@@No-rl9wn I can't imagine how that could be true, because the X is objectively better than the S in terms of processing power and image quality. I'm guessing your idea of playable is different to mine..like...for me, a stable 60 FPS is REQUIRED, and there needs to be good responsiveness. But, I'm pretty sure the Xbox version is only running at something like 45 FPS and sometimes dips to 30 FPS... I'd be tolerant if it was a stable 45 FPS, but it's not and it makes the controls feel floaty like there's input lag. It's just not fun at that point, moving your character feels like walking through syrup
@@ChristoffRevan I think the biggest performance killer is not enough VRAM. I have an RX6700XT with 12gigs and it runs not great not terrible on medium. Though big hubs kill my frames because of CPU limitations I guess.
So uh, fun fact about the bus stops at around the 18 minute mark, each bus stop DOES have a unique painting on it. Between 1960s and 1980s bus stops all across Ukraine by art school students. The ones in Stalker 2 are replicas of the ones in the Pripyat/chernobyl area.
@@FlunkedPunk Yes. Flew to Krakow, Poland and then took a Flixbus to Lviv. From there, I travelled across Ukraine by train. Used the local buses in the cities from time to time, and some of the stops look like what you see in the game.

Mmmm nah,he is Duty and in the previous games they hated bandits so i dont think its scripted,just the 3 bandits that spawn near u like always. If he were from Freedom maybe i would buy it cuz they made deals before but being Duty i dont think so
16:13 (for reference). The Polyglot V mod for Cyberpunk, where characters talked with their native languages and V would respond in the same language for a few characters was immersive as hell for me.
This is my first stalker game and I see why people are such fans of this series. Bugs aside the atmosphere and world design is phenomenal, the attention to small details in animations is awesome and the tension building is well done too. My favourite game rn by far
Could have been way better if it had the games original features, that they lied about claiming it would have on launch. The game isn’t at its best right now. Give it 2-5 months and it’ll have everything working and every feature they promised, then it’ll be the true experience.
Yeah probably won't get my GOTY vote, but i'm gladly gonna give them the labor of love award in the future, the game has it's issues which become a lot more apparent at the mid point of the story but denying they haven't given it their all is just arrogant, when the game works the quality surpasses any bethesda,ubisoft,etc open world assembly line slop by miles.
@gazzy9136 That is exactly what I'm doing. I wait a year to play most games, give the developers time to fix the game and make it what they intended it to be, not what the suits forced them to push out early.
It's like every Fallout 4 creator who starts out their video saying, "Today I'm going to do (insert task/quest/plan objective here) and then (insert plan 2 objective here)" When everyone knows that that will not happen, because Fallout.. it just gets tiresome listening to the blathering and we the viewers feel like 'why are you wasting our time talking about things that you're not going to do?' This freeform approach keeps you interested and watching to see what's going happen because it's like Fallout but less predictable.
ive seen a few play throughs of stalker 2 from other content creators, and something about drewski's playthrough draws me in. other people is fine, but to me, drewski brings something above and beyond to make it more interesting and fun to watch.

Man imma be real, all I need right now is more S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 gameplay. I know you don't want to flood your channel with one single game but it is much appreciated. I've been addicted to the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. universe for years and feel very compelled to start my own channel playing tactical shooters. I know there are fundamental issues with core gameplay features being broken or missing right now, namely the A-Life system but like he shows in the video there are mods that are helping patch these issues until an official update drops, mods of which he has already installed. But let’s be honest there’s still so much more of the game to see, and it’s not just the game itself that I’m interested in, it’s the charm of Drewski walking around and completing missions while talking with us and surviving the zone. And Drewski gets into many hairy situations and I enjoy watching how he gets out of them. Idk, personal preference but all I wanted to say is that these videos are helping me during a particularly hard time in my life.
@@theInfiniteEgg-z8i With how broken the game is? You're talking as if this is BF 2042 at launch and a year later. From what I've seen, this game doesn't seem to be too bad. For what ever reason, some people have a huge number of bugs and crashes, but others don't seem to have any major problems at all and their gameplay has been smooth. I'd happily watch a multi-part playthrough oi this. Especially since Drewski can actually play games. He's a gamer. Watching someone that's good as games, imo, is far more entertaining . He could still do that if he wanted to. The bugs don't seem to be game breaking.
So far we're on 3 patches. A lot of bugs fixed. + some performance optimization. *Next is A-Life (and more optimization)* In fact, according to devs, most of the reason for the A-life being turned down to 150m radius is especially due to lack of optimization of all the NPC logic. In the next month or two they should have it fixed hopefully! :)

