This 16-gram refillable CO₂ bulb design was conceived by a FiZZ GiZ customer whose ingenuity is surpassed only by his creativity and his good nature. His contribution to the open source community makes it possible for all FiZZ GiZ kit owners to access and use cheap, affordable CO₂ anytime anywhere. It only takes about a nickel's worth of CO₂ to refill your empty bulb. This makes your savings roughly a buck-or-two-a-pop. Enjoy.
archie ball = " i can make a refillable CO2 cartridge."
airsoft dudes= "mine mine mine mine mine mine."
very slick. I don't expect to do this myself, so I'll wait for somebody to go into biz selling these. I'll pay a pretty penny and won't mind.
P.S. very smooth camera technique
Simon: The loader is home-made too.
Would have pushed the plug further and bend the casing Back around it. Saver that way
Refillable is worth it.
I didn't know it could be done.
I need this for my C02 airguns!!! Whoever has a machine shop - please make these and send me a link to buy it! pleassseeeee!
what is the max price you would pay , and how much pieces would you buy?
@Yavuz Onat 40000cent ? in which currency?
5$
Mike Spike, any chance you could try this with a 12g co2 cartridge that we use with air pistols? Can it use the same valve parts??? I wish I was good enough to do this!
Very interesting! Please clarify one thing: you mention that the valve was made from stainless. Does that mean the valve was made by you, or can it be bought somewhere?
Looks great...can you also pump it up and use air??
Using a file on a lathe may not be the best of ideas. If that chuck grips it you may end up with diamonds in your stomach.
But very interesting indeed and a job well done
Well said and ill advised for the faint of heart. There are definitely safer approaches. Thx.
Should you have included cleaning the capsules out before assembling?
I got a bunch of these aluminum tanks for the brown motors that I have worn out. The motors wear out but the tanks last forever. I can not think of any reason that I would rather use one of these steel ones instead of aluminum which is far lighter.
Make a 12g versión
Hey friend, you did a great job.Could you tell me, what is the name of that cylindrical part used for NRV making or from which machine you removed it from...?
do you know the material used for the original seal?
oh I thought these where for air guns
+Austin Watson same ^^ but it's an awesome idea
You can make a refillable CO₂ bulb using most any CO₂ cartridges following the steps outlined in the video. One could modify a Crosman 12g cartridge and many other disposable bulb brands. The process is not limited to just the 16g bulb shown in the video. With the right tools and equipment, pretty much any disposable bulb can be converted to a refillable.
Thanks for the kind remark.
Lol! me too, that's why I'm here
So,if this process is done once,That cartridge can be refilled multiple times?
Can I use this for a BB gun cartidge?☝😁
For sure. Just use the empty cartridges that fit your BB gun to fabricate the refillable bulbs.
Could this idea be used with pellet gun co2?
... можно сделать переходник для заправки от огнетушителя или насоса высокого давления, молорик!!!
I wasnt clear if you made those valves yourself? If so, Can I buy a 10 pack from you?
cool mod! i have a refillable with a valve intake on the side dont know if it was custom made.
Please check out my comment. I had modded a Daisy Model 44 (S&W M-29), adding Bondo to the grips etc. as I used it for a target pistol, until only the tip of my finger could move. I'm looking for the pistol, because I left it with my son and when he died, his mother threw out all the things I had asked him to keep until I got back. It was some years ago, but I still hope to find it.
Can i use it for Making carbonised Drink ?
Sure.
5:24 he really is trying hard not to say "prior to insertion", lol
great video
ur a genius sir
Thank-you for the kind remarks. But you give me too much credit. This project was a failed entrepreneurial endeavor for me. Despite my high hopes for the product to be popular with real customers and buyers, it turns out it was more popular with UA-cam viewers. I am guessing you found my video as the result of some interest you have with carbon dioxide gas cylinders??? So, here is something new... Although slightly off-topic - but still relevant to CO₂, you may be curious to know of this alternative use of compressed carbon dioxide gas: ua-cam.com/video/nH6a2VL-iK0/v-deo.html.
Good idea but have you factered in the cost of the lathe and the metal work tools you are using? surely the average cyclist wont have any facilities like this and it would be just as cost effective to buy new cartridges and donate the used ones for recharging?
Need space for liquid expansion?
