I'm not a babyboomer. I don't have middle-aged white man blues. I don't wear dad shorts. I don't have a beer gut and I don't care about Stevie Ray Vaughn. So thank you for making a video of how pedals sound in actual usable situations for guys like me.
I just came back from seeing Opeth, Mastodon and System of a Down at the Download. I was looking for something to help me sleep peacefully and suddenly this video appears. Thank you, Knobs!
Great demo and explanation of both pedals. I use a very simple pedal board (tuner, wah, compressor, equalizer, and noise gate into the front of the amp; chorus, delay, and reverb in the FX loop), but these two pedals make it extremely versatile. (It's a lot of fun to just mess around and see what kind of crazy sounds I can make!)
Fantastic run-through and gorgeous playing. I've not heard anything as unique or wonderful as the Church setting on all the TC reverbs (Trinity, HoF, Arena). Even the Big Sky and Space can't quite get there.
Knobs has the best video production on UA-cam! They look like Wes Anderson and That Pedal Show had a baby. I play both guitar and synth, and this has become my favorite show.
Most excellent demo. So glad you did it in stereo. A+. Love both pedals. I think HOF 2 with mash and editable? Easy win at that price point. Not a fan of recent TC stuff. Huge fan of my TC transitions, TC Petrucci Chorus/Flange & TC Paul Gilbert Mojo Mojo Overdrive...set to 11. Good quality in that era of TC. *enters Aural not Oral dream sequence* So now the stereo part of the signal chain is going to be: Old Big Box Catalinbread Stereo Semiphore with tap tempo depth gain and like 7 wave forms. Into TC Hof 2...from this video... Into Tc Transitions (not very different than Flashback 1.0 )... set to Ping Pong... Stereo Out into Roland JC120, JC77 and/or an orange dark terror into 4x12 with celestions. Chorus on one amp. Maybe Vibrato in other? Set to complementary speeds. Warbleville. I can already hear it. Im imagining a swirling vortex that would scare Johnny Marr shitless with a Cat5 Faux TurnTurnTurnado. Then add the overdrive section is going to physically move people with it live. Hopefully. Detroit.
These two pedals really are a treat, I took a chance on them last winter without doing any prior research and have been very happy with the results. Only minor nitpick is that they're digital rather than analog, but they process analog to digital back to analog well enough that it's worth it. Plus they're stereo, true bypass, and are designed with enough headroom to handle line level signal, which is great if you're wanting to do outboard work from your DAW without having to reamp back down to Hi-Z. All in all, they're the highest quality two pedals I own, other than the TS9, Big Muff Pi Wicker and the Swollen Pickle.
Yeah Electro-Harmonix have plenty of amazing pedals, attack decay, ring thing, 8 step etc that need these kind of demos to truly make them shine. Too many rock licks in a lot of other videos
Awesome video. It made me want to upgrade my Flasback to 2, and pick up the Hall of Fame instead of another reverb. Added to my Corona and Polytune Mini, almost just TC on my pedalboard. :-)
@@thekramer1097 this is true, but determination of the right "Delay" is not that problematic in my eyes. "Feedback" low, "Level" max, whiling pulling a string on the guitar with the beat of the song template, adjust with "Level". You soon will hear good and bad "Delay" settings, so this way, no tap-in device is needed and Flashback 2 can use the stereo signal input. I've learned that via software turning the mash button into a set-delay-by-tap button should work too.
The signal is boosted way too noticeably in volume when the mash is engaged. Defeats the purpose imo. Should be subtle entry into the soundscape. Also, does the background signal remain wet once the mash is engaged?
Amazing pedals, I have a lot of them. Not sure if I will update them to Mk. II. I have no use for the Mash, but like the 3 Toneprint slots, and maybe the upgraded algorithms.
Flynn Hanbury Tenison I think AR is really cool but you're much, much better off getting a true verb and separate delay unless you can't get away from swell and some other things on there. You'd be amazed what you can come up with using a nice verb and delay way beyond AR
The relocated speakers were my biggest concern about this new redesign, and it is a bummer to see that concern confirmed. On the flip-side, the removed parallax barrier on the upper screen and the relocated MicroSD slot is still enough to make me consider upgrading from my current N3DS-XL. Decisions, decisions.
Love TCE I have theie Hall of Fame Mini and Corona Chorus pedals. I'm now thinking it may be time for an upgrade to the HoF2. I just got an MXR Carbon Copy though, so I may have to hold off on the Flashback. But dang... Nice sounding pedals.
hey sorry if im being a moron - but i recently got a flashback 2 and am having this issue where there is no dry signal when the pedal is on. I have done every combination of the dip switches (kill-dry) on the back and nothing seems to sort this issue. returned the pedal and got another and had the same issues! starting to feel as though i'm going mad. can anyone help a hapless soul out?

