Robert Little agreed the 100% tones video by tc (wich are normally great) was pretty disappointing to be honest. I hope better demo by tc comes out as well
joe jefferson I see what you mean. The first version had all the classic reverb sounds in one box. This one seems made to be an ambient reverb pedal and sometimes sounds not natural at all. It's probably not a bad pedal. But they should have give it another name and colour.
Hey Robert, I hope you meant it when you wish me a nice life ! I fucking love this channel, that's why I subscribed. But I already own an ambient reverb pedal. I'm looking for a more "classic" one. I hope I made my thoughts clearer. My comment wasn't made to be aggressive or something. Have a nice life too and enjoy the good music and the good gear !
Your ambient tones are the best around the internet. I'm tired listening to people who pretend showing a reverb in mono, with home presets. A real ambient reverb must be showed in stereo, and in all its power.
Thank you! I have been looking for something to “church up” my sound, when playing at church. TC Electronic makes a wonderful product. I own their Dark Matter Distortion pedal. I absolutely love it and use it every day. I was running a little distortion with some delay and a little chorus, to fill in the power chords and give them more body. You have officially sold me on this pedal. I was looking at the Boss RV6, but this has a wider range of tones that I will actually use. Thank you again!
Since I stumbled upon your site a month ago, I look at your site first for product reviews and demos. Another wonderful and thoughtful product review. This is my next purchase thanks in large part to your great review and demo. Thanks, Bill. You are inspiring me to travel the ambient path. I'm 65 and playing in a classic rock band. But this touches the quiet part of my musical heart.❤
I was debating which reverb pedal to buy to take over from my HX Stomp when I want it to focus on other things, and was hunting for good reviews of it. You're a master of this kind of thing and it was awesome to see you'd done a great review on it. Thank you!
Terrific walkthrough! I got this pedal yesterday and wasn't having any luck with the MASH function except on preset 3, but seeing how you adjusted the level and decay through the various types shows me where I went wrong. Thanks!
I just got this pedal yesterday. Oh My Gosh. It's an instant ambient machine. And of course, when I wanted to get a bit more insight into how to use it I immediately go to your channel.
Wonderful review! Thank you very much! I haven't tried this pedal but have the delay equivalent the flashback 2 which is just amazing! This seems very similar in terms of upgrades. The mash thing really is incredible, you can get so much expression out of it! Takes the sound into the heavens.
The number three "Tone Print" has some overtones that remind me of the Fripp and Eno "Prophecy Theme" from that Dune movie that got mad back in the '80s. That tune was probably the best part of that movie.
I love the new mash function. That makes this a serious tool for $99! Its also very brave of TC. Companies don't often release iterations that make all previous versions immediately and completely obsolete.
That’s really great thing with your expression pedal. I was waiting for something like this. Finally an expression pedal without pedal for a smaller footprint.
Thank you! This demo brought out interesting aspects not presented in other demos. Now I have to sneak one home and sell my old Hall of Fame (still a favorite)
Impressed :) Just ordered a full menu of TC Electronic pedals: Hall of fame2, Corona, Vortex and Flashback ( jury still out on Brainwaves) to go along with my two Streicfetts. If they will be here next week, so I'll be having most exciting Christmas holiday
Sweet. Just got this pedal along with the FB2. Watched a bunch of demo vids talking about tech stuff but light on really demoing out sounds. Thanks for this vid!
Great video, I will also put this on the "to get list". I some general questions about your videos. 1. What are examples of the type of ambient guitar music you are playing? Who are you listening to? 2. Would you at some point be willing to do some kind of "history lesson," going into the history of ambient and what it has developed into? Do you already have one? 3. How much of what you teach can be applied to ambient's sister genres, such as slowcore and shoegaze?
i never was fan of reverb never had a pedal and my tubes amps dont have either but somehow that guy just sold me one among with the flashback.i need to wait 2 weeks flying from germany to greece.i cant wait
I have been user of boss, line 6, full tone, dunlop, mxr, eventide, electro Harmonix, red witch, bogner, egnater, livewire, digitech, Ibanez, etc.And I can only assure something, the only pedals that would undoubtedly be re-purchased if something happens to them, would be those of TC Electronics. If someone had told me this from the beginning, I would have saved big money.
Another very cool thing I found with the original HoF (which I still have) that you don't see until you dive into the toneprint editor, is that you have the "ducking" feature from the Nova reverb in there, so you can have a massive reverb that ducks the volume to avoid it sounding muddy when you play, and then swell back to really ring out once you stop playing. Hopefully this is still in the HoF2?
i was just looking for a reverb for some very wet post punk/darkwave vocals and hearing the shimmer and this going full wet with the guitar sold me, wow.
also it's refreshing to see a reverb reviewed without some blues noodling and a lack of understanding of those of us who want full ambience, i spent hours of watching demos before finding this, thank you.
Looks like I'll be buying another TC pedal. Thanks for the excellent review. Tore should have you visit TC in Denmark so you could make the "Orionverb" Tone Print.
I use an original version at church playing and always use the mod with decay and level 90% maxed out. It's great for swells and emphasis. I think I need this new one also. Just because it's awesome.
So i didnt really understand how the mash button works. When you press the switch one time and the light is on i cant really hear the pedal. Is it only engaged when you press again to use the mash function and on the same time you use it as expression pedal?