@@shtein4476 I might not have explained it the best (English isn't my first language) What they said was the NPCs get spawned by A-Life, the A-Life code and everything is in the game - but NPC logic out of 150m radius is disabled. To you it would seem like it's not present, but it is. *If it was "just a spawner", they'd have to write A-Life code from scratch - which would take years, not months* As soon as optimization is done, all they have to do is turn it on - not make A-Life from scratch (big difference in time)
@@foxtrotunit1269yes, modders have confirmed it is in the game contrary to what people have been claiming, it is simply disabled in what it can do due to numerous conflicts and bugs. Also the fact that allowing it to work in a proper radius destroys the already suspect CPU optimisation. Remember this has to work on consoles that are equipped with the equivalent of a Ryzen 3700X and around 13gb of shared video/system memory. I suspect this is the actual reason A-life is turned right down at the moment, and eventually we may end up with two different versions as I can't see them getting an extremely complex system like this working on a present gen console. 🤔

The game released full price 1.0, the idea that they didn't add in a MASSIVE game feature because it would cause instability is a fucking joke... but hey GOTY contender for sure.
Its small, but I loved the little atmospheric interludes you put in of just scenery and environment, it was a rly nice way of breaking up the scenes/encounters
The atmosphere is unmatched. The way you've put these pauses with nature made me feel, as if I was enjoying a moment of silence while camping or fishing. Thanks, Drewski. I feel like my time well spent.

Apart from a couple glitches and some other bugs Ive been having a blast, it feels good coming back to the zone once again. It feels like the perfect blend between og stalker and modern mechanics/mods. Absolute 8/10 for me
So I must be having a skill issue cause I can never find the weird water (the glowing lights anomaly) and unless I missed a quick little hot fix ITS STILL BUGGED AS SHIT other than that little tiny pet peeve (cause I would love to be a grubby little loot goblin with 140 carry weight) the game is magnificent
@@Bsolazy It took me a bit and Ive heard about the bugs, but from the little hill overlooking the lights I kinda walked straight and went a bit to the right then dropped from a little mound and it was right there, I don’t know if it changes for others but it took me like 3 minutes to find it
Hey Drewski, that anomaly that you ran into at 0:40 is a stasis anomaly. I don't recall it being in the other Stalker games aside from Stalcraft X but it behaves as you'd expect. They're super hard to see most of the times but it does look cool when you shoot into them because it'll actually slow down the bullets so you can see them.
I think the main thing that keeps me so interested in your stalker (and a lot of other games) videos is the fact that you do your best to keep yourself immersed and enjoy the game world. Its something ive grown very accustomed to myself these days and its always nice feeling the same sort of passion through videos like these

This is my first Stalker game. I must say the mod support and help from the great community has taken a great game and made it even better. Im about 80 hrs in and im not stopping anytime soon.

I don't hate GAMMA, but I prefer the more grounded aesthetics of custom modded Anomaly or the Vanilla games instead the tacticoolness of GAMMA, in my opinion super duper kitted out weapons / gear, and Stalker does not match at all.

certain items can only be upgraded by certain technicians, armor is one of those. I think the technician on wild island can upgrade armor (at least thats where I think that I upgraded my seva suit)

The dnipro is the beat assault rifle in stalker 2, can be upgraded to shoot 7.62 instead of 545 for more damage and if fully upgraded will not lose any accuracy when upgrading the caliber
Hey Drewski, I need to thank you for introducing me to this franchise. I started watching your old Gamma/Anomaly videos just because I like your content, but I actually fell in love with the concept of these games as well. Decided to buy Stalker 2 yesterday and I've not felt so immersed in a game since RDR2. I've been watching lore videos and reading the wiki pages. What an awesome game!
finally! i was checking your channel and home page every day waiting for another video on stalker 2 also the CEO already said the A-Life spawn distance was turned way down because A-Life causes huge performance losses so while they try to get the game in a better state they will work on A-Life as well
Imagine this with up to 4 player CoOp. Even the old stalker games have mods that allow you to team up. New stalker hopefully will add this feature down the line. (and yes, i know the devs said they won't but if mods show it's possible and literally do the work for them - they won't turn down an option to make more money by making the game more marketable)
Modders can only change config files and do light retextures iirc. Devs need to release actual dev tools in order for this to happen. Coop is viable from what I can tell, at least more viable than anomaly multiplayer
GSC has already said numerous times that STALKER 2 will never be getting a Co-op mode because that's not how they want the players to play the game. They designed it to be a solo experience that adds more tension and fear for the individual by being alone.