Just ordered the flashback 2 to buddy up with my HOF2. Question on the stereo setup here, does that require two amps or if you have a 2 channel amp can you use this setup?
Apparently it's a crime to like blues or be a dad? I hope you guys know how cliche you sound. I love the blues and rock music but also jazz, folk, country, and experimental guitar as well. It's called having an open mind. I just recently started experimenting with ambient tones by stringing together my delays and reverbs. Knobs, you are awesome. I am hypnotized by your demos.
Really cool. I hate that when I get a delay pedal that I'm really stoked on, 5 years later it's almost outdated with what kind of crazy stuff is coming out today :(
Great Video! But please can you upload a Video how you connect a Guitar and the Synth with the 2 Pedals? I don't know which cables i must use! I have the 2 Patch Cables to connect the Hall of Fame 2 and the Flashback 2 and connect them! But I don't know where the 2 Cables of the Stereo Output of the Hall of Fame 2 go! Maybe one Cable to a Speaker o Amp?
Knobs: great demo as always -- what I would really like to see is a footswitch that could connect to these pedals where you could save the tone prints to use live/on the fly -- do you know if they have anything like that or anything is in development?
I think its only a matter of ''time'' before these two pedals become legendary. tc are the best at this stuff especially for the price and flexibility.
wait.... it is stero in, and stero out. and there is additional the option of mono in and stero out. when using this option, you also can tap in the delay timing with an etxtra tap device.
Benjamin Caux I'll tell you it was. For the price you can't go wrong. So much fun and so many sounds to uncover. A great way to get into synthesis at a good price.
I don't think so it's too modulated reverb anyway you won't need making some silly unusable sounds with this shittie mash switch it'll get you bored very fast especially on the a flashback 2 this oscillation emulation how many times you gonna use it in a song I mean really just think of it better get an exp pedal and the bigger brother X4 or the Triple delay
Good to see Knobs demo something that's not a ring mod, multi synth, 50 dial, made in the backyard of an Alaskan recluse that's worth $50000
you'll take what you get and like it
Philip Taylor he somehow manages to take the most brutal and sputtery fuzzes and makes them relaxing somehow
I hate ring modulators!
Philip Taylor :B
🤣😂
just got the hall of fame 2 yesterday. loving it so far.
Possibly the best video of these 2 pedals. Thanks
You make some of the calmest yet most detailed pedal demos out there!!! Please keep it up as I can’t wait to see more from you!
I'm not a babyboomer. I don't have middle-aged white man blues. I don't wear dad shorts. I don't have a beer gut and I don't care about Stevie Ray Vaughn. So thank you for making a video of how pedals sound in actual usable situations for guys like me.
You're welcome. Don't sleep on dad shorts though.
Knobs Dad shorts are fine...just not on stage.
You don't need a beer gut to care about Stevie. I know plenty of young guitarists that love him.
"I'm a hipster" would have sufficed.
Okay, but 'douche' would have sufficed... :P
I just came back from seeing Opeth, Mastodon and System of a Down at the Download. I was looking for something to help me sleep peacefully and suddenly this video appears. Thank you, Knobs!
Pablo255 that's a fucking sick lineup dude!
Holy WHAT!!!!?! Epic night.
Knobs, you are becoming one of my favourite places to visit later in the day... it is a place that is always comfy... thank you.
I am terribly hungover and this is soothing my brain like nothing else can. Like balm, your videos are.
Honestly, whatever you're playing 8:15 onward, makes me feel like weeping.
I get the emotional hangovers too

