) have to ;). I've tried making schedule, getting rid of all electronics and even asking for advice from other people and none of it works. Thx you soooooooo...... Much for your help.
I saved all these videos for the semester coming this fall, I'm finally a college junior (which sadly took me 4 years cause I switched from nursing to pre-med) so if you see a bunch of comments randomly. I'm sorry. You do help me a whole lot during the last semester, my average went up a couple of points but I'm going to get ahead of the game by prepping for the fall right now.
1. Systems produce results 2. Meditation + Journal 3. Say so what? Replace but with and 4. Lower AE: make it very small, Pomodoro, lower expectations 5. Add spice vary it up
where was I when he released these productivity videos... this really got me motivated to do my apush notes I had been procrastinating on for uh... the last week. THANK YOUUUU!!!!!
I can't thank you enough for introducing me to The Pomodoro Technique!!! I was so exhausted with my studying methods that I started dreading the moments when I had to study. Then I saw your video & started using it. Now a days I get even excited to study because I can see in the apps how many hours I studied or focused on smth. The higher the number gets, I feel more confident. And it really helps!! So thank you Dr. Jay!!!! Stay Wild.
@@looksschoolofficial A good app I personally use is Forest. It lets you set a timer depending on how long you want to study for, and as the timer goes, there is a tree growing on the screen. If you quit the app to use your phone, or if you stop the timer, the tree dies. Then there is a feature that lets you see how long you've studied for during the day, the week, the month, and even the year. You can see at what times you studied, for how long, etc. Very good app that I 100% recommend !
Something else that works for me I saw somewhere is that if you’re procrastinating count to 2 then you have to get up and do whatever it is you were delaying

I know when I start procastinating, but still hard to stop myself sometimes. Probably everyone goes through this :(

Thx you soooooooo...... Much for your help.
If I was your brother, I'd be doing everything for you, so the only thing you'd have to concentrate on, is to study!
I saved all these videos for the semester coming this fall, I'm finally a college junior (which sadly took me 4 years cause I switched from nursing to pre-med) so if you see a bunch of comments randomly. I'm sorry. You do help me a whole lot during the last semester, my average went up a couple of points but I'm going to get ahead of the game by prepping for the fall right now.
woah. that’s a lot of studying! i guess commitment is key in the field of medicine.
Who else thinks I’m so hot funny talented etc,
Game changing advice
You know this is a viable tip if it wasn't for the monetary and data loss
Thanks man.
That was v helpful thanks *goes back to watching*
Will definitely work!
i think this is one of those study tips videos that actually give me an insight of what to do. thank you so much for sharing!
Army💜💜😂
1. Systems produce results
2. Meditation + Journal
3. Say so what? Replace but with and
4. Lower AE: make it very small, Pomodoro, lower expectations
5. Add spice vary it up
"Do the difficult tasks first". I'm studying for my last exams ever. I have no other options 😂
"I too am human" exactly what an alien would say
😂
where was I when he released these productivity videos... this really got me motivated to do my apush notes I had been procrastinating on for uh... the last week. THANK YOUUUU!!!!!
Who else is supposed to be studying right now, but this video came in their recommended?
haha me, but I'm going to start studying now.
Basically everyone in the comments, I can tell you that for free. Including me.
Ugh now I don't feeling study
Finally!! Genius advice that actually works. Thank you❤❤
Oh come on YT!! Suggesting this right AFTER finishing the term tests?? Thanks tho totally helpful :)
Jay!!!! Stay Wild.
Which app? :)
Bro I don’t know who you are but you made a big difference in my Life…
Something else that works for me I saw somewhere is that if you’re procrastinating count to 2 then you have to get up and do whatever it is you were delaying
The most helpful video I've come across so far. Scientific and Relevant.
Thank you so much
For the first time ever, I'm watching these kind of vids in my free time (holiday) and not when I'm supposed to be studying. growth ppl, growth. Preparing for second year, trying not to be the average student i was last year.
I'm so miserable RN that I'm procastinating and Not watching the video...
20 seconds into the video, I understand that the narrator is a smart person and I'm gonna take the advice seriously and follow his steps.
And 21 seconds later, I'm like, maybe I'll watch this after I go make myself a cup of coffee, or maybe play couple of songs that I'm forgetting the lyrics to.
Yeah. I know when I start procastinating, but still hard to stop myself sometimes.
Probably everyone goes through this :(
Imagine what happens if you don't finish your required tasks. Imagine if you don't do it you are a piece of poop.
So what
@@sillymesilly omg😭
@@sillymesilly idk if it's just a *piece* ..
Lols i was supposed to take a 5min breather but its now been 3hrs😂..........the universe is telling me to pull up my socks and get on with my studying lols

7:34 it doesn’t help. I start studying (but not really studying) while I’m thinking of the reward and I lose concentration.
Army 😂😂💜
I agree with u my mind always wants the rewards first...nd the everytime the reward is a bts song🤣

Kevin you're amazing! These are such helpful tips, the best I've come across so far! Mindfulness really is the answer to anything it seems haha. I've been struggling a bit lately with studying, but I haven't been sure on what's causing it. Time to grab my journal! This video really came just in time.
@@MedSchoolInsiders Thanks, appreciate it!

A sign that this video came out in the right time.
Thanks I actually have my last premed exams next week and I'm studying but not well enough as I should. This is helpful.

If you are stressed, again, take a moment to reel yourself in, and talk to someone if you need to.

Keep your head up you beautiful hooman! 🥺
Stay safe, stay kind, stay awesome, I love you 💞
My brother told me that he had a student in his class who kept telling everyone that he was hard working and organized even though he wasn’t... until he was.
How we identify ourselves has a lot to do how we present ourselves to others and how we act has a lot to do with how we identify ourselves.
Of course you also need to want to do these things that you tell people you’re doing.
I actually need to study right now and I needed someone to slap some sense into me and I came across your video, thank you
