Thanks for putting in layman's terms it was clear and straight to the point. I have a s8+ and a lot of these electronic stores don't carry the dex station, on the pad dex, and I was told numerous times from the tech guys it's only for S9 etc so I did my research and also came across this video and come to find out they finally looked it up and found out its compatible with my phone it even says in the box in fine print so I was able to feel reassured that I new what I was talking about arguing with tech guys in best buy lol so anyhow bought it hooked it works great keep the videos coming I've already subscribed two thumbs up

I tried it but it was not a good controller for me that’s why I didn’t mention. I found that mouse pointer was all over the place and think some people would get frustrated, but you’re right and thanks for contributing 😁👍🏽

And people keep making videos about how to mirror the screen. I don't want to mirror the screen onto anything. I want to use keyboard and mouse right from the phone. business opportunity here for someone to make a clip on designed for this to attach (adjustable) on top of the monitor so you have the phone as pc and webcam while all the cables are hidden, cleanest setup on the go and more functional, unless you really need to use the screen as trackpad that is
absolutely false.i use it with a cheap hdmi adapter and only selected in connection-advanced-dex output you can choose hdmi(mirror) or dex output. without 5v input it goes in hdmi mode only...you just need an HDMI USB c powered hub and you get both after oreo.no need anymore of samsung dex station...and even before there were to n of cheap Chinese hub with same chip used by dex station and it worked perfectly.now there is no fear in buying the wrong one...they will work all seamlessly
The problem no one remembers is that if you have a case on your phone it's impossible to put it in the usb port without having to keep taking off the case.

You should be able to see your screen and use a keyboard/mouse combo to unlock

I was told at a Samsung official store, that the new Dex is NOT compatible with the Note 8. Have you tried it on a Note 8?

The den pad has a hdmi output so you would need to get an hdmi to vga or hdmi to dvi adapter if it has it and you should be fine

the DeX pad will not output any video if you did not use a samaung charger.
I personally only use the original chargers, search oem Samsung fast charger on amazon or eBay pretty cheap.
