- Hi Yaakov Langer here. Here is a glimpse into my good friends, Lavi & Nechama Greenspan's wedding.

Here's a break down of what goes on:
If you've been invited to an Orthodox Jewish wedding and are unfamiliar with the ceremony, it's important to understand the traditions involved. Hopefully this video gives you insight into it. Orthodox Jewish weddings follow the Torah strictly and have customs that differ from Christian and other Jewish weddings (reform, conservative).
During the Tish, the groom, groomsmen, and male family members gather in a room for prayers and songs before the ceremony.
At the Tena'im, the terms of the wedding are agreed upon and the wedding contract is signed.
The Bedeken involves the groom veiling the bride, symbolizing her inner and outer beauty.
The wedding ceremony takes place under a chuppah, an arch symbolizing the couple's union. The bride walks around the groom seven times, the groom gives her a simple wedding band, and seven blessings are recited. The groom then breaks a glass.
Mazel Tov! They're officially married.
After the ceremony, the bride and groom are alone for the first time as a married couple, witnessed by two people according to Jewish law. The reception follows as a time for guests to celebrate with the couple.
Other important points to note at an Orthodox Jewish wedding include: conservative dress code, separate seating and dancing for men and women, and weddings taking place on Sundays thru Thursdays.
Mazel tov to Lavi & Nechama Greenspan! They should have many years of health, wealth, happiness and a beautiful family.

As a Muslim, when I watched this video I realized that all of us are the same, I noticed that somehow we have the same traditions despite the different religions and all the conflict but fact is we are all humans and we all have the same thinking.
Big thumbs up to this video and thanks 👌👍.
Jews aren't terrorists or support them sorry. From an American Israeli
We have more in common than not. I have hope for the future.
What about atheist like me ?Do you respect my total lack of belief?
Beautiful post, Aymen. This Jew feels exactly as you do.
נכון כל כך! אינשאללה יהיה שלום בעולם, אמן ואמן!
One of the greatest men in our generation
In the winter there is no problem with Saturday night weddings.
I'm a physically challenged guy and I can understand. Hats off to all who made it grand success. God bless the couple with happy joyful wedding
What a beautiful wedding! As a Catholic, I have hardly any knowledge of Jewish customs. I so appreciate being a "fly on the wall" to catch a glimpse of your amazing faith and culture.
Not all weddings are like this...this is Orthodox!!
Wonderful Baruch haShem and wishing Harmonie Shalom habait.massl tov.@@juliegoldman411
Mazel Tov!
Best video you’ve made / produced.
Yes, I cried. Let’s not make a big deal about it.

