- This was an unplanned episode done within the span of 3days after our first victory against Extreme Behemoth. This followup covers some basic strategies on taking on the Extreme behemoth!(you maybe wondering why I didn't cover phase4 of the hunt cause thats the meta-joke. most never make it pass phase3 lol D:)
for more in detail walkthroughs, there are much better in-dept guides all over UA-cam now. This is just a simple reminder/guide on taking on the Extreme Behemoth.
The FF-style animation was originally meant to be my main behemoth animation planned back then, but I scrap it and do that 10min long monstrosity instead. But now I finally get to work on this idea briefly!
This episode was more on the un-used jokes and scenarios that I could not fit into the main behemoth animation.
I'm done with MHWorld shots series for now again until the next major update...

Epic as all hell, amazing work again man, makes me think a MH game with 16bit FF battlesystem and graphics could work extremely well even today (^^)b
Just a personal touch to the build for a bit more versatility: I'd drop slugger decos, go Luna Headset alfa and Vaal coil gamma, so we exchange Tool 2 and 2 lv2 slots with Tool 1, Recovery speed 2, Dragon Attack 1 (some may like this) and 3 lv1 slots (good for anyone, for HBG maxing Quick Sheat might be worth it, True Shot too maybe if it's lv1, don't remember... ^^; )

When Behemoth casts his Ecliptic Meteor, I've seen some guys teleport-bomb back to camp and sit at the cantine, using the emotes to pretend and be busy, and they actually survived !
Depends on timing. Ive tried actually doing that but during ecliptic meteor you're not allowed to use items at all. So you're only chance at phase 3 is to use the XIV jump emote
Don’t forget sitting at a table. Those things are built to last.

I got EXTREMELY lucky being able to clear this, a bunch of amazing Japanese players heeded my SOS and we were able to take it down. I couldn't thank them enough.
Japanese players are nice in this game.
Lucky you I've gotten idiots mostly and 2 out of 3 keep dying by standing around doing nothing and I'm one of the randoms who contribute mostly but gets screwed over by LS and bowgun users when I try a mount attack

Edit: For the 5 minute countdown part, I could also recommend "Persecution of the Masses" from Shin Godzilla. It's exactly 5 mins long, and composed by the same guy who did the soundtrack for Evangelion. :3

i think persecution of the masses is quite fitting in song length but also the utter hopelessness that calamity is about to befall(quite literally...im talking about the comets and meteors) us hunters lol

Or if I should recommend, even though I’m extremely late, and not even would call myself a vet, It has to be this way from Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, if you want a song to back you up and don’t give you hopelessness(Which I personally don’t like, but it’s fine if others does). The exact song is quite short, but there should be a video that’s at least 5 minutes long. It should be enough.

This fight for me is the ultimate example of game designers being so determined to make something difficult that they fail to make it actually fun.
The Behemoth fight is a fun challenge. This fight is an utter headache if you don’t have three reliable friends who already know what to do.
yup, behemoth was well balanced and most memorable, ex-behemoth was a slog, they tried too hard to make it hard.
tip: in case you fail the DPS check watch the animation. Initiate the jump when Behemoth slams down to the floor. If done correctly you will teleport to his head.
Whats your strategy in defeating behemoth in that classic Final Fantasy RPG battle setup?
The hunters probably have to get their ATB speed stats boosted for this fight firstly...
NCHProductions My strategy is to turn off the ps4 , 100% works every time!
Always cast hastega before battle.
Make sure you have auto-life on as well.
All I know is I would by that mobile game in a second.
star curtain and protectga are very important
2 Charge Blade Damage dealers (So they can block as well), Styx HBG tank and a HH Support with Quicksheath/Widerange

Throw Jikai Yokoku in a playlist after Bataille Decisive for optimal happiness/sadness at the end of DPS check.
My madlad of a friend managed to solo extremoth pre-iceborne.
He naturally didn't clear the DPS check but he kept timing the Jump emote and eventually picked it up anyway.
Duuude. The final fantasy and evangelion themes were amazing. And you always gotta love the adorable fighting scenes of wobbling around and flipping. Fantastic as always.

I could only do it with the HBG Cluster cheese. I've never used that method before, but without a coordinated team of amazing players there's no other way. The DPS check at PH3 is absurd.

In all my hunts I’ve never seen anyone used that ghille explosions. Hahaha, if I didn’t already beat Extremoth I’d be using that. That quest is one and done XD
that tactic was so hilarious and inspiring to me that it was the very scene that I wanted to animate and that made me rush this animation out.

