Before the disaster, Limansk was centered around a research facility and the city itself was built mostly to house the scientists' families who worked there. All that is known about their work is that it was codenamed Radiowave, but the purpose of the project is unknown now. The city also had a strange antenna array that towered over the other buildings. The antennas, combined with the mysterious headaches visitors to Limansk would experience, led some to speculate the Radiowave experiments were related to mind control. By the time we arrive there in Clear Sky, the city has been overrun with Monolith forces who are using it as a last line of defense to prevent Scar (you) from reaching the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant. After fighting your way through the city, you cut through a deserted hospital and are able to enter the plant directly. Maybe Limansk will be the way we also access the other DLC area people have speculated about, the CNPP itself. As for what we'll find there and what the signal is, I have no idea. It's possible that some unknown faction took control of the facility and reactivated or repurposed the antennas.
It's also possible they will do extra fan service and have the DLC centered about whatever went down through the CS push into the North. While I'm not sure, i find it highly likely that the DLC will be centered around Spark vs. Ward. Ward alongside the IPSF is the replacement of the standard Ukrainian Military faction. Because you know. War happened so the Devs removed most of them so players won't shoot normal Ukrainian soldiers (they are gonna get modded in as the good old faction anyways), also their color scheme is really similar, green and camo colours but not the green shades of Freedom. Unless Ward and SIRCAA is funded by, and I wouldn't be surprised, NATO or the U.S. which would explain their absurd funding and why they are so active in The Zone, which in a way, just makes them "UNISG but they don't fugg around", but I thought that was just Mercenaries whenever American Arms Manufacturers throw them contracts for artifacts (happens a lot in-universe). Spark is 100% Clear Sky v2 (worse), they are led by Scar, their armour is blueish and they are against Ward and the International Mission cordoning The Zone. If you tldr their goals, it's clear they are nearly the same as Clear Sky's but far more aggressive as instead trying to study The Zone for the betterment of everyone and understanding it, they just want SIRCAA and Ward to gtfo out because it's clear they know far more than they say to the public and to the stalkers and are putting them at risk for the sake of gains to SIRCAA and Ward and because it makes their job easier if the tresspasers get irreversibly injured or die due to not knowing stuff The Gov already told to Ward and SIRCAA. Which again leads to them collaborating to dissapear people so helpful widespread knowledge is not shared and thus never reached neither the actual proper Stalkers nor the outside world. Something important to mention is that Spark (Clear Sky) base is NOWHERE to be found so I won't be surprised if the DLC shows their base either in Limansk or another part of the map that is currently unaccessible/doesn't exist right now. I don't think they are in the CNPP, the game leaves it very clearly that Monolith is roaming the North so they definitely are holding the CNPP still.
I highly doubt we'll be able to access the CNPP through Limansk again, and here's why: you probably noticed that in the Stalker 2 Zone layout, maps from past games are oriented differently (for example, the Swamp map which was where Clear Sky started, was right next to Cordon to the West, while in Stalker 2, it's far away to the East, next to Zaton, which was way up North in Call of Pripyat, North even to the CNPP, so you get the point). Stalker 2-s Map is way more accurate to the actual, real life Zone, with Pripyat situated North-West to the CNPP, Jupiter Factory, Yaniv Station and the "Red Forest" area is roughly right where it is in real life, the DUGA radar array is also roughly in the right direction, although in the game it's much closer and oriented differently to the CNPP, so my guess is in order to be more corresponding to the real thing, they had to make some concessions (for instance having the Swamp way over West didn't make much sense since the Pripyat River is flowing East of the CNPP, so they had to move around some territories for consistency's sake). So if you check the map in Stalker 2, Limansk is situated way over West/North-West of the CNPP (you can actually check the clouded area at the Center-North of the map is the CNPP, some parts are visible and matching the real-life satellite images/past entries's map), so the Hospital route from Clear Sky would just lead further away North-West from the CNPP. But I guess they can still mix and match territories and places further however they want in a future DLC.
@OnePlayer480 just want to say, there is no Spark Base. When you meet with Scar in Rostok he and the other Sparkers there tell you that. They even mention how funny it is that Wardens and SIRCAA are "looking for a base that doesn't exist. The zone eats anything that stands still."
I thought the Chornobyl-2 town was this game's Limansk/Dead City into one, seeing this makes me hope they might actually add Dead City and Limansk into the game! Limansk is littered with Space Anomalies by the time of Clear Sky, I hope they further explore it with a more kind of Silent Hill style atmosphere like the Mist anomaly.
I think Dead City is mostly inspired by Chernobyl 2 i was a bit disappointed they didnt add it in the main game along with CNPP... which i still cant get over
@@Strellok100 By Chernobyl 2 you mean the Chernobyl City? Its quite weird how all three didn't feature or mention anything about the city itself. Maybe by Stalker 2's time, the city would've been a SIRCCA/IPSF base with heavy security.
it was marked as a possible location in the leak maps, but ultimately they cut it , again. dead city that is. It would have been wedged between Burnt forest and Lesser Zone, on the south end. there's a lot of locations that were marked for DLC locations that will probably not come to pass. considering those leak maps, have regions that suggested Iron forest and CNPP would be in the game, and were removed as visit-able locations. so who knows what will actually be DLC Limansk is mostly a lock, as for the other one, Cold Island, North of SIRCAA and the Cooling towers is the most likely, Option 2 is the Sandy Dune or Pripyat Outskirts, which were northeast/north of Pripyat

