That might not be the right way…….but it’s so much faster than the right way and as long as you’re not selling it and just getting it back out to have fun then it was 100% the right choice 👍
I love that old expression, perfection is the enemy of good. I have a friend that just gets so carried away with that last detail and I have to tell him Joe this is a flipper we have to put our tools away and put the for sale sign on it we can't just keep detailing it.
Great work. Nothing wrong with being realistic on the amount of detail you are willing to put into a project based on practicality. Could you show how you dealt with the runs?
I’m a fan. You have more than proven you skills however I love seeing real world work for beaters, daily drivers or second toy where other toys get the money. Making it “better” is what many can strive for. I like the diversity of you vids. I would love to see you do the Tremclad spray. Paint costs are stupid and single stage DTM can be a “ better” job for many. I would love to see your approach.
Great job Tony. More often than not to comment I often hear from young people wanting to get into the hobby is that it is way too expensive for them to be able to afford, it can be if you fall into the good better best trap. This is an excellent example of how to get into the old auto hobby without going broke. Not every hot rod needs A $10,000 paint job. You will have more fun with an old beater than you ever will with a show car. I am speaking from many many years of experience. My four-door beater 57 Chevy has been the most fun I’ve ever had with a old car. My show cars, not so much ....
Ever since you made mention of that primer (and i was finally able to locate a supplier) I've been using it for various projects. I was only able to get it in light gray or white...but that's fine. It works very well and the price (at least the last time I got any) was very reasonable. I don't recall if you have a paint shaker or not... but I was informed by a long time body shop owner he shakes his filler before using to make it smoother. I tried it to see if it would make any difference. I must say i was impressed and have been using that 'trick' ever since. No pinholes.... just nice smooth consistency.
I love the “Masking Tape” bandage on your thumb. LOL on that since I have done that myself. ( small pice of shop paper towel & masking tape ) stops the bleeding 👍😄👌😎😎
Looks like a princess auto spray gun that you are using. Great idea using the garbage bags to cover the wheels, I was using tire covers, but garbage bags much cheaper. You have had that car for awhile now, still looking great, nice to see the body work that you use to do in the past. Other than the minor run, body work looks great. Thanks for sharing.
Often with those old rust buckets, the floors and body mounts are also rusted to shit. The last thing you need is the seat going through the floor while driving.
Hey Tony, I'll trade you a case automotive "Run Be Gone" for a marine case of "Rock Off"! I'll need it for my 52 Styleline Deluxe. Thanks for all the informative videos.
Hi Tony. Nice progress on the 51. I think it would have taken me a couple weeks to get that far. The way the black sanded down, you could tell it was pretty tough stuff. I wonder if you can buy that paint in the States.
Yeah Tony I need to get some of that anti run. Where do you pick that up 🤣 You Canadians have access to all that good stuff that we can't get here in America😂
what ever keeps her on the road for the next fella. too many good runners get taken apart and never get put back together because they are too far gone
From the online Oxford dictionary: "A soft, moist mass of material, typically of plant material or flour, applied to the body to relieve soreness and inflammation and kept in place with a cloth."
She looks terrible with the blue and black paint 😂😂 She’s looking good I think you’re going about it the right way instead of having it apart for God knows how long 👍
It’s hell when your brother-in-law comes over and wants to paint.
I can also see that you didn’t have any rummy be gone
It’s good to see personal projects getting attention too. That’s gonna be real nice when finished
Doin the same basically to my 94 GMC............Rock On😎
That's a good idea with the tire covers made from garbage bags. I must remember that.

just remember that a $10k paint job is probably $9k in prep work. It's all about the details!
"Run be gone"! 😂 I gotta see if my local paint shop has some of that because every can of paint I get has runs in it.😅
She's looking good Tony!
Loved the poultice method, and I hope I never need it!
Your brother had too many paint fumes I think! 🤣 that made me cackle
She's ready for the show circuit!
Reminds me of my 51 hardtop I had in high school in 62-63.
Seems like every paint can I buy has runs included. Thanks for sharing.
We use that paint in Australia for structural steel , very good strong paint

Fitzee, you are a magician. I wish I could live near by and offer my help for free so I could learn just a little of what you can do.
You're HILARIOUS!!! Your imitation of a drunk goober was awesome!!!
Loves it! Also love the Newfoundland Band-Aid on your thumb. Lol.
She’s coming along nicely
She’s looking pretty darn nice Tony 😎
I like it , thanks for giving the skinny on the,"Taxi" paint job . Took years and years to work out this strategy . Thanks again Tony!
I love the “Masking Tape” bandage on your thumb. LOL on that since I have done that myself. ( small pice of shop paper towel & masking tape ) stops the bleeding 👍😄👌😎😎
Nice work Fitzee, look foreward to the next instalment .!!
Thanks Tony, this is a nice little quick series on the Flip Side!
Take care 👍💪✌

Would look nice in the blue primer. I'm sure your done with the satin black by now. It's nice to see the shortcuts. Thanks.
Looks great. I can't wait for the TremClad top coat
Nice. I like blue.
Watching you do the body work and priming it the wheel covers are top notch good luck on your steering fix thumbs up 👍👍👍👍👍
Nice Work.

