I just checked it out it’s happening here in the US. You have to click two times over to the right to just download the app as you said in the video.
BoyCott fire sticks / Fire devices for ever. Get something else people. When we as the consumer spend our hard earned money we should able to do what the hell we want too do with it. Not some company telling us how to use it. Period

Amazon would need to be careful. A few years ago they were fined a few million pounds for getting customers to opt for Amazon Prime free postage for a trial period, not knowing that they were automatically signing up to a monthly subscription . This appears to be another variant of that same deceptive idea.

I'll continue to use the two Firesticks that I have. I'll NEVER subscribe or buy any content from Amazon. I'll continue to use sideloaded apps until the day the devices stop working - then I'll be going elsewhere for my streaming devices.

I’ve been caught by Amazon, not with the fire stick. They accused me of sending too many parcels back. Against there refund policy, never knew they had one,I just read 30 day return and thought it’s ok.

Another reason I like the ONN 4k Box (Non Pro). Firestick will stay in the bin.

This is unethical. My Firestick is all set up, but the things they've been doing lately along with disabling the launcher I've had has me thinking of replacing the stick with something else. I just haven't yet.
This did happen to me! They charged me although I already have a subscription to both apps it happened on. You have to go through a maze to find a way to talk to a real person. In US.

Ok so if you subscribe to a service by mistake . How can they charge you if you ain’t set up a payment ?
Just turn off in app purchases in the settings. This will make sure that you do not do it by mistake

Very sneaky nasty default Amazon can catch you out with channel option and application install. Which can charge you twice.
Channels are not shortcuts they charge you twice too.

Thanks for the heads-up. Because of Amazon's recent policy changes I'm gradually binning my FireTV devices and have moved to a Nvidia tube and a G7Max box. I'll keep a firestick for my travels, but that's all.

Here in New Zealand if I choose Apple TV as an example, I get - start 1 week free trial and get app. Below that it says $9.99 monthly after free trial. To the right it says - Subscription options, Get app only and Compatible devices.

This happened to me in Canada I was looking to login and thought I would be given the option but wasn't. I was automatically subscribed through prime for a month on the most expensive option. I was not even given the option to select which package I wanted. I'm allowed to cancel but have to pay and have it (Crave) for the full month. 🇨🇦

Did some looking around. (US) some of the apps say you own it with the cloud. Some have a shopping cart that tells you how much if you download it, option to the right to download app only. Sneaky Amazon

I've got a similar problem with disney plus . It plays fine on my main TV but if I want to watch something upstairs it keeps asking me to resubribe to something that I've already got I'am not into down loading side apps so I end going down stairs too watch stuff there
