Someone mentioned you should open a second hand gown site in your city. I was thinking: Chana? A second hand store?? Yeah, right. Homeschooler, 4 kids( so far) involved in Temple and all the holidays, makes everything from scratch ( good for you😀) Hubby seems to be really busy, I’ll guess your Channa time is taking a shower with at least one little yelling “ mommy” , busy with crafts, some it seems for school, some for temple activities, some just because, keeps a beautiful home, drives kids all over, one child is gluten free, so I say yes, all you need a a clothing shop to give you just a little extra thing to do. Let’s see, in most peoples day there are 24 hours, in your day, I don’t know how to do “ firefly math” but I come up with a 36 hour day. Oh and let’s not forget taking care of a 🐕 dog. Don’t forget, kids not quite old enough ( IMO) to stay home alone, so we all go with mom to Costco, where there are all kinds of really neat things to look at. Someday in the future, the oldest will be able to stay with the littles while you make a quick trip to the post office. That was my first time out ( besides going to nursing school) hubby and I were on opposite shifts so one of us was always with our kids. We had to hire a sitter to come stay at night when I started working graveyard shift and he was traveling sometimes a few weeks at a time. He’s an engineer, I only worked every other Friday Saturday and Sunday nights plus holidays. We did not have time for us until the kids were all in their teens, and even then it wasn’t really just our time, someone always needed a ride or friends over. Married 47 years last week, so it wasn’t as bad as I make it sound. Maybe I was a little too young , 20 years by 1 day, but we made it.💜💐💍
I’m a Christian and went to my Orthodox niece’s wedding. It was very much like you showed and the dancing was amazing. What fun we all had! So happy you loved your dress.
I completely agree with you - who doesn't feel special, gracious, elegant and different when they put on a gown? I found the whole experience of the 'Secret Squirrel' way of getting to the gowns part of the thrill of it all and very interesting. Chana, my friend, you sat down on that grey lounge, as if you were a Queen who wore such gowns every day. You are beautiful, inside and out.

I'm Jewish and have never been to a traditional Jewish wedding. My own wedding, 40 years ago, was at the Disneyland Hotel, and we danced to the Mexican Hat Dance! By the way, I'm so impressed that you're raising four children and managing this UA-cam channel. Your filming, the explanations of Judaism, and the general narration of your daily life are so informative and entertaining. I don't know how you do it all. By the way, your husband's Moroccan Fish recipe is in regular rotation at our house.

@@jaroffireflies It would work well for wedding dresses as well. It is not like we would wear them again. I gave my wedding dress to a charity that made funeral gowns for miscarried babies. Otherwise that gown would have sat in my closet for decade upon decade with no one to wear it. Such a waste . I have the pictures from my wedding so I can see the dress anytime I want .

I loved loved loved your dress. My favorite part of a wedding is the bedecken, when the Chosson sees his Kallah for the first time, and then the father's blessing, usually not a dry eye. I'm Christian and appreciate the Jewish roots of my faith. Many of these traditions would have been practiced and enjoyed by Jesus/Yeshua in His life here on earth. This is so cool. I just found your channel yesterday and I’m watching this video tonight. I was at my nieces wedding last Wednesday in Chicago. I had never heard of the dress rental place until about two weeks ago when my mother-in-law told me she went there for her dress. The venue you’re at is just like the kosher wedding venue we were at on Wednesday night. I have four sets of nieces and nephews and one of my niece and nephew’s family lives in Israel and she wears beautiful tickles(?)as her head covering. Most of the women I saw who were from Israel wear the head scarves. The women from the USA were wearing wigs or hats. I wore a hat. Great video.

Hi Channnah.. firstly you looked beautiful and your daughter also. Everyone.. a chosson's tish room has another function.. it is where the groom sits with his father and the rabbinate to sign the wedding document. They also write the sum the groom promises the bride if they part G-D forbid.. and then they go to the bedecken from there. Beautiful wedding mazal tov!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉

Never been to a Jewish wedding looks so fun and full of traditions like most weddings. Have you ever been to an Italian Catholic wedding? It is kinda similar but different, lol. I have attended one wedding like this when a relative married an eminent rabbi's daughter. It was certainly an interesting experience. My own wedding was a standard one with men and women together. The rabbi would not talk to me because I was not wearing a wig and my friend forgot there was a modest dress code and wore a strappy dress and bolero. Your wedding looked great and your dress is beautiful. Glad you had a great time.