So you press on it once to turn the pedal on (like all pedals). Then you press that same switch harder to activate mash. You’ll know you did it right when you see the mash light turn on. The mash light gets brighter the harder you press down, which in turn means you’re getting more of whatever parameters the mash changes. Some of the modes might not use MASH if it’s anything like this company’s delay pedal.
Strange question, does the mash button go beyond the dials in regard to intensity? Or is a full press of the button the equivalent of the max setting on a knob?
Can the on off button be used non expressively? i.e. just to turn the thing on and off or does that button only do the MASH thing? Pedal sounds great but not too keen on the expression idea
Awesome video Bill. This is definitely on my "to get" list. Silly questions time! 1. Do you have to mash the button to get really heavy reverbs 2. When is it available for purchase? 3. How much is it?
1. No. The MASH button is optional. You have all the same controls as the original HOF 2. Availability = Wish I knew! 3. Price - Based on Sweetwater's pre-order, looks like the same price as the original HOF.
Chords Of Orion Thank you so much for your reply. Your videos have really inspired me to try new pedals out and really try and develop the sound I hear in my head and want to put through a speaker.
Very nice. Where would you place this in a pedal chain? I am building a large board w/ compressor, various fuzz, overdrive and distortion, vol pedal, chorus-flange-phase, wha and of course several delays.? thanks
I am a keyboard player and a little new in the TC electronic stuff so I want to know if these "tone print" settings are fabric preset or ... They sound interesting to couple with my old synth sounds. Thx in advance for the inputs
If you're wanting to cover a few different songs, with different reverb sounds.... does the 3 tone print slots let you save a "preset" of sorts, so you can immediately dial in that sound simply by selecting one of the tone print positions...?
Hi, I like the sound of this box but I already have a Mooer Ocean Machine so I think it would not really add anything to my setup? Except for the Mash knob.
Great review, Bill :) For ambient tones, which would you recommend most: Hall Of Fame 2 or Neunaber Immerse Reverberator? I play in a Yamaha SLG200s (acoustic silent guitar). Thanks in advance!
I would recommend them both. As to choosing one, I think it comes down to: 1) do you want the MASH button on the HoF2, 2) Do you care about kill dry and tails mode switches on the outside of the Immerse (vs. inside the HoF2) 3) Do you want the ability to create custom reverbs via TonePrints and 4) Both the HoF2 and the Immerse have distinct reverb sounds. Which do you like better?
Great video! Do you need to use 2 amps to really get the best from this pedal? I note you are not using any amp? Are you just going from the guitar to the pedal to the 2 inputs on the sound card and using an a software amp in logic? Sorry if this is a dumb question. I just love the sound and would like to try to get something close.
Great questions! I you want to run in stereo (like I do), you will need 2 amps or an amp modeler. I go the second route and use an Avid Eleven Rack, which has stereo outputs. I then run those into my recording interface, or if playing out live, a pair of smallish full range PA speakers. For recording, you can also do as you suggest - run the stereo outs of the last pedal in your chain into the computer, and then apply a software amp modeler. Lots of options!!
Hello! In your experienced opinion, is it possible using the toneprint of the tc Electronic Hall Of fame 2 is to obtain the effects of the T2 pedal that you show in the corresponding video? Thanks
I would guess so, as the reverb engine in t he T2 supports tone prints. I would also guess it would take some experimenting to try and replicate the settings.
How is the switch press? Is it a soft press or a really clicky press? I have one of the older TC Corona's and I hated the switch on it because it would click on only once it was pressed 95% of the way down.
Are the TonePrint slots presets or is it more like another model? If I save a TonePrint settings, will it save or will it match the knobs at their current spot?
Is it possible to replicate sounds from other pedals, via the Toneprint Editor? For instance, could you replicate, say,the Plate Mod setting on the Digitech Supernatural Reverb??
The bob Ross of ambient guitar
Was just thinking that
and looks like Davos Seaworth :)
I just choked on my drink lmao
I've been saying this for ages!
I swear I've said that to myself as well lol so spot on
Thank you for the comprehensive review, Davos Seaworth
Omg yes
We needed a proper ambient guitar review of this pedal, and now we have it. Thanks, Bill.
Robert Little agreed the 100% tones video by tc (wich are normally great) was pretty disappointing to be honest. I hope better demo by tc comes out as well
Kevin Nel I love TC, but you're right, the TC video is awful !!!
joe jefferson I see what you mean. The first version had all the classic reverb sounds in one box. This one seems made to be an ambient reverb pedal and sometimes sounds not natural at all. It's probably not a bad pedal. But they should have give it another name and colour.
Hey, there are lots of channels out there. This one is not for you. Have a nice life!
You're awesome Bill. Usually I just tune in to hear you play, but this time I really needed this review! Thanks a million.
Dude, you have a voice meant for meditation and guided imagery. Ahhh, so soothing.
Thanks very much!
Your ambient tones are the best around the internet. I'm tired listening to people who pretend showing a reverb in mono, with home presets. A real ambient reverb must be showed in stereo, and in all its power.
Added one to my pedalboard this week. So happy with it, including the mash. Absolute game changer
Good to hear Charles!!
I come for the pedal review but stay for your soothing sounds and magnificent music
Thank you! I have been looking for something to “church up” my sound, when playing at church. TC Electronic makes a wonderful product. I own their Dark Matter Distortion pedal. I absolutely love it and use it every day.

