When replacement of timing chain.
When replacement of the new engine.
Do not perform this operation when replacement of used timing chain or used engine. - Авто та транспорт
Thanks . You are the only person to explain procedure clearly 👍
Hi again, thank you for your video
Wish you were in the uk and could fix my Mazda!!
Thanks, after replacing the head gasket had the loose chain error and the red triangle warning light in the dash. Followed this and disappeared, I am amazed! Cheers!
Hey, could you tell me what was the mileage of the vehicle, it is not normal that a warning light comes on after head gasket replacement. Unless the timing chain was stretched before replacement. Could you tell me more about the case?
What country are you in
That’s you very much ,it’s helping a lot ,your video saved me today
What was error code and symptoms? Thank you
The replacement is not related to anything you asked for. It was just an instructional video on how to do it when needed. If the chain is stretched, it might trigger a dtc.
Thank you for your help
You are welcome👍
That’s very much for information
Got a code P1336 few weeks after replacing chain in Mazda CX 5 2.2 175 auto. Replaced both sensors camshaft /crancshaft didn't help. This worked.
Just wait until 65 degrees and re-learn then erase the codes. Problem solved.
Good stuff
Thank you!
Great Video . I have rebuilt my engine with new Bottom end bearings and have test driven the car and the Oil Pressure light has come on . Not sure if I should use the Timing chain learning procedure as its the same chain. ? Is there an issue with these engines oil pressure sensors.
Do not perform timing chain learning procedure on old chain. If you rebuild engine you shouldn't have oil pressure light, try to reset oil life, this can trigger oil pressure warning light, This happens on older Mazdas. You need to check oil pressure as well, and that is just in case.
To reset oil, you will need "IDS" Mazdas diagnostic tool or equivalent, to check oil pressure you need the same tool and You go to Parameter called "EOP" which is engine oil pressure, check at hot engine at 1.5K RPM reading should be above 140 kPa, then at 3.5K RPM reading above 310 kPa.
We never had an issue with pressure sensors.
@@JB_Auto Thank You for the Reply . I really appreciate it as have spent a fortune on this car and really hoping I haven't messed up something. Thanks again.
@@Floweaver You are welcome.
Hi i hav a problem with my mazda 6 2.w skyactiv-d. its had injector leaking which i changed but still the same noise. And its confirmed that its not new injector.. the car is over fueling it seems and knocking noise from it.. the.mechanic put a computer only thing its sayin the injectors are out of range.. xus it be the timing or camshaft or is my pistons gone.. can u pls advise?? Thanx..
You need a proper diagnosis, not guessing😉 I would go to the dealership; technicians are well-trained and experienced and will quickly figure that out for you. Based on your description, I can't help you much. The only help I can offer is to use my videos as resources, and it may guide you to the solution. In many cases, you may need to remove some parts for verification, not guessing, and, most importantly, proper diagnosis.
Mazda espouse their "maintenance free" timing chain crap. What would be a suitable timing chain replacement period for a low mileage, regularly serviced 2016 1.5 Skyactiv D? Or should I just listen out for that tinkly chain rattle?
Thanks for the question. The timing chain is maintenance-free on the 2.2 engine. I have never replaced any on those engines( mileage up to 300K km). Regarding 1.5 D we had no issues yet, and it is maintenance-free as well. Are you sure the sound is coming from the timing chain? If you service it regularly, mention it during the next maintenance. I would like to hear more from you about that.
@@JB_Auto Thanks for your prompt response and I'm glad to hear that you have not had issues with 1.5D timing chains. I have not heard any noises yet, I mentioned it as a method of determining a problem rather then removing the timing chain cover to inspect. Sorry for the confusion.
Hello, after i changed the timing chain,i have code erorr p1336 ,how can i solve it
Hello, did you have any MIL before timing chain replacement?
If you had the same DTC before replacement, then try to perform timing chain initialization and Delete DTC. I'd like to hear from you if it helped.
What the benifits of doing this mate
Hi, check out the description 🙂
@JB_Auto does this make the car run better and give better economy after the timing chain calibration
@KhanKhan-lw8fw The initialisation itself doesn't change any of that; the replacement of the chain could have an impact on that.
@JB_Auto oh how would you sort that out
@KhanKhan-lw8fw I'm not going to elaborate on that; to do so, I would need to be acquainted with software logic, which is unavailable for workshops. You can always experiment with what happens before and after 😉
