    Will these work with the (damaged) co2 seal still on the gun? Or does the leaky seal need to be removed first.
    Brilliant little product though guys. Bravo.

    So it says these are made from "flexible TPU 3d printed plastic". I'm curious how this material compares to the rubber or synthetic material that most co2 seals are made from. Does it compress and seal just as well?
    Also I have a Diana Chaser and I use Umarex co2. I'm assuming this would work for me no problem?

      not sure how it compares, just know it works. Yes, would work with any gun that uses 12 gram co2.

      I would guess they are leaking from the valve rather than the co2 seal.

    Hi mate wondering if its normal that some co2 came out where the magazine is as i was letting the rest of the co2 out of the gun after shooting

    • @ShootfishProductions
      @ShootfishProductions  Рік тому

      probably, you always get leftover gas squirting out when releasing the co2 cartridge. it has a freezing effect too, so let your gun get back to normal temperature before fitting a new co2 .

    After living with two Sig Sauer We The People 1911 .177 for a year, first one, then the second, contracted the dreaded CO2 dump affliction in both magazines. While there can be multiple reasons for such malfunctions, on my two examples I found just one, and found it could be mitigated by simply preventing that CO2 cylinder from turning while you tighten. Did you ever notice how your CO2 cylinder sometimes spins with every twist as you tighten it to pierce?
    Why is that important? The piercing valve at the top of the magazine is counter-threaded, (righty-loosey, lefty-tighty). So when you tighten the CO2 against the piercing valve, as it is pushed against it hard, it has a tendency to actually turn the valve itself slightly. Especially if you properly lube the top of an occasional CO2 with a drop of Pellgun Oil like you should, to keep the O-rings, seals and valves in shape.
    Counter-intuitively, unlike a brand-new unlubricated gun in which the tip of the CO2 "grabs" the dry white (in my magazines it's white, could be green in yours), seal as it's getting pierced, mostly preventing it from turning even if you don't tightly hold it, a properly lubricated setup may not "grab" as well and spin. Don't think skipping the lube is a solution... that white seal really DOES need to be lubricated to prevent it drying out over time. Thus, as time goes by, CO2 cylinders eventually spin REALLY easily as you tighten to pierce them. It's surprising just how hard you then have to grip it to stop it from turning inside the magazine as you do. As you tighten and pierce the CO2 and it spins clockwise while you're doing it, trust me that cylinder is pushing hard against the piercing valve seal, which it will inevitably turn clockwise too, loosening it, if only just a little. As once was famously said, a little got more and more... PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT!
    Worst part of all this is that it's darn near impossible to find a valve key (like the one that you got in the re-build kit!), that will fit within the confines of my empty magazines which would allow me to simply and easily just tighten that damn valve, leaving you to use flathead screwdrivers and the like, potentially damaging the needle or valve itself while not being able to really tell just how tight you got it. I eventually took some online advice I saw, carefully UNSCREWED THE PIERCING VALVE, removed and cleaned the o-ring or (replace it if you have one), cleaned the threads and put the o-ring back on, silicone lubed it all, then WRAPPED PLUMBERS TAPE AROUND THE WHOLE THING, both the mounted o-ring and threads, before COUNTER-CLOCKWISE screwing the assembly back in as tightly as I could with no valve key.
    Another drop of Pellgun oil to top a new CO2, and tighten. While I got a quick sputter it immediately became silent - it held air! Since then, even leaving a full CO2 loaded for weeks or even months has caused me no ill effects as long as I kept the white piercing-valve seal "hydrated", kept from drying out. And following these instructions.
    So as a preventative measure, if you grab your CO2 tightly while getting loaded. you'll probably always have a nice day!

      @@ShootfishProductions Bummer, you didn't answer the guy's question that I can see. I read the description, I'm in FL, and I'd like to buy these but you didn't answer the question nor is there any info about this in the video description. I also see that people keep asking where to get these and it's clear they missed that info but you simply add your URL. When I was a professor I'd answer student's questions by telling them to read the syllabus. That NEVER worked. I found it was just easier to answer the question briefly instead of repeatedly telling them to read the syllabus. So please, do you ship to FL USA or is there an issue with ordering that people should know about? Thanks for your patience.

      @ShootfishProductions Hey man, i have a brand new SA XDM mag where the hex key didn't fit in the cap correctly, so I couldn't seat it in enough to tighten it up all the way, and the co2 just blew out while insids the mag. Bits of co2 ice were falling out and everything. I heard you say the valve is done after that because it's frozen and brittle. On the 2nd go round I took some sand paper to the cap so the hex key seated into it better and I was able to tighten a new bulb in there nicely. No leaks. Is my seal fucked from the first mishap? I was indoors, and it took a few min to do the sandpaper thing to the cap, so it had a little time to warm up. I have extra mags for it anyway, so I really don't care. I'm just curious. It's one of the reasons I bought these caps. Plus, I have the Sig Emperor scorpion with spitting issues during the first few shots. I didn't know until after I bought these cap sealers that they're only good for about 5 bulbs. So I jumped back on ebay and bought 2 more packets.

    • @ShootfishProductions
      @ShootfishProductions  Рік тому +1

      The original seals are damaged by leaving the gas in, and by inserting a new gas when the seal is frozen. I used the ptfe tape method with every new gas tank with no leaks but thought there must be a easier option, hence I designed the slip on seals. I have several co2 guns and they all had problems with leaking gas at some point. Now I use the slip on seals and they seal every time, with no long term leakage. Spitting issues are usually the valve which releases the gas freezing and leaking especially on the first few shots when the pressure is higher. Only fix for that is strip down and refurb of the valve if possible. Hope this helps.@@BostonWhoFan515

      I presume the gas goes in the removable mag?. Theres a pin which is struck by the hammer which releases a shot of gas. This is what leaks, and can be removed from the mag and taken apart for refurbing, which means fitting new seals and lubricating. I think they are o rings but not sure. You may get away with getting some silicone oil inside the valve by prressing the pin in and applying a small drop of oil. If it only happens for a couple of shots I wouldnt worry too much about it.@@BostonWhoFan515