Thank you again!
what a pleasing, well produced, sincere review video. and this guy is an amazing player
I freaking love how he gets those Eric Johnson ambient vibes. Damn I’m glad I bought this.
Since I stumbled upon your site a month ago, I look at your site first for product reviews and demos. Another wonderful and thoughtful product review. Sir Davos?
Ser Davos
That's the guy
ahahahaah is the same!
U kill me
He's smuggling pedals now?

If this comes with some of the kush he's hitting I'm buying one right now!! Love this review.
This is a great video of this pedal. I’m sold. Your playing is very soothing.
Glad you like it! And thanks!
That flanger and shimmer sounds so beautiful!! especially on your baritone guitar :)
Best demo I’ve seen of this pedal. Thanks.
Glad you liked it and thanks for letting me know!
It was this particular video that prompted me to buy this unit. Loving it :-) - no regrets! Thanks for posting this video, brother.
As always, great demo and great sounding reverb pedal. I just ordered one and can't wait for it to come in.
Wonderful review! Thank you very much! I haven't tried this pedal but have the delay equivalent the flashback 2 which is just amazing! This seems very similar in terms of upgrades. The mash thing really is incredible, you can get so much expression out of it! Takes the sound into the heavens.

I love TC! Got the polytune obviously…but every pedal I have had from them has been 100% solid
Man I'd walk through Heaven's Gate to these sounds. Pass the Kool Aid!
Just saw this newly listed on sweetwater and swooped it right up, great review man !
Great demo, Bill! The new MASH technology seems awesome. :)
Wow, amazing sounding pedal and great playing!
I hope they do a new generation Trinity with some shimmer presets and MASH technology too!
Impressed :) Just ordered a full menu of TC Electronic pedals: Hall of fame2, Corona, Vortex and Flashback ( jury still out on Brainwaves) to go along with my two Streicfetts. If they will be here next week, so I'll be having most exciting Christmas holiday
Church mode is worth the price of admission in my version 1. It's my only reverb.
That shimmer gives me goosebumps!
Awesome demo man. Loved that one riff about half-way into the video.
Never realized how freaking amazing reverb pedals are. To me they were always an afterthought.
Wow! A lot of power packed into so small of space. It sounds great!
Fantastic demo Bill. Just purchased on at a great sale price. This is going to be fun!
Excellent!!!
Finally a proper ambient review. Thank you!
Sweet. Just got this pedal along with the FB2. Watched a bunch of demo vids talking about tech stuff but light on really demoing out sounds. Thanks for this vid!
Insane !!!!, love that pedal, and you're so tuned into it !
8:32 tone print 3. that was majestic.
also ... there's a little ant walking by next to the pedal at 9:21 XD
so random haha
You know...you have too much time on your hands!! lol
Eat more carrots.
I like that little ant 🐜
I can tell.. This pedal is phenomenal
Great video, I will also put this on the "to get list". I some general questions about your videos.

