    Quick Summary:
    1. Audit Yourself, examine your system. Keep journal. Mark at what time you were doing what.
    2. Say "so what". When you dont feel studying.
    3. Use "and" instead of "but".
    4. Starting is hardest part - Divide tasks into smaller one.
    5. Use Pomodoro - 25min work, 5min break.
    6. When starting is hard - Complete some easier task to create a momentum.
    7. Lower your expectations and just start the task.
    8. Add some spice - Switch Subjects or topics.
    - Rewards yourself
    - Move, exercise or walking

also i learnt that its important to ask yourself "why" you feel like not doing anything and "why" you feel lazy. also read up on "have to vs. want to" but theres always a certain pain and feeling we like to avoid that is rooted in the reason why we dont want to get things done.

Honestly, I think a lot of us face this issue because when we study, we feel like we're performing a chore. Try focusing less on the fact that you're studying and more on the subject. Really immerse yourself into the subject and you won't even realize how much time has flown by.

@@hinamatsuro1908 By setting up your life so that you're only ever studying things you care about and enjoy learning in the first place. That's what works for me, anyway 🤷‍♂️ I make pretty much no compromises, and for the few subjects I still need to knock out but don't care about, I find a way to make them interesting and shortcut as much as possible. Then it's never a chore, for me it's easy to remind myself that I'm lucky as hell to finally be not just allowed but required to spend my time being a student instead of having other crushing survival pressures right then. But it only works when I care about the material lol

    1. Note the pain points
    2. The power of language
    - I don't feel like studying
    "SO WHAT?"
    - I have to study for my midterms but I don't feel like it.
    USE "AND" INSTEAD OF "BUT"
    • Two phrases independent of each other and don't effect each other.
    • I am accountable
    3. Lower Activation Energy.
The problem is with getting started.
Divide the tasks into the smallest of chunks.
Do the same with time commitments.
No "long-term commitments". You can quit whenever you want. But once you get started, you wouldn't want to do so. The Zeigarnic Effect.
    4. Start with the easiest tasks.
    5. Lower your expectations. Start with the intention of writing something bad.
    6. When you have been studying for some time and eventually run out of steam::: Add some spice.
    • Subject Variations.
    • Vary methods
    • reward system
    • Move --
    - new location

The language one is so true. If I start to say "I'm gonna try to get an A" I always immediately correct myself by saying "I WILL get an A" as in, I WILL do the work required to get an A, not just try. Saying you're just gonna "try" leaves the door open for failure to accomplish the task.
Also, coming from a philosophical perspective, you use/need language to interpret/organize reality. There is always a bias, and you decide what that bias is whether consciously or un-. So why not use it to your advantage?

Wow this is amazing! I am definitely most excited to utilise these techniques.
If I may add fifth step:
Tell yourself "I GET to do this" instead of "I HAVE to do this". Not many people have access to education so you're definitely fortunate to be studying indoors being comfortable and warm. Instead of working hardcore labour for 10 hours since your country is war-torn. Also if we look at this more specifically just for university students, not everyone has the capability of studying Medicine, Law, Engineering etc. due to the tough requirements that many people can't meet. Again because you're in a fortunate position to be in your dream course, you GET the opportunity to do this. Appreciate. Live. Love.
This way of thought always keeps me moving forward to bigger and better things!

I have been suffering over the past year or so from not being able to study home, the only way I can bring myself to studying is by going to a public library or the university’s library, which makes things much more difficult to deal with, because if I don’t feel like going out on some days, I already know that I’m not going to be able to study anything that day.
If I’m home, I will not study, doesn’t matter even if my exam or quiz is tomorrow..
I have not seen anyone suffering from this problem so far which makes it even worse for me..

Been there done that. You just got to ask yourself why do you have to study what are the rewards and consequences if I study and if I dont study, then u think abt ur dreams and goals. Remember this "laziness is an negative action you are not lazy you are doing lazy, so make urself do the opposite positive action productivity". Last thing whenever u have to do something important right when you think about it just do it. Follow the 80/20 principle. Hope that helps good luck and keep striving never ever quit.

The video still applies, you just have a different barrier to studying. A way to make it easier to get out the door could be to just put on your shoes or pack your back. It's easy to do, and you'll 100% feel stupid putting on your shoes for no reason. Tell your family/friend(s) you're going to study; way easier than actually going, but now you just told someone else you were planning to go, so you'll (sorta) have to ;). Just an idea, you'll always be the one who knows best.

Then I saw your video & started using it. Now a days I get even excited to study because I can see in the apps how many hours I studied or focused on smth. The higher the number gets, I feel more confident. And it really helps!! So thank you Dr. Jay!!!! Stay Wild.

@@looksschoolofficial A good app I personally use is Forest. It lets you set a timer depending on how long you want to study for, and as the timer goes, there is a tree growing on the screen. If you quit the app to use your phone, or if you stop the timer, the tree dies. Then there is a feature that lets you see how long you've studied for during the day, the week, the month, and even the year. You can see at what times you studied, for how long, etc. Very good app that I 100% recommend !