That Final Fantasy fight sequence was god damn epic. Well done!
Also, "Bataille Decisive" is a pretty fitting moment for the Phase 3 fight, despite that it's only 4 minutes and 15 seconds long. It's not as chaotic, but it feels more triumphant in knowing it's almost over and your next actions determine victory or defeat.
Man, I really love this animation style.

After finally taking him down i just gotta say how spot on you were about the healer. Chugging potions and adamant seeds like no tomorrow! Always flying back to camp to restock and getting a heart attack when someone rushes to the next area without waiting for me to restock! Wish i knew about the phase 2 bombing strat, phase 2 and 4 are the most annoying. Thank god everyone had guts or we would have lost phase 4

From what I've seen, a well timed farcaster can save you from the ecliptic meteor, as in a sense you no longer have a hitbox during that short cutscene

You die to eclipse. But its just 1 dead because other 3 player not in your game anymore.
You win.
Now you know why host disconnect.
Edited: well just want to share this because it might help when you don't find your teammate reliable - disconnect then you win with 1/0 faint or you might failed with 4 faint.
Btw, when eclipse show itself, all character will do a 'fear' animation. Jump immediately after the animation finished, then its a perfect jump which deal extra damage to its face. Don't do this at last phase though unless you have no choice, because bahemoth is not dead for first 2 eclipse and it might attack you while you are still in the animation.
Its actually Ecliptic meteor, and he does it three times in a row on the final phase , so that exploit doesn't work

That's what I did at the final meteor 2 carts left with our one and only comet been destroyed. I thought that I was the only one to think of this method on the very last moment when the meteor fall goddamn it hahaha...
Damn it we had no carts and insurance at the last phase and he did the last eclipse and everyone messed up and we dodged the first 2 man if I would have thought of this I'm so stupid
One friend of mine once had to run to turn off his modem to disconnect because he and 2 other guys were far from the comet during the last ecliptic meteor. He succeded. He carted, but he was alone, so he won, the others didn't

Out of the 100 ex behemoth quests ive done (yes 100 i checked) I have only carted 15 times. Meaning the people i team up with have died the other 285 times without factoring in felyne insurance....

Truly an RNG game, the only time I beat it was because the dream team party was formed, a glutton who tanked and taked enmity, a sns healer who kept the tank alive and took def down debuff, a HH user who upped my damage and def of the tank and me as cluster DPS.
Godzilla lol nvm... I just did it with HBG x3 and one GL...

In pc I'm still on the regular one. I've hunted like 30 or 40 behemoths and only killed 4, and one of those was kind of unfair because the host was lagging as hell, so behemoth was too, and it did one attack and then stood still for 10 secs, so it was free, we killed him in 6 mins. And it's always the same. People that dies because of oneshots, that are far away from ecliptics, etc. When I die, it can be because of 3 possible things as I always go as support: I die because I get focused, one of those times that behemoth casts a meteor, it hits you, then you get up and he hits you with the 360 slap and then he does another attack when you get up again, which leads to the second option, no one helps the healer, as he's the one supporting and healing, no one heals and helps the healer when he's down. The last one are bullshit ecliptics that kill me while I'm behind the comet, literally between my hunt mates, and I die and they don't. But casul randoms are a pain in the ass. Is it so hard to bring a more or less proper set and know what you're hunting and how

I would actually recommend saving your sleeps, ideally two of them, for phase 4.
He goes absolutely nuts in that phase and has an attack that's basically a one-hit kill. Sleep him in phase 4 just to do a lot of burst damage and shorten the phase as much as possible, because it's basically a battle of attrition, and you are NOT going to outdamage him over time.
Also only 30 min. Time limit.
Same with para, basically if you are using cluster for damage (which you should) bring zorah's HBG and spam sleep and paralisis in phase 4.

Great tips! Never would ha e thought of Ghillie Mantle at the start of Phase 2. Love it! A couple other tips I might add are:
1) For the love of all that is holy, CUT THE TAIL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! It simply makes the fight go smoother. His poke tail whip no longer causes wind stun, his spinning tail whip is soooo much less deadly, and the range of his tail attacks is significantly reduced. This should go without saying, but I frequently fight him with randoms who don't do this.
2) Not a necessity, but a big recommendation. Learn the timing of the Jump Gesture. It's actually simple enough to practice. Get behind a comet and use it when you see his head start to drop. If you succeed, great! If not, you have the comet to protect you. You can tell if you timed it right by whether or not you moved to his head.

I know because I've been playing with SOS again and again for 5 days now, and it's usually an entire arena of wind, death, and waking a sleeping behemoth with a sticky or bow normal shot because rarely does anyone call sleep, let alone the 2x boulder damage wake up.