I just watched your previous interview with the groom - this was not a typical Jewish wedding - the groom is visually impaired - having went through many surgeries - that info really adds a level of significance and appreciation to just how wonderful this simcha is!
So excited to see this. I was privileged to spend a few special days with Lavi, helping escort him around, while I lived in Jerusalem. He was constantly talking about Hashem, and so full of emunah (faith). I really was inspired by him, and how he was truly living with Hashem. I remember davening for him to find his soulmate, and him going to the kotel (western wall) to daven... so many years of prayers poured into the culmination of this moment. I'm so happy that my wife shared this video with me!
Thank you so very much for your kindness in sharing your culture and traditions with us. I was especially touched (to the point of tears) by the support that the groom received. I was so surprized to learn of the many rabbis who attended the wedding. The bride must have felt so very blessed.
If it wouldn't be too much trouble, it would be wonderful to see other kinds of celebrations, too. Thank you again and G-d bless you.
The chasuna of Lavi Greenspan!!! Not just "any" Jewish chasuna! So special. Thank you for recording this Yaakov. I can't wait to see it.
איזו קהילה חזקה ותומכת! מזל טוב! כיהודייה וישראלית (חילונית) גאה בכם כל כך!!!❤🇮🇱
I just found this video and I am loving it, so lovely a great wedding.
Me too
I loved it all. The genuine love being expressed for the happy couple was so touching.
Thanks for posting this really special wedding. Just so happy to see Lavi married! MAZELTOV!
A very big wedding! It looks like everyone had a great time!😃👍👍✡️🕎✡️
Jewish culture is so beautiful I love how they protect there woman threw separation mens side and woman's side. Kosher food is the best the love they display for one another is amazing.
Beautiful, G.D bless u all! My dad was the chief executive steward of a large hotel in NY and used to come home telling stories about the huge orthodox Jewish weddings he had the honor of setting up..he became friends with many rabbis who came to Kosherize the meals.
so happy to see Lavi getting married ! I live in Europe but I had seen the video from the chanel meaningfull people "blind faith" which is an interview of Lavi and he gives so much strenghth !!! I'm so happy he's now getting married !
Lavi is an amazing person. The new couple should have much hatzlacha together.
Interesting to see a little corner of human experience I wouldn't normally get to see. Best wishes and a long and happy marriage to the bride and groom
That was very interesting. Thank you for sharing. I have a question regarding why you didn't show the women celebrating. Is it because woman choose to be modest and by sharing on the internet it's too exposed? Thanks.
Yes, and particularly because the women don't want to be seen dancing in public. You will come across pictures and videos of orthodox Jewish women on the internet, but hardly any of them will showcase dancing
Who knew Orthodox Jews could break dance...😍😂.
These guys sure know how to throw a party.
Sax - and other wind instruments, comes from the olde-time kleizmer bands common in the Ashkenaz (European Jewry) communities.
North Eorope & France Callwd Ashkenaz countries.jews from those countries called Ashkenaz jews later Includw jews from Russia
Wow many stuff I saw like Moroccan wedding 😮…
Kolchi phal phal 🇮🇱🇲🇦❤️
We break the plate when the tenoyim is signed. Chasidim have a separate party but it's also zecher lechurban. It's called brechen teller.
Not crying ... wow this was emotional!
I miss being religious I need to go back to it
So beautiful! I felt tears from watching all the love and respect. TY so much.
That was wonderful , I love how everyone is involved ❤
Lovely bride. Nice to see that she married him, despite him being blind
Beautiful. Thank you for sharing. Never seen an Orthodox Jewish Wedding before. Congratulations and many blessing to the bride and groom.
This is all very nice , however , it is not an 'orthodox ' wedding , it is an ultra orthodox wedding!
Domnul Dumnezeu sa va binecuvanteze Amin cu drag din Romania
Mazel tov, mazel tov! Beautiful chasana!
Going to my close Jewish friends wedding in a few months. I’m catholic and I’m trying to understand what to expect. Hella excited for that man to get married 🎉
Great wedding, thankyou for sharing with us. GOD BLESS YOU ALL XXX
*BEAUTIFUL job recording all this. 😍🥲❤️THANK YOU.* (Jewish weddings are any night of the week night of the week besides on Friday nights and on forbidden holidays. Saturday night is totally ok to have a wedding).
Technically, yes, it's okay, but practically you can't start doing any kind of preparation until the Sabbath is over, which would be logistically extremely difficult and lead to an extremely late wedding.
Thank you it was amazing, I end up crying. Mazal tov
Same
Reminds me a bit of the Greek Orthodox Christian wedding and recrption. Interesting the female energy and the male energy. Blessings for the Bride and Groom!
Was the marriage arranged?
This is Beutiful 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I'm a student at Yeshiva university and it is so cool to see Rabbi from our school visiting them. Mazel Tov!