Another demo showing how to refill the empty FiZZ GiZ brand refillable CO2 cartridge: Refilling A FiZZ GiZ CO2 Bulb
Hi! I am afraid of the glue. Can it hold the valve? What if the glue break and shoot out the valve to your face? What pressure can it stand without any problem? Thinking of a hot summer day...
@@Gnor27 Adding threads should address your concerns.
This is great shit to know but I think everybody's going to run out to Meijer and get a fucking $15 batch of those boys lol🤣
Frogg-O... U R probably right, when it comes to occasional use. But for someone who buys a box of 100 twice a month, having a few refillable bulbs in their arsenal can actually save them a fair amount. Here's a use for CO₂ you may find surprising... ua-cam.com/video/nH6a2VL-iK0/v-deo.html
Where do I get the valve? Or do I have to machine it myself? And does this also work with 12g Co2 cartidges for airsoft guns?
excellent.
Thanks again.
Muy buen trabajo e idea, enhorabuena.
zangarrucho318 Gracias, amigo.
What's the difference between a 6/32 and a 3/16? Well this work for air guns?
The former has a "2" in it and the latter a "1". A few folks I sent them to have used them some kind of airguns (dunno specifics, ie, lead pellets, BBs or plastic spheres). Many airguns accept 12g bulbs with smaller form/dim's. I don't think many air rifles take the 16g bulbs. But I have seen some air pistols that did. Just jerkin' U around on the "difference" question. Would like to think I'm right in thinking that, other than the least common denominator, they're identical.
Hello friend how many pounds of price did you put in the co2 cylinder?
I would not trust the loctite 680 - threading should be there
!
It can even knock out your eyes! A car valve would be better inside as well.
It like charge frion
Hello Mike, I have 15 of these bottles CO2 12 bacias grams that now they are bacias not worth me anything and your system seems a helluva idea and I like that I embiaras (to Spain) 15 of these valves to make rechargeable that have and do not throw them, only the valves since holing bottles and put me in charge and I válbulas.

No more greetings and I hope I can shipping to the valves.
Rubén: I do not build these items commercially. There were too few people interested in purchasing the items. I was hoping to capture the interest of a distributor or retailer who would buy a thousand units for resale. That hasn't happened yet. Bummer. I don't understand why you'd do this for this application when you could just use a bigger tank adapted into the fizz gizz. I'm sure the are some applications were this would make sense to me. Keep in mind I'm making "I" and "Me" statements, this is just my opinion.
so genius
I would not trust a glue, the valve can become a projectile. Thread it instead
What kind of glue is that? Somebody knows?

sorry but i would not trust that thread lock to that kind of pressure
how can I make a cap for the co2 cartage that when screwed on, I can pressurize it and when off I can put what ever in it like water.
One of the many cool things we could have if it weren't for the positive correlation between levels of stupidity and litigiousness.
Great there
Cool I want some thoes
My name's Mike. I don't have a gun.
Where do I get the valve? Good video!
You'll have to build it. I don't make them commercially. Let me know if you do. Few people have said they would try. And no one has yet posted having actually built one.

como podria comprarlo y a que precio.
no es posible.
I've been using an airsoft CO2 pistol as a compressed air blaster. Would one of these work for that purpose?
Uncertain. Can U B more specific - perhaps some revealing links?
I want something where I can release a controlled blast of air from a CO2 cartridge. It doesn't have to behave like an air pistol.
Basically like canned air but with a CO2 cartridge.
I think it's quite possible. Buzz me up at (409) FIZZ-GIZ if you like.
Does the co2 still fit inside an airsoft gun. If so is there a way to buy the refill device and the co2 container. I am just looking into this and I probably won't do anything for a while, but I believe others feel the same way.
Is there one that you can refill for airsoft?
The 16-gram CO₂ bulb in the video was not built for use in AirSoft airguns. But the cartridges used in AirSoft guns can certainly be modified in the same way to be made refillable. I do not make these items commercially. I was hoping to. But an insufficient number of orders have been received to make such an endeavor worthwhile. Bummer.
Hello sir
I want to ask..where i can buy the valve???
Thanks for watching, Adhi. Apologies for late reply - this is an old video. I don't get around to it much anymore. The answer I have to your question will not be of much help, I'm afraid. My attempt to get this product off the ground was a failed entrepreneurial endeavor. I only made about 50 - maybe a hundred. I ended up selling them dirt cheap and giving some away. Lost $$$ on the project.