We gotta stop calling it A-Life... its a slap in the face to everyone that knows what its supposed to do, and there is no WAY theyre gonna add in anything close to whats expected anytime soon, we got lied too because they needed money.
They literally said its not working as intended and files related to A-life are located in the gamefiles so they ain't lying give it time its not gonna be a fast fix

14:45 Oh man, I always enjoyed watching your walkthroughs and really surprised when you brought up this thought that had been haunting me for years. I can't even believe that someone finally thinks the same way as me. Glad you brought this to light, maybe the devs will finally understand this, since your words definitely have some weight for them. I mixed different languages in old Stalker like 4 or 5 years ago, just downloaded different voiceovers, French for scientists, German for mercenaries, Russian for soldiers, English for freedom, Ukranian for Monolith, Surjhik for bandits and replaced the necessary files for different factions and yes, it worked as expected. In Stalker 2, this could look nice with an approximate balance like this - Ukrainian for 2/4 NPCs, Russian and Belarusian for 1/3 and 1/3 for all other foreigners. This idea with different languages for different factions and random characters seems so natural and obvious that it is unclear how they did not do it with the support of Microsoft. It is clear that it costs money, but could cost just same monye insted of paying for a full-fledged separate English voiceover for the entire game by hiring only one or two actors from different countries here and there, who would speak with an accent where necessary, to implement such a crazy potential for immersion and realism, as was the case with Naishuller, who voiced the character in English. Perhaps fans from different countries in the future will be able to use AI to generate voice acting, join forces in this work and the world will see a practically ideal Stalker, the way it could have been if not for many restrictions on development. I think the PDA could serve as a translator, and interactive glasses like those called Google AR could display subtitles, so you wouldn't have the feeling of something artificial from the subtitles on the screen. And they could also fog up if someone added a mod like in Anomaly and Fallout, which adds an interactive HUD for gas masks, with the sound of breathing, steam and drops on the glass, dirt and glare, like it was 14 years ago in the game Metro. Isn't it strange that for 5 years of advertising the project and demonstrating various arts, you always saw a person in a gas mask, but in the game you don't feel that you are wearing a gas mask, no breathing, no changing capsules, no display of damage to cracked glass, absolutely nothing. Anyway, thanks for the demo, I myself will definitely not try to play this for the next 3 years, until at least something is fixed and modders do everything else, as usual, and the necessary hardware does not cost as much as an apartment in the outback of my country.

I'd happily watch a multi-part playthrough oi this. Especially since Drewski can actually play games. He's a gamer. Watching someone that's good as games, imo, is far more entertaining . He could still do that if he wanted to. The bugs don't seem to be game breaking.

What they said was the NPCs get spawned by A-Life, the A-Life code and everything is in the game - but NPC logic out of 150m radius is disabled.
To you it would seem like it's not present, but it is. *If it was "just a spawner", they'd have to write A-Life code from scratch - which would take years, not months*
As soon as optimization is done, all they have to do is turn it on - not make A-Life from scratch (big difference in time)
@@foxtrotunit1269yes, modders have confirmed it is in the game contrary to what people have been claiming, it is simply disabled in what it can do due to numerous conflicts and bugs. Also the fact that allowing it to work in a proper radius destroys the already suspect CPU optimisation.
Remember this has to work on consoles that are equipped with the equivalent of a Ryzen 3700X and around 13gb of shared video/system memory.
I suspect this is the actual reason A-life is turned right down at the moment, and eventually we may end up with two different versions as I can't see them getting an extremely complex system like this working on a present gen console. 🤔
@@foxtrotunit1269 My worry is that the code isn't in the game, and they just pushed the game out due to lack of money. I hope it is in there, and it will just take some months of patching, but it has gotten difficult to trust devs.
The game released full price 1.0, the idea that they didn't add in a MASSIVE game feature because it would cause instability is a fucking joke... but hey GOTY contender for sure.

Its small, but I loved the little atmospheric interludes you put in of just scenery and environment, it was a rly nice way of breaking up the scenes/encounters

Apart from a couple glitches and some other bugs Ive been having a blast, it feels good coming back to the zone once again. It feels like the perfect blend between og stalker and modern mechanics/mods. Absolute 8/10 for me

Hey Drewski, that anomaly that you ran into at 0:40 is a stasis anomaly. I don't recall it being in the other Stalker games aside from Stalcraft X but it behaves as you'd expect. They're super hard to see most of the times but it does look cool when you shoot into them because it'll actually slow down the bullets so you can see them.
Idk why are you surprised, Drewski + some kind of STALKER gameplay is just a must watch vid.

