i agree with the fire fish. If you have a pistol shrimp it will go into his cave if you spook it and everything spooks it

Firefish are not boring you should never keep them alone and they are not suitable for nano tanks they are small fish but open swimmers so do better in bigger tanks. You need to have at least 2-3 of them to see their natural behaviour. 1 fire fish will just hide away.

They can be kept alone. Often at maturity they will fight unless it's a true bonded pair