I just found your channel and I have been watching a lot of your videos. I live one town over from Lakewood and would love to see you the next time you are in New Jersey. My grandparents were Orthodox and my dad was raised Orthodox. My mom was raised Reform, so in order to compromise, my parents joined a Conservative Shul. Our parents have passed on now and I am active in our synagogue. My husband is a convert, raised catholic as a child. He went through 2 years of learning with 2 Conservative Rabbis, as he couldn't read the Hebrew. My husband went through circumcision at age 45, the Bet Din and Mikvah took place in Teaneck, NJ. We purchased our graves in a Jewish Cemetery as he is 65 and I will be 62 in July. I love your channel and wish I had found it sooner. I can't believe you are home schooling the kids on top of being a mom of 4! Hope to meet you someday. Sending you virtual hugs from New Jersey.

I loved loved loved your dress. My favorite part of a wedding is the bedecken, when the Chosson sees his Kallah for the first time, and then the father's blessing, usually not a dry eye. I went to a wedding where the Chosson sang Aishes Chayal before the meal. It was such a touching beautiful moment. Thank you for sharing your Simcha. Mazel Tov

I'm Christian and appreciate the Jewish roots of my faith. Many of these traditions would have been practiced and enjoyed by Jesus/Yeshua in His life here on earth. Congratulations and blessings to the couple. Your niece has begun an exciting new journey in her life as wife, mistress of a household and future mother. In my imagination i saw her saying the blessing over the candles, as she ushers in the Sabbath in her new home. All the best to her! Finally, that dress was amazing! This is so cool. I just found your channel yesterday and I’m watching this video tonight. I was at my nieces wedding last Wednesday in Chicago. I had never heard of the dress rental place until about two weeks ago when my mother-in-law told me she went there for her dress. The venue you’re at is just like the kosher wedding venue we were at on Wednesday night.
I have four sets of nieces and nephews and one of my niece and nephew’s family lives in Israel and she wears beautiful tickles(?)as her head covering. Most of the women I saw who were from Israel wear the head scarves. The women from the USA were wearing wigs or hats. I wore a hat. Great video.

Hi Channnah.. firstly you looked beautiful and your daughter also. Everyone.. a chosson's tish room has another function.. it is where the groom sits with his father and the rabbinate to sign the wedding document. They also write the sum the groom promises the bride if they part G-D forbid.. and then they go to the bedecken from there. Beautiful wedding mazal tov!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉

Never been to a Jewish wedding looks so fun and full of traditions like most weddings. Have you ever been to an Italian Catholic wedding? It is kinda similar but different, lol. I have attended one wedding like this when a relative married an eminent rabbi's daughter. It was certainly an interesting experience. My own wedding was a standard one with men and women together. The rabbi would not talk to me because I was not wearing a wig and my friend forgot there was a modest dress code and wore a strappy dress and bolero. Your wedding looked great and your dress is beautiful. Glad you had a great time.

I just found your channel and I have been watching a lot of your videos. I live one town over from Lakewood and would love to see you the next time you are in New Jersey. My grandparents were Orthodox and my dad was raised Orthodox. My mom was raised Reform, so in order to compromise, my parents joined a Conservative Shul. Our parents have passed on now and I am active in our synagogue. My husband is a convert, raised catholic as a child. He went through 2 years of learning with 2 Conservative Rabbis, as he couldn't read the Hebrew. My husband went through circumcision at age 45, the Bet Din and Mikvah took place in Teaneck, NJ. We purchased our graves in a Jewish Cemetery as he is 65 and I will be 62 in July. I love your channel and wish I had found it sooner. I can't believe you are home schooling the kids on top of being a mom of 4! Hope to meet you someday. Sending you virtual hugs from New Jersey.
