Not really. Faking it usually hurts no one (like a Halloween costume). Fraud is intentionally deceiving people with the intent to separate them from their money.

      It’s pretty straight forward.
Similar to high school there’s the “in group” and the outer people. Anyone in the in group gets attacked everyone runs to their defence, anyone outside said group only gets defended if it’s serious enough or things can spiral.
The “in group” of the world is top financiers, industry leaders, resource controllers and select politicians + whoever they really like (certain celebs etc)

Same with the Enron CEO, yes he committed fraud but he didn't kill anyone and got 24 years but a woman that also committed fraud and literally killed people because of wrong blood tests and drove a guy into commuting s*icide only got 11 years. I don't care how big the fraud was they committed at Enron in the end they only scammed investors and human life's are always more important than money.

When you fake being an entreprenur, obviously you don't have the money, but WHEN You're faking it and acting like as if you were a millionaire, and you BELIEVE and are/confident, you WILL MAKE IT. Those "Fake actions" soon turn into YOU, Your identity, and Your habits. So yes you are right.

  • @jerodwolf5582

Being fake seems to be really exhausting and stressful. Maybe it's because I'm a bad liar, but everytime I lie, I feel my stomach curling in, and I know I hurt more by pretending something didn't happen than fessing up in the momemt

    • @ayla8345
      @ayla8345 Рік тому +129

It is stressful. Problem with lying is that it is very hard to remember the lies you tell, because they didn’t happen. If you went to a party last week, you’ll most likely remember that you went to a party that day. If you lie about it, you won’t remember because it’s just a lie you told.
So the dangerous thing is the risk of forgetting all the lies you tell and getting caught. So keep in mind, your brain doesn’t remember the lies you tell, because they never happened.
I used to lie a lot and it was always stressing me out, you always have to come up with new lies to keep the old ones alive.

    • @kezzt

This is either the worst coincidence or the most genius thing I’ve ever seen on youtube.
At 9:43 when the narrator says "while it might cross some ethical boundaries" and then goes on to talk about lying on resumes, "might cross" can be interpreted as "mike ross" who is the main character in the tv series suits in which mike lies in his resume. At the same time, the clip played on screen is the clip of mike ross’s Interview in the show.
All in all, great video and I’m surprised how this channel is still small.

I did something similar to kill my stage fright. I am in general a shy and rather introverted person but you'll never know that because I act like the most extroverted person you could find in your friends group. But that's the thing, I just act. Its not that I was not scared of talking in front of a crowd, I just faked it in my mind. But I've done it so much that my stage fright sort of died out. My confidence is a by product of this.

Slowly found myself participating in these willingly and doing quite well. There, I think, Ihad some latent talent that I had just discovered. You don't have to win these competitions, you just need the experience. If you're in school then this is a golden opportunity because I started myself in around 9th grade. Also, keepin mind that there'll be very bad days on stage but eventually you'll find your confidence and in my opinion, its well worth the time you put in it. Wow! This has to be on of the best videos I've seen in awhile. I watch a lot of business channels and so far on my second video of yours I really appreciate that you focus on the unspoken aspect of business. People tell stories of other businesses but you're are at the root. One thing I notice is that you will rarely see a successful UA-camr or a person perceived as ethical, honest, etc openly discussing the controversially “unethical” things they've done until they are exposed. I'm convinced that being morally ambiguous and mastering how to control perception is a huge part of what makes a lot of people successful! Fantastic videos.

The take home from this for me is “every word is important “
For, after learning the hard way, that those that are conners and scammers (which covers even high flyers and big names like judges and so called govt advisers, teachers, doctors, and on it goes…) no matter who they are, no matter what harm their deceit will bring to you, THEY DONT CARE, and , that EVERY SINGLE WORD they use ( spoken and written), should be scrutinised, or ignored at your peril.
I share 2 true examples of how ONE word can make or break …
    1. As I write this, I am waiting for an amended contract, that was filled and filed, by a solicitor, TWICE , AFTER a one word error was pointed out (bc I don’t trust ANTOBE, especially legal and govt officials, so I luckily read EVERY WORD).
That ONE word could have ruined me for life…
    just like example 2 DID:
    2) One single word , that was intentionally, maliciously, misinterpreted, by a debt collection agency, that allowed it- by the negligence of a corrupt judge to not do anything about it- to steal my most valuable assets… leaving me destitute…
    All bc of ONE WORD.
So yeah… be careful out there folks…

I actually disagree with your assessment that artists and influencers faking wealth doesn't hurt anyone. I think promoting these sort of lifestyles is generally unethical. Obtuse beauty standards depress the hell out of people. Promoting being wealthy teaches and inspires unethical practices and tells the average person that money matters the most in life. I think overall, these are very bad for the average person to constantly be consuming.
Unfortunately, the heart of this issue is that the Internet is run by its ad revenue source: advertisements. Advertisements demand high engagement but not necessarily quality engagement. It's much more beneficial for Coke to have UA-cam show you a deeply depressing, distressing, inflammatory video than something that may not drive you to like or comment on it. I think because of this, influencers tend to do incredibly outrageous and crazy things, which get more engagement, which makes it the industry standard, which means that the algorithm feeds that content and promotes these ideas. It's a very bad and unhealthy cycle that I think this video doesn't consider well enough.
There definitely is a point of faking confidence, but I think intentionally misleading people into thinking you're more than you're not is _usually_ bad.
Overall, good video with good examples. I just wish you had taken the sentiment in a bit of a different direction. I don't think it's about knowing when to stop. I think functionally the system is broken and promotes unethical behavior in the pursuit of capital.

@@TyFrom99actually the part about beauty is ,in my opinion wrong because a lot of people already have natural beauty and it depresses vast amounts of people but these beautiful people still get the advantage s why would it be ethically wrong for one to fake beauty if that gets me some advantages for them .. remember people I'm depressing with the obtuse standard.. will still be depressed by other people with natural beauty so the depression remains one just dont get the advantages if he didn't fake beauty himself 😢😢

As a human, I love to live any feeling fully; even if it is the feeling of humilation, losing, not being successful etc. I don’t want to fake anything. The only problem is that if you don’t fake it, someone will and you will lose in competition. So there is no point of living as a normal human being with normal feelings. The society pushes us to be winners all the time. Because winners get it all! Or you go Nepal and become a monk! Or budist! There is no other way. Either you are in the circle or not.