Although slightly off-topic - but still relevant to CO₂, you may be curious to know of this alternative use of compressed carbon dioxide gas: ua-cam.com/video/nH6a2VL-iK0/v-deo.html
IMAGINE THIS WITH AIRSOFT!
where do u buy those value
Sorry. I do not build and sell the cartridge loaders or the refillable CO₂ bulb. The reason is simple economics. In spite of there being substantial interest in the concept, too few people in buying the product. I was hoping a distributor/retailer might order 500-1000 pieces for resale. Hasn't happened yet.
I have a co2 air pistol and a home Air compressor. For painting and stuff. Could I use the air compressor to fill it up with just air? Would the pistol shoot??
TRUTH DOG You wouldn't get the required pressure from a regular air compressor and compressed air (mostly nitrogen).
At 70 degrees F, CO2 obtains a gas pressure of 852.8 psi when confined in a vessel.
Your air compressor mostly likely would only go up to 150 psi.
aha you could if ud put the cartrige in dry ice - acetone bath
i think not sure ...sum1 look at the table :p
GARLIC I doubt it. I spent many years working at a paintball field and a store, refilling both CO2 and compressed air tanks. Even if it could be done, it wouldn't be safe nor cost effective.
I have a 13ci refillable compressed air tank rated to 3000 psi. It's not much larger or heavier than a powerlet + adapter. I think safety would be the biggest concern, since a valve holding liquid CO2 is not nearly as robust as one designed for 3000 psi or higher.
hmm....maybe put the dry ice in carthrige Oo
very cost effective xD
I have no interest in building one of these, but something about your tools, knowledge, and process was hypnotic.
Watch This Old Tony
they need to mass produce these things like yesterday
I wanted. In spite of there being lots of interested in the video and the concept, there were insufficient takers when it came to offering to purchase.
Doug Thomassen but then CO² sellers would lose $$$
WCIS !!! duck them?
They already do, look on ebay you can buy anything you can imagine.
Awsome
Wow, way beyond my ability to make them, but I would buy them in a heart beat. Awesome, you def need to sell these.
uhhhhh.... you do realize that almost no one has a fucking lathe in their house right
I'm more of a N²O guy than a CO² guy personnally
lol
I would have created an internal thread to thread in a car tyre valve in the mouth of the bottle.
I seen a UA-cam post today. They fill the cartridge with black powder and fuse. Pretty powerful detonation.
In the '70s, I had a Daisy 44 pellet pistol. I built a refillable 12 gram cartridge for it with a schraeder valve stripped from a bicycle tube. I placed the valve towards the bottom of the cartridge so that it would protrude through the grip in the empty space behind the tip of my little finger. This way, I didn't have to remove it from the pistol to refill it. I learned to wait for it to come to room temperature before resuming my target practice, since it would misbehave , giving poor accuracy and speed, otherwise. As a machinist, this is an elegant solution. Thanx.
Thx, Russ. Check this one out... ua-cam.com/video/R5RObSrDlXc/v-deo.html, my latest pressure regulator.
@@MisterFizz
Very interesting seeing this done.
I couldn't use it as it is.
The valve would need to screw into the cartridge with an acceptable compressed gas usage thread.
Glue is not ok.
I'm going to make 10 of these tonight... I have all the tools just laying around
Oh yes gonna do that because i have complete factory in my small apartment.
Certainly. I suppose there are some paintballers left who use the smaller CO² bulbs.
Mister Fizz
If you produced these for CO2 powered airsoft gun you would be raking in the dough
Do these valves provide enough output to power a CO² blowback pistol with a refillable cartridge?
Also, wouldn't it be safer to have cut outs in the valve stem and crimp it into the cartridge neck, using the glue as a sealant only?