Beautiful playing and great demo, thank you
just picked this bad boy at sweetwater mega store in ft wayne IN today… got to demo it there on a baritone gretsch … what a combo
Sounds amazing. Greatly priced too!
Very nice demo. Thx. Your voice is perfect for audiobooks 🥂
i never was fan of reverb never had a pedal and my tubes amps dont have either but somehow that guy just sold me one among with the flashback.i need to wait 2 weeks flying from germany to greece.i cant wait
btw that shimmer sound like allien tech.i only hope my amps accept those babies well at their loop

Soooooooo goood I'm about to get my Flashback 2, hopefully get one these as well early next year! Awesome awesome review!
This feels like an ASMR style pedal demo. I love it. Lol

Analog Monoxide that sounds rad
It's a really great feature I always use it on my custom toneprint.

I don't play particularly ambient stuff, or even listen to it, but I love watching yr reviews. Nice work, Sir!
Thanks very much!

Fantastic demo mate.
2:20 it has a small 2 way switch (short and long). Not 3 ;-)
Great toneprints! Very inspiring.
Good complimentary playing with this pedal. I like all sorts of music, but ambiance is absolutely my favorite. Good video.
Thanks!
Strange question, does the mash button go beyond the dials in regard to intensity? Or is a full press of the button the equivalent of the max setting on a knob?
Wish the deeper controls could be accessed via volume pedal as an expression pedal. Nice sounds.
I could spend several days exploring the different sounds available!
this is such an amazing pedal!! i want one
Yes you do. And...stay tuned for the Flashback II. I think you will want one of those too. :-)
thanks bill. i gotta buy this pedal ASAP. and now i am considering to sell my digitech supernatural.
Actual playing starts at 3:55
Epic Sound! Amazing pedal!
Listening to this demo makes me happy. :) Realizing I can't afford this makes me sad. :(
Jan Bautista look on gumtree for second hands or on local Facebook music gear selling pages.
THERE CHEAP IF YA GO ONLINE TYPE IN HALL OF FAME REVERB 2 AN YOULL FIND SOME YOU CAN AFFORD 2ND HAND BUT IN GREAT SHAPE!!!!
You could afford it! It’s not expensive! Save a little bit every week
if you still want i can buy you one
Can the on off button be used non expressively? i.e. just to turn the thing on and off or does that button only do the MASH thing? Pedal sounds great but not too keen on the expression idea

Hi Ian! According to Thomann, they'll begin shipping this pedal the 23th of June for a cost around 150€. :)
dry0nPS Thanks for the info. I have the hall of fame mini and have wanted to upgrade to the full size. Glad I waited so this could come out!
Very nice. Where would you place this in a pedal chain? I am building a large board w/ compressor, various fuzz, overdrive and distortion, vol pedal, chorus-flange-phase, wha and of course several delays.? thanks
Okay, this expression function is A M A Z I N G
The flanger delay toneprint is legit!
Beautiful playing! Does the level knob act as an output/unity control, or more as a dry/wet mix control?
This is cool .Thank you for the video.
Good God this man is high as a kite!
yeah lmao
Kill Courtney He plays better I believe.
its a yes here !
excellent work Bill. not sure it could tempt me away from the big sky though!
I am a keyboard player and a little new in the TC electronic stuff so I want to know if these "tone print" settings are fabric preset or ...
They sound interesting to couple with my old synth sounds.
Thx in advance for the inputs
The sound prints in this video are the factory settings. But you can definitely make some great sounds with customizing your own tone prints.
If you're wanting to cover a few different songs, with different reverb sounds.... does the 3 tone print slots let you save a "preset" of sorts, so you can immediately dial in that sound simply by selecting one of the tone print positions...?
If you don't mind reaching down and turning the knob, you could do that.
Are those THREE toneprints STOCK w/pedal or do you have to DOWNLOAD? Thank you..........., i have this pedal on way!
Hi, I like the sound of this box but I already have a Mooer Ocean Machine so I think it would not really add anything to my setup? Except for the Mash knob.
Does it come with a USB to connect the pedal to a phone or computer for the tone print app? What kind of USB is it?
Great review, Bill :)
For ambient tones, which would you recommend most: Hall Of Fame 2 or Neunaber Immerse Reverberator?
Thanks

How is the switch press? Is it a soft press or a really clicky press? I have one of the older TC Corona's and I hated the switch on it because it would click on only once it was pressed 95% of the way down.
Ugh. I said I wasn't going to buy another TC pedal for the sake of keeping my board diverse. Now this comes out as I'm shopping for a reverb!
So many companies are making great pedals. I already want this and the ehx oceans 11 and i have rv500 and the mxr reverb.
Phenomenal demo thank you!!
this video feels so surreal
Are the TonePrint slots presets or is it more like another model? If I save a TonePrint settings, will it save or will it match the knobs at their current spot?