I think the main thing that keeps me so interested in your stalker (and a lot of other games) videos is the fact that you do your best to keep yourself immersed and enjoy the game world. Its something ive grown very accustomed to myself these days and its always nice feeling the same sort of passion through videos like these

This is my first Stalker game. I must say the mod support and help from the great community has taken a great game and made it even better. Im about 80 hrs in and im not stopping anytime soon.

I don't hate GAMMA, but I prefer the more grounded aesthetics of custom modded Anomaly or the Vanilla games instead the tacticoolness of GAMMA, in my opinion super duper kitted out weapons / gear, and Stalker does not match at all.

33:40 The message will tell you not enough money before the technician cant upgrade the item so its possible they also couldn't as well.
certain items can only be upgraded by certain technicians, armor is one of those. I think the technician on wild island can upgrade armor (at least thats where I think that I upgraded my seva suit)

The dnipro is the beat assault rifle in stalker 2, can be upgraded to shoot 7.62 instead of 545 for more damage and if fully upgraded will not lose any accuracy when upgrading the caliber

Hey Drewski, I need to thank you for introducing me to this franchise. I started watching your old Gamma/Anomaly videos just because I like your content, but I actually fell in love with the concept of these games as well. Decided to buy Stalker 2 yesterday and I've not felt so immersed in a game since RDR2. I've been watching lore videos and reading the wiki pages. What an awesome game!
FYI, for what ever reason, killing zombies sometimes spawns their weapon into your weapon slots
finally! i was checking your channel and home page every day waiting for another video on stalker 2 also the CEO already said the A-Life spawn distance was turned way down because A-Life causes huge performance losses so while they try to get the game in a better state they will work on A-Life as well

Even the old stalker games have mods that allow you to team up.
New stalker hopefully will add this feature down the line.
(and yes, i know the devs said they won't but if mods show it's possible and literally do the work for them - they won't turn down an option to make more money

Modders can only change config files and do light retextures iirc.

Coop is viable from what I can tell, at least more viable than anomaly multiplayer
GSC has already said numerous times that STALKER 2 will never be getting a Co-op mode because that's not how they want the players to play the game. They designed it to be a solo experience that adds more tension and fear for the individual by being alone.

They literally said its not working as intended and files related to A-life are located in the gamefiles so they ain't lying give it time its not gonna be a fast fix

14:45 Oh man, I always enjoyed watching your walkthroughs and really surprised when you brought up this thought that had been haunting me for years. I can't even believe that someone finally thinks the same way as me. Glad you brought this to light, maybe the devs will finally understand this, since your words definitely have some weight for them. I mixed different languages in old Stalker like 4 or 5 years ago, just downloaded different voiceovers, French for scientists, German for mercenaries, Russian for soldiers, English for freedom, Ukranian for Monolith, Surjhik for bandits and replaced the necessary files for different factions and yes, it worked as expected. In Stalker 2, this could look nice with an approximate balance like this - Ukrainian for 2/4 NPCs, Russian and Belarusian for 1/3 and 1/3 for all other foreigners. This idea with different languages for different factions and random characters seems so natural and obvious that it is unclear how they did not do it with the support of Microsoft. It is clear that it costs money, but could cost just same monye insted of paying for a full-fledged separate English voiceover for the entire game by hiring only one or two actors from different countries here and there, who would speak with an accent where necessary, to implement such a crazy potential for immersion and realism, as was the case with Naishuller, who voiced the character in English. Perhaps fans from different countries in the future will be able to use AI to generate voice acting, join forces in this work and the world will see a practically ideal Stalker, the way it could have been if not for many restrictions on development. I think the PDA could serve as a translator, and interactive glasses like those called Google AR could display subtitles, so you wouldn't have the feeling of something artificial from the subtitles on the screen. And they could also fog up if someone added a mod like in Anomaly and Fallout, which adds an interactive HUD for gas masks, with the sound of breathing, steam and drops on the glass, dirt and glare, like it was 14 years ago in the game Metro. Isn't it strange that for 5 years of advertising the project and demonstrating various arts, you always saw a person in a gas mask, but in the game you don't feel that you are wearing a gas mask, no breathing, no changing capsules, no display of damage to cracked glass, absolutely nothing. Anyway, thanks for the demo, I myself will definitely not try to play this for the next 3 years, until at least something is fixed and modders do everything else, as usual, and the necessary hardware does not cost as much as an apartment in the outback of my country.