Limansk was previously a major Monolith strongpoint, as it was the location of one of the routes to the Chernobyl NPP. It was also connected to the Dead City, which in Anomaly was the main headquarters for the Mercenary faction. But officially, Limansk was swarming with Monolith and a lot of spatial Anomalies. As for what happened to the people who originally lived there, nothing else is known. As for that locked door, that originally led down into what seemed like an underground garage containing a couple of BTR-70s, a lot of boxes, some electrical Anomalies, and not much else. It was never locked or sealed like that before though. SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING'S IN THERE!!!
I REALLY hope they bring back Limansk. I found this scary signal all on my own and the callback to Clear Sky had me feeling chills. i’d absolutely love to go back there as DLC but it’s also strange that CNPP is on the map yet we never go near it or the other cloudy section of the map by it, only the Generators map in the endgame which is 1 out of 3 of those cloudy portions… plus allegedly we are getting a snowy anomalous area DLC from what i’ve seen online (I.E. the collectors edition map has an area with snow? drawn on it kind of in the SIRCAA area of the map)

@@lesterschild1065 no, that’s only partially correct. you go to the Generators during the endgame, which is only 1 out of the 3 clouded portions. there’s still a lot of map in that area we don’t have access to, AKA “iron forest” as someone as pointed out as their map glitched and gave the name for the CNPP portion. the Cooling Towers is the closest that we can get in the base game, but I haven’t really explored that area because it gives me creepy Jupiter vibes
I remember playing Clear Sky as a kid, Limansk was so creepy. And there was a children's playground where you could go in and hear children's laughter with creepy ambient. I was really creeped out by that.
I believe they’ll add some sort of Hunter/Trapper DLC too as in Rostok there is another Trader stand, full decked out and ready to go just missing its merchant. Maybe this will be how we make money off killing mutants in the future? By harvesting their hide/heads, etc.
The locked door was used by Strelok to escape the Clear Sky and Scar in the previous games. If I remember correctly that section was actually blown up by Strelok so Scar had to improvise a bridge above the river, so (if I'm correct) there's a weird rettcon there. Limansk itself was an "on a rails" section and wasn't very interesting. Maybe there's a DLC that will use better the map and make something more interesting. (As someone else pointed in the comments, there's speculation that some sort of mind control experiment was made in the area, so that mixed with more horror would be an AWESOME DLC).

According to the lore, Limansk was never evacuated after accident in 1986, so poeple have been living there to the moment when the Zone has appeard in 2006. I think forrester talked about it in Clear Sky (im not sure). These voices of agony could be people struck by the first emission which gave birth to the Zone. Absolutely terryfing.
So, do you think the signal is some kind of psi-imprint caused by the First Emission, or maybe some sort of recent leakage from the hole in the Noosphere as it expands that manifested as radio waves? To add credence to this theory, it seems to make the same sound as when you’re affected by psi energy at the beginning when you interact with the radio, if I’m not imagining.
Its the sounds or radiowaves passing through spacial anomalies, like in clear sky group of mercs could pass through space bubble very weak radiosignal, calling for help. Scar also were asked by forester to find suitable highground to be able to receive their message uninterrupted
The Locked door is a part of the main mission and you need to go to that location to find an object to get into Pripyat. During the main mission the area is surround by Mercs which talk about Lymansk and so does a NPC inside the tunnel for the locked door.

Interesting, they might be also foreshadowing it in the beginning location, there’s a radio station where you kill two bandits and on the radio frequency it mentions that a guy looking like Forester was spotted
Awesome that I immediately recognized the area from stalker clear sky just from that building with the snork, it's cool they paid attention to that.
