- 3x921B vcos mixed in CP3A-M into 904B and 904A filters into 902 vca (2x 911 envelope generators with upgraded pots) into 914 fixed filter bank into another CP3A-M to bring the levels back and out to Mackie mixer with delay and reverb. Behringer system 55 modules and Eventide FX. This is the sound of the 70's I was looking for... Update: I like the sound of these filter banks so much I am getting another so I can have a stereo output with shifted imagery from a mono source. The only hassle is having to manually adjust the pots if you want real time changes in timbre.
Here is my newer video using two 914s :
• It Breathes!
I have the original (inductors-based) and this one comes very close. Good job.
I have (2) FFB's and they are indeed awesome sonic tools but your right about the static knob settings being a disappointment. Someone should develop a FFB that records all it's Pot values in real time for playback - asynchronous or synced w/ a clock source. I'm really surprised this hasn't happened as I think it would be very popular.
There are a couple for CV filter banks on the market with more features with envelope followers and vca's. ADDAC601 FilterBank is moderately priced, then there's Frap Tools Fumana and Bark Filter from Verbos and a Spectrum from Sputnik Modular these are close to the $1k range. 😊
Yes!
It makes my ears twitch when I turn those knobs
I have a Crave, a Werkstatt, and a Microfreak. I'm thinking I can use this to get a lot more sound out of them. I guess I will need a eurorack of some kind. I'm really new to all of this, but I just want something to make some cool music with. Thanks!
FFB adds acoustic resonances to existing sounds like the body of a cello or violin and it depends on the style of music you are making whether this is a good first venture in to the euro rack habit.
This is a Moog Model 15.... They're like 10 grand a pop, lol. Eurorack is a little cheaper, but it's still pretty pricey gear. But yeah, go crazy
@@joedarrow5422 Im pretty sure its the behringer system 55 hehe
They've got to make a stereo FFB!
you could use two ffbs maybe and run l through one and r through the other?
AJh Synth has FFB 914, with stereo outputs, alternating 6 bands for left, and 6 bands for right, and can crossfade manually or with CV. I've sent each into a mixer strip and it does sound very nice.
do you place the FFB at the end of the chain or before the vcf?
There are no fixed rules but I generally have it at the end of the chain before delays and reverb