@@SweetTea-Stephens that’s so cool! I’m getting my masters in social work.
How lovely (I love weddings - am a Catholic - of all faiths). There is so much hope for the future in them and families come together.
i am not sure why this video popped up on my screen, but i was surprised and really happy to see this because , i met lavi in kby before he went blind and we hit it off from day 1. i havent been in touch for years but please wish him a big mazaltov from ilan kliger
Great job as always Yakov
Very interesting I had a good laugh at the men dancing so happy and had a lot of moves. Bravo.
Beautiful bride. God bless your union.
I now know who invented the mosh pit
Beautiful beautiful wedding ❤
I went to a Jewish wedding on a Saturday night but I began after sundown. There were cold hors d’oeuvres served of course. What a beautiful wedding.
I had a very similar gown at my wedding (Catholic) and many people didn’t understand the sleeves or the desire to be modest- even though in catholic tradition we are taught modesty.
I see now- regardless of religion we are so similar and it’s so beautiful.
The best wishes to beautiful couple.
I would like to ask the bride: my son wants his young wife to get converted to Judaism. And she wants too. Maybe you can share your experience and give some advice.
There are a few reasons why the saxophone is such a ubiquitous instrument in Jewish weddings.
In many regards, it has replaced the clarinet due to its cutting sound. Yet, it is also an extremely expressive instrument. It has similar fingering to the clarinet and the flute, making the transition between those 3 instruments very easy. This trend began in the sixties with younger bands, such as Mark 3 (Jordan Penkower IIRC).
A very special shout out to Shloime Dachs, Yisroel Meir Shonek, and one of my favorite sax players, Mark Feinberg!
Wow beautiful
Can someone please tell me what the glass candle holders are called?
So they're married and go to separate sides?? I don't understand this.
Just the dancing is on separate sides. Men and women don't dance together.
Ma sha’ ALLAH (Baruch HaShem Eloh’im) - this resembles a lot like a Traditional Muslim Wedding - Mazel Tov (Mabruk) ❤🎉
Jewish ketubah (Marriage Contract) = Muslim Khetbah (exactly same our Imam also recites prayer and read out the marriage contract)
Jewish maarib (Sunset Prayer) = Muslim Maghreb Prayer (we also do stop everything right at the time of prayer 😊)
Food also looks similar and delicious 😊 except we don’t serve any alcohol beverages, it’s considered non-kosher (Haram) in our faith.
Singing. dancing. The boys sure had a good time!
🕺🏻
Interesting, I enjoyed this. Smiling ear to ear 😊thanks
This is an amazing accomplishment and I can only wish the same good fortune for my loved ones.
Mazel tov!
! מזל טוב
L'Chaim!
Ahavah to you both on your special day.
May your love be forever blessed.
Well 🎉❤ thanks 🙏 for the video loved to see people celebrating this new couple
Beautiful wedding. Respect to all Jews
Really lovely. Everyone is so full of joy. I’m just curious, is it customary for the bride or the groom’s family to pay for the wedding? Each culture is different.
Many do half and half. Some sects - bride pays the caterer and hall, groom - liquor, photography, flowers.....
Do the bride and women get to dance?
Yes
This is so beautiful!!! Thank you so much for sharing!!!
Yay blind people!!
Well that was very interesting. Thank you.
Amazing
God bless jews hello from china
No offense, but why does the getting keep doing the mini bows? Is it just because he is getting married or is it how he feels comfortable praying?
Jews pray that way.
I love Jewish traditions especially their weddings. Gods true chosen people.
Mazel Tov to happy couple 💑
BH beautiful channel.

The women dance and dance!!! They just didn't film the women.
WHERE are the bottle dancers??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Thank you for explaining the absence of the women's footage.
Wow! I never knew. I would have never imagined this. Amazing stuff!
In 1964 I was married in front of a tv playing I Love Lucy with the volume turned down!! It was in a retired judge's home.My Dad bought the rings, my corsage and the judge's wife fixed an absolutely lovely lunch which my new husband refused to stay for. It was then I knew I had married a jerk. I divorced him after 5 years! There is only so much you can stand! NEVER missed him ever!!! Oh yes, the date was April Fool's Day!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wedding number two was much better, outside overlooking the Mississippi River!!!!But that only lasted 5 years too!! I quit with marriages after that! Moved to San Francisco!!!
Mazel Tov! May today’s joy continue to fill your life forever!
Beautiful! mazel tov.
Mazel Tov
Tysm for sharing!

Wow great job keep it coming!;
Very intelligent, Jewish people and hats off wedding, thumbs up 👍
Video is entertaing thanku
Thanks for sharing
❤❤. I’m not Jewish . But I’m a convert and I had tears all through this video
Thank you so much for sharing this lovely event with us. I liked it and hope ones to be invited.
I didn’t expect almost all the guests wearing black or very dark clothes. Sadly this remindet me to funerals in Europe.
Is their a special reason for the black clothing? And… what do you wear on funerals??
I am Hindu, but live in a catholic area, so I am used to their traditions. Although not inspired by their religion.
Why you use Arabic word "Kotbah", you do not have Hebrew word for engagement ???
Though I'm sure it's a wonderful celebration, you'd definitely have to be prepared for this. It looks completely overwhelming, I wouldn't be able to breathe.
