This is a great reverb. You can just beam any reverb tone print from their app in the last three slots, that makes this pedal amazing. I don't use the mash but there are some tone prints in their app that are made with mash in mind. It increases shimmer or vibrato etc.
This is gonna be my first pedal. My Crate 150 is just a straight amp with some overdrive on the gain control. I need a reverb unit and this will definitely fill the bill. I ain't no Reggie Watts and I love the shimmer setting plus the fact that you can download any reverb setting to the pedal.
The mash function on the church setting makes more sense when the level knob is at 9 o clock. It seems to start the increase in reverb from that point if you press the mash button.
is it just me or does the HOF 2 sound like the sound quality is somehow lower or more grainy than the original? I know sometimes it's the amp or guitar so I also watched a few other demos of this pedal and I've heard the same thing you just doesn't sound as clearly Chris as the original which I love and use all the time personally I advise going for the original as there is really not that much difference with the newer except that it has the Shimmer which I like

I would imagine it would take the TP's from the original; HOF? Not sure. I rem there was one out there that was a good surf TP. & while I'm no big Techno guy it was fun loading up TP's thru my phone. Good vid!
Are there other pedal companies that regularly Buffer their pedals, like Boss? Truebypass is good enough sometimes but with Buffer, I don't even have to worry about it. (loss of signal).
I believe the Boss is slightly better sounding. But the TC has more options available, especially with the toneprint stuff and it's cheaper. I'm also deciding between these two. I actually don't like the toneprint concept much though..

scott petri I have many tc pedals and never had a experience like yours(knock on wood),their original switches are quite sturdy.But,there are always exceptions.
TC Electronic use dodgy switches compared to others. I've had issues with them and loads of others have. I've also heard people having bad experiences trying to get TC to fix the pedals. Apparently they tell people to just update firmware, despite this being the first thing everyone would do.
I love your channel, but I would really like if you could demonstrate pedals without every effect knob dimed. You almost always play new pieces of gear with one or more setting cranked all the way, and then you complain how weird/bad it sounds. Suggestion: start with with everything at 9 o'clock, and then work up or down from there. I really really dig your personality, and your assessments of all gear except pedals, but this, and almost all of your pedal reviews, have been useless for me. Yeah, you got my "views" and "likes," but you haven't influenced one purchase yet, and I spend far more money on musical equipment than the average bear (and certainly more than I can afford!) I don't write this to be a jerk. I write it because you're obviously a good soul. I like your persona, your friendliness and your viewpoint, and am hoping that some honest appraisal might help you find more viewers. You deserve to be more widely appreciated then you are, especially given some of the less-than-cool people in the social media Musicverse. Please don't take offense at this. I think the Spring sounds bad because he has the tone set too high (trebley) for some reason when using the Spring setting. Check out Mike Hermans' demo, it's way better and does the Spring setting more justice.
Church setting sounds like a 12 string. I thought you were gonna bust out with "Turn, Turn, Turn". Why would you use your hands instead of yer foot; it's a foot switch, you dummy!

Mash is best used at low level so it has room to express itself as you apply pressure on the switch. At a high level it will drop out

sounds very good. Boss has a new reverb as well the RV-500 but for me I am happy with my BigSky and Space.

The spring reverb is really disappointing . The digitech hardwire has a great spring reverb and plate

I think you are going to get a funny sounding trail if the effects are turned up too high.
After loading other toneprints I can't locate the 3 factory toneprints to load them back to the pedal.
Anyone else?
You may have to download the factory "Tone Print" from the website. That's how it works with the HOF mini; I assume HOF2 is the same.
