That is so true. Back in the 80s, at the Model Engineers Exhibition, at Alexandra Palace, London, an engineer BUILT a 1/12th scale model of a BRM 2-litre V8 F1 engine. He made everything, right down to oil rings, nuts, bolts, screws. Everything. And it ran on real fuel, cooled through a radiator, and had real oil for lubrication. He did tell me he was building the F1 car to take the engine, but, sadly, I only saw him that once. THAT was model engineering at its peak of ability and artistry.

Even if I had not found the video interesting, I would've upvoted & subscribed simply because of the absence of crappy EDM music or any music at all for that matter. The clicks, thuds and whrrrs is all the sound needed, it makes its own music.

Amazing. I was shocked to see the cam shafts and timing belt. And the tiny oil pump. But the glo plugs? So, its a RC engine with 8 tiny cylinders. Still cool though. Good for a paperweight and conversation piece

A fantastic piece of engineering, wonderful to see it all going together! My only criticism was in the use of a round dowel pin in a square keyway to locate the flywheel and starter gear on the crankshaft at 7:40 Minutes, not good engineering practice and would wear badly, otherwise, it's a 10 out of 10! 👍

That’s pretty wild! Sounds like a V-8 engine too. It’s pretty amazing. I think that would be awesome to have it on a Scaled RC Vehicle, like a HellCat!!!
Clearly this video shows an amazing work of craftsmanship. And so as others ask was it a kit or did you craft it all. Having all the parts so well crafted would identify the amazing engineering and major expense in a one off. This amazing craftsmanship would not have been possible 30 years ago. I would question that factor. Regardless it’s shows what is possible in the micro world of amazing craftsmanship Nice. A well crafted video show too.

El aceite en los cilindros es arriba y los pistones con anillos llevan mucho aceite. Los balancines igual, antes de armar hay que poner aceite. La grasa encima sirve de muy poco. Al arrancar se oye mucho ruido debido a falta de lubricación. El humo azul es sobrecalentamiento. Creo que el motor se pegó al final, no por falta de combustible. Hay detalles. Bonito proyecto.

so yes, he built it. DID he engineer it and machine all the parts? No. But the definition of build does not mean said things... it means put together. Someone can build a house, but they dont have to design it, nor do they have to mill all the lumber from trees either..... DURRRRRR

その事を思い出しました。
