I am very entertained watching them walk through the city. I saw another video of them in a warmer month visiting this area. The one guy climbs on a Ferris wheels that is big AF. I would have been very scared, paranoid and anxious going into this area. I would have also been carrying 8 gallons of water with me too! I know it's about 64 LBS. Thanks for the tour. I don't think you could go there now if ya wanted to. Hope the guys who made the videos are doing ok with the current situation in that area. I wish them well! Great video!
Does anyone remember around late 90s there was a woman who went on motorcycle into the radiation zone. She had a website and posted dozens of pictures. It was so captivating, very few people had made it in and then gone on to post a whole report about it. I think shiey should be nominated for awards for his documentaries, they are well made and thoughtful in not destroying the histories they find.
thats Elena Filatova. Loved her website.
Yup, but it was fake... she was a tourist, like the guys shey filmed.
No. Only Shiey is brave enough to evade security while taunting them with a loud box of candy.
There’s 4G in Chernobyl, and I can’t get any signal down the street... damn.

Man ive been watching these again while grinding stalcraft so nostalgic
What exactly is a stalker?
@@MonkeYes816 people who fuck around in the chernobyl exclusion Zone and are way too much into radiation poisoning
@@robinbanks644 I also here the term stalker from other people who isn't going to Chernobyl
For those curious about the term "stalker" it's a reference to a dope Tarkovsky film "stalker" about a place similar in vibe to chernobyl called "the zone". men are said to be granted their one true desire at the center of it
Roadside Picnic (alien disaster event that has changed the rules of reality) stalkers -> Stalker (unspecified bizarre abandoned location that doesn't follow the rules of reality) stalker -> S.T.A.L.K.E.R (chornobyl alternate timeline with psychomagic) stalkers.
The term is now widespread across fiction, I saw it used the other day watching Fear The Walking Dead to refer to scavenging survivors of a nuclear event.
The true origin would be a stalker meaning a hunter, someone who slowly stalks their goal across nature while attempting to be one with nature.

When he was talking about how in 2019 the amount of people going to Chernobyl increased, I wonder how much of the increased tourism happened due to the HBO series.
Probably a lot!
Probably 0 considering the ongoning war and russias occupation damaging the Sarcophagus
really really good shit...had me hooked from minute 1 I would genuinely be interested to see this post-war but who knows this may be the last really free and open footage of the exclusion zone for a long time depending on the outcome. That fact alone really underlines why docs like this need to made. Guess I should add I hope your boy Anton made has been making it thru okay or has got out.
Depending on your bravery, it's probably possible right now. The war is hundreds of KMs away from Pripyat now and security is probably light/nonexistent.
Although Chernobyl is still closed to the public, the war has been out of it since Russians withdrew from it in April 2022. It's been reported that they left a bunch of landmines behind. They dug trenches in the Red Forest which was a stupid idea, and took contaminated items back home with them.

Very interesting! You always wonder how the other half of the world lives. Seeing bed pans strewn, kids toys, crib and small beds really humanize how awful it must have been to wake up and realize that your life was no longer the same. It makes you wonder how many people never saw their loved ones again or if they did survive the radiation how much longer did they live after the event. I think many lives were cut short. It makes you realize just how good we have it in the US. Thanks for your video it's not a trip I'd want to make but I am glad someone can show us the grim reality.
This honestly seems like what it would be surviving after an apocalypse, its crazy
But still cool at the same time.

Without the cannibals and guns and fighting for your life against desperate people... so no
@@bensmith5288 wdym?
@@bensmith5288 I agree. Also the food they have, medicine, and propane is prepackaged. In a apocalyptic situation you would have to find your own herbs, food, and build log wood fires instead due to all the prepackaged goods being in short supply.
Pro tips for colder climates:
- Wool clothes close to the skin (socks, shirt, underpants). I'm serious - only wool is good enough. Don't fall for any synthetic shit. Absolutely NO cotton!
- Dress in layers. Two or three, thin layers is warmer than one thick piece of clothing. Also easier to regulate temp.
- If you start to sweat - undress, ventilate.
- Make sure you pack sleeping bags and everything you want to keep dry in plastic bags etc.
- If you get wet, change out of wet clothes ASAP.
Ref: military background in arctic climates
whats so bad about cotton?
@@dizzyguy7423 Cotton absorbs moisture and traps it next to the skin, drawing out body heat. It also insulates badly and is very hard to get dry. Wool can get wet but will still insulate so you won't get as cold, and it dries super fast.
@@Phergan oh wow i never knew that, thanks for the reply
@@Phergan whats wrong with the synthetic shit, and is the multiple thin layers better then the 1 thick layer better because the multiple layers means more heat being trapped?

