How is the turbine housing on that precision turbo? looked like it's not the smoothest anymore wouldn't sspin with just starting compression and stopped real quick once you turned it off? maybe the exhaust spewed some internals into the turbine?

Yeah. I said that in the last video too. Every time I've seen a dropped valve on a turbo car it made the turbine wheel look like it took a shotgun blast.

I would say since it will be a drag only oriented car they should go with compound turbos. They dont have to worry that much on turbo lag so coumpounds would be sick and different!!! And it makes a lot of boost

Did you clean out the oil feed and return? That turbo is done for.
That's what I was thinking when he was talking about the pan being dirty asf.
It wasn't even spinning after he shut it off. A precision BB turbo spins for a good 30+ seconds after shutdown. Even journal bearing turbos spin for a good bit after shutdown.
I had to scroll too far down to find someone mention this. That turbo is toast, and the missed metal shavings may cause a spun rod bearing or worse.

I don't think it has a ball bearing center section, those stop once you turn off the engine

possible some bits of the valve went into the turbo damaging the impeller

First off let me say love the videos very entertaining. I’ve been subscribed and watching you since the end of last year. I’ve done the things your doing going on almost 20 years now. But on this one I would strongly recommend that you take your intake manifold off and check it for debris from the blow up. Like really good take the throttle body off and look in it. You will take out the motor you just put in and have done all that work for nothing. Also check the turbo exhaust wheel. I can almost guarantee it’s shredded. Not trying to give you a hard time just speaking from experience. Ask Brent his opinion he’s been around the block before. I really hope you get this message before you start ripping on it.

I'd venture to guess there is debris in the shaft housing where the oil feeds into the turbo as well. They need to have the whole turbo checked by Precision, as well as checking the intake, etc. themselves like you mentioned.
Ah don’t worry. He’s just making sure he is set up to give us more content when it grenades again from all the trash still in there. Make sure to bring the tool with his ass hanging out for the next go round also.

Yeah, thats crazy but it will work and make double the power of 1 engine. Clutch will be destroyed xD But 2kz seems better than 4 broken lada's engines in 1 lada xD
@@pilot554 those lada engines are only 40hp. May have issues with the double k engine because the crankshaft on the engine connected to the transmission will need to handle the power of both engines. Should be interesting.

Might be able to kill a Honda, but it doesn't take too long to get it running again.
Not sure if you guys had this planned, but just as a heads up, you'll probably want to touch up the tune as the K20A is a bit different than the K20A2 from the RSX. Compression is up from 11.0 to 11.5, and I believe the cams are a little different too.

Yes that looks like the one that's closer to the usdm k20A3 which means no vtec on the exhaust side and weaker rods definitely won't be making the same power as b4 or Rodney will make and appearance
Yup it is a base rsx k20a basicaly. I think those come in the ep3
the engine is trash at this point anyway. watch that turbo not spin when hes trying to start it even when it coughs it doesnt budge, then when its idling the motor hiccups and the turbine wheel almost stops and as soon as he shuts it off it stops spinning instantly. now go watch cleetus precision turbo spin for a whole minute after shutting off. even just at idle it spins for at least 30 seconds that motor is not gonna last long. at the very least the turbo is gonna die soon unless he got extremely lucky
With that kind of compression ratio, no wonder they destroyed it on stock internals at that kind of horsepower. I thought boost tuning gets to be razor edge at high CR, and cast pistons pretty much shatter immediately with that kind of detonation possible. Also, no mention of checking ring end gaps, because pinching a ring is probably going to be the quickest way to parts bin that engine, followed closely by flushing the trash out of that turbo back into the engine.

I don't think they have customer work as a revenue stream like the PFi crew do so they have to keep content rolling while they get their shop squared away.

Man I hope it don't go in the supra! Honda engine in a supra is blasphemy! They should start messing around with more of the Jap v8's like the 1uz and 3ur from the tundra if they want more displacement to play with. But those engines are expensive to play with. I've got a 1uzfe on the stand ready to go in my mk2 supra. About 130lbs lighter than the inline 6 its replacing and 100 plus more horsepower and torque in stock form.
Those Japanese v8s can’t handle what 2 k series will. They are doing it because it will look awesome and sound awesome. If 1 is good than 2 will be even better.
@@matthemberry haha your delusional! There is 1500hp 1uz's and Toyota built a 2500+hp land cruiser with the 3ur. Only thing a K series has on either of those engines is head flow. Other than that they can't shake a stick at those v8's I mentioned. Like I said before, they are super expensive and the aftermarket is limited. Only reason they don't get used as much in swaps. Plus they are way lighter than two k series put together. Last thing a heavy mk3 needs is a 4cylinder powerband trying to propel it.

Hello, *for breakfast this morning* I had the day off so I treated myself to french toast and scrambled eggs. I used 4 slices of Thicc Texas toast and was sure to mix in some Cinnamon and vanilla extract. I was out of syrup so I went with crunchy peanut butter & sweet n condensed milk. I added tapatio hot sauce and shredded Colby jack on the eggs and washed it all down with a cold glass of milk. And yes the feast held me over til noon, God Bless America. Overall a 10/10 today! -Breakfast Guy

Cleaning an engine with a wire wheel, painting it black on top of all the crap on it while soaking the shop floor with everything you can get out of an engine. Not mentioning using an impact gun as a torque wrench.

Just wondering how that oil pressure sensor works? Taped into the turbo feed line the oil would just find the easiest path and go straight past it I know there's a restrictor in the turbo but it wouldn't see the proper oil pressure

Hey what's going on bro, I have an unrelated question. I swapped my ek coupe a couple months back from d16 to a b20 and now I'm about to go b20v. Question is do I need a vtec waterpump with timing belt or is the b20 one good. I had put a brand new one when I did the swap. Thanks in advance.