The force of compressed gas used as a propellant is proportional to the pressure the gas exerts against the pellet or other projectile being fired. Regardless of the gas used (CO₂, air, other), the pressure inside the cartridge bulb is proportional to the temperature of the gas inside the bulb. At the same pressure, and as long as a sufficient volume of gas is allowed to be discharged at the time of firing, the force exerted by the gas against the projectile should be the same from this co2 cartridge as it would be from any other co2 bulb. If you find that a non-refillable commercially available cartridge you've used has sufficient power to do what you've asked, then this refillable bulb will as well. If non-refillable bulbs aren't powerful enough for your blowback pistol, this bulb will not fix that. Hope that's of some use. Here's a use for compressed carbon dioxide gas you've probably never tried... ua-cam.com/video/nH6a2VL-iK0/v-deo.html
@@MisterFizz Normal one time use bulbs DO work in CO2 guns, but they don't have anything stuck im their neck that could potentially obstruct the flow of CO2 through it and possibly reduce the maximum output to something non-sufficient. That's especially critical for guns that kick the slide back to cycle the gun, like my KWC Desert Eagle. That's why I'm asking. A successful test with that particular gun would indeed mean that most CO2 powered guns would work using CO2 bulbs that have been converted in this way since it's definitely one of the guns that use the most CO2 per shot and thus require a high flow rate.
And I don't think u've answered my question about the seating of the valve yet. With the high pressure inside those bulbs I fear the loctite may not be sufficient to permanently secure the valve and stop it from turning into a high velocity projectile after a whole bunch of refills, since the repeated change in pressure is basically equivalent to repeatedly pushing on the valve from inside. I think crimping the valve in place and using the loctite as a sealant only would be safer than also putting all that pressure on the loctite. Or u could add threading to the valves and cut matching threads into the bulb necks to then screw the valves in,still using loctite as sealant and thread locker.
That's just a suggestion tho, I do have to say I don't really know what that stuff is capable of, it's just the lack of axial supports that makes me think the glue alone could break after a number of refillings.
@@DualDesertEagle You make a good point about having something stuck in the neck that could potentially obstruct the flow of CO2 through it. I never tested a refillable bulb in a pellet gun of any sort. Since your question deserves a real answer based upon firsthand experience, a guess would be unreliable and inappropriate. And I did completely overlook the 2nd part of your Q re: use of glue only to secure the valve body in the cartridge. Oops. After the video was made, we began threading the outside of the valve body and tapping the inside of the cartridge neck with matching threads to provide a more secure connection. The result was a safer implementation, for certain. If the glue joint failed, the shear strength of the threads made for a good backup strategy, providing a pathway for gas to vent and averting a projectile.
@@MisterFizz Good to know, coz if I ever get myself a CO2 powered gun again I'll definitely consider using this system, provided it works. If ur gonna test it I recommend the most CO2 hungry gun u can find to really find out the potential of this stuff.
Good tutorial thanks.
Pleasure to listen to.
Original idea is brilliant.
Looks like an accident waiting to happen! If the glued in valve decided to part company it would be like a bullet exiting.
Yeah I'm not trusting glue to hold something under high pressure to save a few cents cheap enough to buy new ones
Big difference between Loctite 680 and glue. The only way that valve is coming out is if you put way too much pressure to it or heat it red with a torch.

Perhaps silver soldering the valve body in would be safer...perhaps a threaded Schrader valve body.
This is a good example of how we could safe loads of resources and money… BUT companies don´t care because finally they would lose money. Kind of sad…

Cool, but that CO2 will dissolve your teeth enamel and you'll eventually get cavities on the sides of your teeth and end up with about a new crown every year after age 50. Will this refillable CO2 bulb fit all the hand-held black banana-shaped FiZZ GiZ CO2 dispensers? I'm talking about the ones that are sold on the FizzGiz website and elsewhere. I understand you are a small business. About how many FiZZ GiZ customers are there and how many of them own this refillable CO2 cartridge?
Robert Stine Yup. FiZZ GiZ is a small biz with fewer than 10K customers worldwide. Only about twenty customers own my Refillable CO2 Bulb. Beta testing has been promising. Alternative product offers have been few and far between in the past several years. It has not previously been feasible for me to tool up for the task of building them. I need at least a thousand interested customers to justify a production run. I may explore crowdfunding to find out if sufficient demand exists. Anyone who wants a refillable bulb and fill station should tell me: MrFizz@FizzGiz.com
This is fucking dangerous!
Well done. Just one suggestion:
Use a 3/16" end cutting end mill for the first pass - slowly, and with the
tailstock quill as short as possible. This should make a clean starter
hole with no runout. :-)
What’s so difficult with buying co2 it’s like 3 dollars for 5
How long can I leave the CO2 in the my CR 357 after s few shots? It will be dangerous for the gun ?
Until it leaks out. And yes, it will leak out. CO2 will leak out of a pet soda bottle sitting on the grocery store shelf - right through the bottle wall.