The best video for these pedals by far
I don't think TC themselves can do a better demo. Also, finally something on this channel that I can actually afford!
They showcase how amazing these pedals are. They're "sleepers".
Yes ! Matching red-blue 3" connecting cable ! ! ! ! Total best !
Fantastic run-through and gorgeous playing. I've not heard anything as unique or wonderful as the Church setting on all the TC reverbs (Trinity, HoF, Arena). Even the Big Sky and Space can't quite get there.
Very happy with my Flashback. Getting ready to get the Hall of Fame. These are a match made in heaven.
Thanks for showing how these would sound if I'd use them. I don't play blues licks and outdated hair metal
Right?! Every freakin demo video is like some metal/blues lick
preach from the mountaintops haha!
This.
Hey, it's Andy with Pro Guitar Shop Demos
Andy is a God though
Best channel ever for pedals thank you !
Knobs has the best video production on UA-cam! They look like Wes Anderson and That Pedal Show had a baby. I play both guitar and synth, and this has become my favorite show.
What a beautiful sound
How did your album project turn out?
I haven't had a bundle of time to work on it, but it's happening. It's probably best to forget it exists and then I'll surprise you one day
Knobs I feel like that's the ultimate best approach to that situation XD
@@Knobs crap I forgot it existed until I saw this again >:(

As a synth guy, I appreciate the synth in the middle. Please add just a little more!
Amazing. You make me go from not caring about a pedal, to practically throwing my money at the company... as if TC hasn't gotten enough of it already.

TC Electronic are preety cool cubes also for synthesizers purpose. I am using that rev with Korg Minilogue and I think it`s excellent.
Wow 😀 the Audio to this Video was so chill and cool sounding. Well done 👌🏻
SOUNDS GREAT! Love your demos.
Where do I get these patch cables?
dude i love the format and style of your videos, wish someone would do similar for bass pedals
childofunicorn be the change
Sandwedge Dan haha i would if someone send me money to buy pedals to demo
Sandwedge Dan but hey, maybe ill try for the few pedals i do have.
The best demos are the ones that have good tones for not a lot of money. Camera audio is a bitch tho.
Awesome video! Dont forget the stereo input on the flashback 2 also serves as a tap tempo input.
I'd love to see some more mainstream pedal brands on this channel. Really great stuff as always.
Yeah Electro-Harmonix have plenty of amazing pedals, attack decay, ring thing, 8 step etc that need these kind of demos to truly make them shine. Too many rock licks in a lot of other videos
loved the synth break
i need another vid with these two! i wanna see double mashing with both active.
I would love to see a video of improv your favorite pedals/personal pedalboard.

No behringer comments yet? Fuck money :D
Heeeeeey Simon
Just got Flashback 2. Long, joyous days ahead.
Have you tried it with an external tap tempo? Is it true that just can be used in mono with that option enabled?

Yo the music was so lit
this demo sold me
Amazing demo!!!
This video made my day
This is just crazy! Woooow!
That intro sounds super weill suited for sampling in some trap instrumental, I really like it altough its super simple.
Do you do port and starboard for your stereo cables on purpose?
What guitar and amp do you use for your demos? Your clean tone is always so easy on the ears.
In the comments of an older video he said he uses a Danelectro guitar. I don't know what amp he uses. He said it's a cheap one.
@@id3072 Maybe it has been added later, but it says: Fender Blues Junior.
Knobs, you can somehow make any pedal sound amazing and relaxing. What sorcery is this?!
The Wes Anderson of pedal demo videos.
The signal is boosted way too noticeably in volume when the mash is engaged. Defeats the purpose imo. Should be subtle entry into the soundscape. Also, does the background signal remain wet once the mash is engaged?
It can be changed in the Toneprint Editor.
Yeah...this is my favorite garden-set. And KNOBS is my favorite fx-channel. ( I am tired of high-speed-killing-music-guitarists with white socks.....)
Truth!🙌. Knobs is the best. I watch their demos repeatedly.
Is there an infinte mode on the HOF 2 aside from stepping on the mash?

But what happens when you hold the Mash for more than 1 second? Do they just get uselessly loud and intense?
Think of Mash like an expression pedal, not an oscillation button. You set the intensity with the pressure you put on it.
the synth break is moist