It's like the photograph of the dude in the background in Bedtime Stories' "There's something in the Mountains"
US Marine here, if you’re thinking about doing stuff like this here’s some advice: your gear is your lifeline especially your sleeping system. You should set up your pack to where you can chuck it in a river and everything you need will be dry. WATERPROOF EVERYTHING! He got lucky in this video but it’s very easy to get hypothermia and die because of a little water.
Edit: I was a grunt and no this isn’t tier 1 information but just some basic advice for camping/ hiking overnight. And thanks for all the thumbs up!
I was thinking this... I'd like to think most camping packs are waterproof, looks like he just has a regular backpack tho which I wouldn't advise. His journey is awesome tho!
SquidBeatzOTN most are resistant but not waterproof, I’d also like to strongly advise that nobody do what hey did regarding drinking that dirty ass water without filtering it or boiling it.
I am more concerned about the level of radiation he was exposed to. Radiation is not a joke
Eliza Totty And that’s a fair argument too, from the looks of it most of the radiation where he was however was pretty low for the most part with minor spikes
@@elizatotty4295 long term exposure is the issue. He was carefully monitoring it with the geiger counter he had available. Granted there are still spots where just a few minutes in said are can be deadly, theyre mostly within the inner most parts of the reactor.
"bro I know a spot"
Thanks for taking us on this journey. It's like
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. for real!!!
Forgot how it feels to watch a youtube video without 18 ads. Amazing.

@@Masterfighterx i agree
He doesnt put ads on his videos
I dont normally like this type of content. The people doing it are normally assholes who break things or steal or are generally rude. This dude seems chill, just likes to explore. Keep doing what youre doing
I'd also reccomend the proper people yt channel. They visit places like this all over the world and are respectful to the area
@@TTHBLOX_ thanks ill give them a sub
@@TTHBLOX_ bros of decay as well!!!
Some of the best content on UA-cam!.
U should see ally law
The size of those apartment complex’s is just massive. It’s insane how big they are. And are still in most of Eastern Europe.
Impressive how fast the soviets managed to house 25 million people after ww2 with their whol economy and industry basically destroyed
ive watched this video a couple times every year, i love this dude
Imagine being a kid who lived in that village, watching this video 34 years later, seeing three guys go into the house you used to live in.
Finding the doll you put a gasmask on. 🤣
@@zaodedong9935 def a stalker, but too funny
Eric Fouch that forsure happened after the disaster when people were going back to Chernobyl to take the valuables that had been left behind no way someone is gonna waste a gas mask on a doll
I’m glad you just look and don’t vandalize that shit it’s really neat seeing
Me too, because so much of it has already been destroyed by people. I remember the first civilian who went in there and documented it and posted it online back in the late 1990s or very early 2000s. She got in because her dad was a nuclear physicist who worked for the government and she had all the equipment and knowledge to get in there safely, along with getting the permits before anyone was allowed near it. This is a WHOLE LOT different from the way it was back then. So much less stuff, so much more of it destroyed or stolen.
Iv been my ass had to leave my mark around tho
57:30 Lol
@@babybirdhome Got a name or any links? Would love to see it
maybe he did off camera, he vandalised a train he was hopping on that time in another video I remember. Nothing much, just graffitied the channel name there. But yeah I agree... its sad that these places get covered in "art" most'f the time
This had me on EDGE. So nerve racking. I love it
this was cool, thanks for taking us along on the adventure
The only thing I was thinking when they actually got to pripyat was: "50 thousand people used to live here, now it's a ghost town"
Samee
When he was at the pool, I swear I listened to that!
Same 😂
ITS NOW OR NEVA TAKE THE SHOT
THE WERRD STEALTH DOESN'T MEAN ENNYTHIN TO YA DUZZ ET

Oh shit that'd be cursed

@@louise7289 Thanks
Literally my thoughts when he said that one house was the best the village had to offer. Imagine a guy sitting somewhere in his home watching this on youtube "Ha we sure knew how to build them back in the day" lol 😁
@@Ilmapalloteurastaja what was this place and were is it?
Thnx UA-cam Algo. I needed exactly this ❤
This video never gets old thanks for being a hero
I'm not trying to sound rude, but what makes him a hero? I think the idea of exploring chernobyl is really cool, but I don't see it as heroic
