  • A short travel documentary shot in run&gun style, unscripted, using Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K & SIRUI 35mm F1.8 1.33x Anamorphic Lens.
After almost four weeks, I have to say, Greenland has certainly left a lasting impression on me - a place where time seems to stand still. I've witnessed the magnificence of the endless ice cap, the majesty of the floating icebergs, and the serenity of the vast Arctic wilderness. Greenland's isolation has preserved a way of life that is both fascinating and inspiring - especially hearing stories about people's deep connection to the land and understanding how they live their daily life, even with dogs as their companions. The rugged beauty of the Greenlandic landscape is a constant reminder of nature's power, where even summers are cold, with just a few degrees above zero and a crisp, omnipresent Arctic air. In winter, there is nothing else than darkness and bone-chilling frost. I wanted to share my travel story with you to become inspired too, to go out of your comfort zone and explore - go out in the world, but preserve nature and people's traditions, learn about them and importantly, be conscious about your footprint.

Extremely well done..Looks like top-of-the-Line cinematography, with great, simplistic storytelling. This was the first documentary I have seen on Greenland, after learning of the original history.

Your hand held shots are very steady. What’s your secret?

hey Philip! I would say the secret is the camera stabilization in DaVinci Resolve :)

@@wormifilms its because I haven’t been able to take advantage of all features of this camera and before watching your video my BMPCC was stocked getting dust, that’s why I said your video has been so inspiring for me

Quite beautiful, Daniel! Nice to see more videos with not only the P4K (which I've had for a while) but especially the SIRUI 35mm, which I just got! Really great combo of hardware, eh?

Thank you so much! I am amazed by the combo of bmpcc4k and the SIRUI lens. Wanna see your work later on!

@@wormifilms Sure! I've been re-editing a short film over the last few days and most of the shots are with this exact combo. The SIRUI is almost like "...if a Sigma 18-35 and an anamorphic adapter had a baby it would be a SIRUI 35mm f1.8!" 😁

@@gregrebuck3585 that's true haha, I was considering Sigma at first even with a speedbooster, but I love anamorphic, so I went for it even it has some drawbacks when shooting run&gun style.. but let me see your work once you have it finished! :)

@@danielmichalik_ I'm about to get this lens and would love to know the drawbacks! Also - If you don't mind my asking - What is the FOV of the 35mm on the BMPCC4K? Like how far away were you from the guy at 0:42? or the bed shot at 9:00?
I really want this lens, but am a little worried about the fov.
      Thanks in advance!

@@khaledf.abdullah hey! thanks for asking! To be honest it's hard to say, for the 0:42 maybe 2.5 metres, the one at 9min mark a little bit more, the camera was on a tripod on the other side of a hotel room, say 3.5 metres.
The main drawbacks? Well, the closest you can get to an object is 0.85 metres, yet honestly I would say there are no major ones. Naturally, there is no inbuilt stabilization, but as you can see the software stabilization in Davinci Resolve works so well to fix it. Also, the focus wheel is smoothly turning, and it takes quite a turn to go from 0.85m to "infinity" which I like compared to what I had previously on a Nikon lens. Another thing: for the price it's just amazing, but beware it's only 1.33 instead of say 1.6 or even 2, so you get the anamorphic look with bokeh and natural lens flare, but not as amazing as in those very pro lenses. But yeah, count with the 33% wider FOV. Yet, great value for money and you can see I shot the whole movie on 35mm, so it's kind of universal too, especially if you love wide shots :) I definitely recommend - but ask if you have any other questions!