GREAT series Tony Thank you
She looks good in blue Fitzy bah! Change it up?
I really like how you show us the mistakes, drips, etc and let us see that that kind of stuff happens to everyone
This is a neat old car.
Looks great,
getting it done..
Good job, a nice driver!😊
She’ll be beautiful
Good one
I love your twin brother😂😅😊😢
You got it now tony shes mint
I always say no job is complete without a boo boo or two.
Often with those old rust buckets, the floors and body mounts are also rusted to shit. The last thing you need is the seat going through the floor while driving.
I'm sure that's one of the first things he inspected, especially up north where he lives.
All that is fine. It's been repaired and passes my safety inspection
good show😎👍
Fitzee, what's holding you up from getting your lift working??
"Run-be-Gone?" Isle 4...
You need a fleetline sedan to go with it. They are cool looking fastback design.
Have one! The chopped on up on ceiling

Hahaha
There’s always one more spot 😂😂
Hi Tony. Nice progress on the 51. I think it would have taken me a couple weeks to get that far. The way the black sanded down, you could tell it was pretty tough stuff. I wonder if you can buy that paint in the States.
Rustoleum is much the same
@@fitzeesfabrication.thefl-nf7hp Thank you!
She's Mint !
Love the content Fitzee. Question, is tremclad able to have a clear coat sprayed over the top?
Yes.
How's your garden?
I see you have a green thumb 👍
Garden?? Lots of grass!! Lol
Yeah Tony I need to get some of that anti run. Where do you pick that up 🤣 You Canadians have access to all that good stuff that we can't get here in America😂
Factory metal quarter panel. ;)
I think this has been a superb mini series, but how do complete amateurs like me know what it is safe to fill and what needs to be done with metal?
Ask yourself. Will this rusty section cause any failure in the drive ability of the car? No? Muck it up. Yes? Weld it up..
Looks good. Do you go underneath or behind filler and seal it?
Yes I will seam sealer it
Good job cleaning up that mess.
I love the comment about run begone. Does that come in a tube or jar that I can add to my paint when I shoot my car?
Hahaha
We must have much drive time before we die
Great show to watch
Should just leave it in that blue and see how long that primer lasts plus I like that blue
what ever keeps her on the road for the next fella. too many good runners get taken apart and never get put back together because they are too far gone
What are the mechanicals in this car. It has a nice stance.
Looks like the fan adjustment on the gun isn’t wide enough. Just a thought. 💯
I know. Just trying to keep the coverage small
@@fitzeesfabrication.thefl-nf7hp then turn down the flow and you should have less runs ! Love the car !!! 💯
Nice enough
That's the worst part of the bodywork done, now you're almost ready for paint and it will be finished.
Job & a half.
10:19 Fitzee's mix: 4:1:0.5 interseal to activator to "thinner" (Acetone? Xylene?)
15:10 (Ether?)
Good automotive thinners.
I am confused, you and Bondo Billy have very different spray patterns?
He get runs too?? Lol
I hope after this one you do the custom that you started years ago.
That's wall art right now. I stopped buy projects and just want to get what I have done. That one most likely will be the last one in a list of 4! Lol
I see non-stock cooling components in the grill. What's the running gear?
267 V8 T350 transmission with a 10 bolt chevy out back. Front suspension is mustang II
leave it blue for a year
Did you have a retirement party for Devilbiss JGA paint gun? LOL
Lol. That's still around. Going use it on this one when I paint
👍😁
You didn't explain where the name Poltus cameee from. I'd love to know.
From the online Oxford dictionary: "A soft, moist mass of material, typically of plant material or flour, applied to the body to relieve soreness and inflammation and kept in place with a cloth."
Poultice.
Can any color paint be us d as a primer without adding promer to the paint
This is a primer. Not a paint
Nice work Tony. With all your talent and resources it’s time to ditch the flat black.
It was satin and sorry.I like the look.
I think if you'd have fanned the pattern out more, and had a bit more air pressure, you'd not had the runs lol. And no orange peel.
Ya I was trying to keep the primer from going over everything. Reason I had it turned in
@@fitzeesfabrication.thefl-nf7hptotally understand Fitzee!
Wow blue?
Same primer he used on the Mustang...
@@boatnut64 yes it is the same one I wanted to see His response But what ever
