I love this type of decluttering content. About 5 years ago, I was living in a 3 bedroom house with 2 car garage and I couldn’t even park in my garage because it was full up to the ceiling. I started slowly getting rid of stuff. A large portion was thrown, at least 20 car loads to donation. I also sold a bunch of it too. I worked on this off and on over 5 years. I’ve downsized to a small 2 bedroom house and I can find everything I own. Which means I don’t buy multiples because I can’t find what I need. My 2 car garage now is empty except the mower and a few other things. I feel such freedom now!! I had hung onto memorabilia, awards, etc for over 30 years from high school and I took pictures of those items as a keepsake and then discarded them. If I buy or receive something, then something has to go in order to keep it at a manageable amount that I’m comfortable with. Going through this process is the best gift I’ve ever given myself.
You are so right. When we have too much unneeded things it does weigh you down. It’s so nice to know where to find what you are looking for because like you said, the things you own are manageable. It’s a great accomplishment and now when you walk in the garage that you probably use to avoid, gives you a sense of pride and enjoyment when you note go in the garage. We are stewards of what we have been blessed with and not having too much to manage makes us better stewards😊 Thank you so much for sharing your story. It will be an inspiration to others ❤️❤️❤️ You can do it. One box, one shelf, one corner, one drawer at a time!
Great tips!
Thank you LaDonna! Thanks for watching and commenting😊❤️
Another great video. I want to make a suggestion so UA-cam can recommend your content to everyone. The title for your videos can be something like this..
Tips for decluttering | Simply Living Tiny | Episode 4.
This helps people if they want to go back and watch a particular episode. UA-cam is all about hashtags and titles. I hope this helps 🧡
Yes. Thank you. Would I need to include all of the wording in my thumbnail? I’m still trying to figure it all out. 😀
@@simplylivingtiny No not thumbnail. Your thumbnails are pretty. I meant the caption/title. Where you have written Simply Living Tiny Episode 4. If you add what that episode is about it’ll be great and attract more people.
Thank you for the suggestion. I have been using your suggestion ❤️
Thank you for the info.
You’re welcome 😊 Thank you for watching and hope it was helpful❤️
Great video! I'm in the 'it has crept up on me stage', and yes it does seem overwhelming to say the least. I do usually have a daily check on this, but some family deaths and health issues put me back. Thanks for the tips and encouragement, have a great day!🌹🦋🌹
Sorry to hear about the deaths in your family and health concerns. You are right, life happens and some times we have to put things on the back burners because others things take priority. Prayers for you and your family Hazel🙏 I hope you have a great day too ❤️
I feel like we could be friends lol. I’m a not one to hold on to things either. My mom was raised in the depression and kept everything. I drove her crazy. As I’ve said before I love your home. Great job on #4
Sounds like we have a lot in common. My Nanny grew up in the Great Depression and if there was just 1 bite of food left over she would save it. My mom holds on to everything too. LOL. 😂
I’m planning to go tiny when I retire in a few years. I know the declutterring will be hard. I hate having strangers come over to buy items I’m trying to sell. It scares me. I might have an estate sale instead. I would put the stuff I plan to take to my tiny home into one of those moving pods and then have the estate sale people sell the rest. The great part is they haul off everything that doesn’t sell also.
That is great information. I have not heard about this service. Thank you for sharing the information with us. ❤️
Thank you. Have a great day!
Thank you for watching and I hope you have a great day too 😊

I've been doing this for a couple of months now. I pack for the tiny house move, then I unpack and repack again. I have purged alot by donating to a local place in town that gives things to people. I have given family members plenty of stuff. I have a hard time with art supplies, that's my downfall. I keep working on it. Hoping to be in by the end of August.
A very exciting time. Since you have difficulty letting go of your art you may want to wait until you get your home and then decide what art pieces work well in your space. You can also see if someone you trust can store the ones you don’t use and change it up at times to refresh the space. A few ideas for you😊 Congratulations on your new home❤️
@@simplylivingtiny Thank you! I'm very excited to move in!
@@jennyhughes6597 I’m very happy for you! An exciting time❤️
