      @@likah4936 they need at least 24-48 hrs to digest their meal! They can regurgitate it and that is very harmful to them!

    first of all, I just wanted to say that I love you and all of your content! I recently got my first snake! he is a banana ball python and he's around 2 years old. When we got him the owner mentioned something about him having some feeding problems, but we were so excited that we ignored it. for the first couple of weeks, he refused to eat and he was getting pretty skinny, my parents and I were super worried because the previous owner had said it had been a couple months since he ate before we got him. But after watching your videos and following your advice, he finally ate! so thank you, from our family

    My ball python is 7 months old. When I upgraded him I decided to get tub to hold more humidity. His tub is equivalent to a 45 gallon and he loves it. He has 4 hides and some skewered bamboo across the center like a bridge. He has some other cool stuff and it was fairly cheap to do. He is very active at night and then all day he rest in his hides, usually switching from them once or twice. He eats well and his sheds have been nice (he used to skip feedings but doesn’t anymore).

    I really believe in the covering the back and sides of your tanks i have a cornsnake that was extremely shy and would never come out but after covering the back and sides of the tank with black poster board he is out all day he's way more calm and now he will even come check me out every now and then he's a totally new snake in my opinion it might not work for everbody but I've tried it and it has worked for me plus it helps to sit by there tank and maybe read a book or do something that's calm and make slow movements and after a while they get used to you being around but a big thing for me was at first my snake would hate for me to have eye contact with him but now after spending the time with him and sitting near his tank he's fine now.

    Hi there thanks for creating and sharing your informative videos. I'm looking for tips on how to rehabituate my Brazilian Rainbow Boa "Loki"to being taken out of his terrarium to hang out and or play with me again? He was hand-raised by me from a baby and has always been very calm and affectionate and non aggressive while being handled I always fed him outside of his terrarium but for the last six months or so my mom has been really ill and I've been in and out of the hospital and taking care of her almost full-time so I started to feed him in the terrarium to save time now now every time I open the terrarium he's ready to strike right at the top of the enclosure because he associates everything with food now.
    I knew this was a possibility that he would develop this Behavior but I didn't really have a choice TimeWise.... However now that my mother is a bit better I'd like to start handling him again outside of his enclosure but I'm not sure how to safely get him out without him furiously striking at me Non-Stop? He has a very aggressive food response! Thanks in advance for your assistance I look forward to hearing from you 🙏💗🐍

    So we are going on for weeks now and I have not been able to get it to eat for me. I have tried numerous times each week and he does seem pretty stressed around me. I’m not sure of the age since I got it at a pet store who could not tell me but they had it for at least three months so we’re thinking it is for five months old. It has been very stressful for me since he’s not eating 😞 I will take your advice that I will take some time. I will give it time 🙏🏽
    Thank you!

      I just got my first ball python 3 weeks ago. He also decided not to eat. Im not an expert but i think it's best to not try feeding too often and just feed them every time you would usually. Im feeding mine every ten days and inbetween i wont try again. I think its a good idea for them to calm down and not stress them out if their not going to eat anyway. Theyre more likely to eat if theyre comfortable. If u have managed to get him to feed in the meantime, what helped u best? Seeing as im going through the same struggle haha

    My ball python Jalapeno (named after José the Jalapenio on a Stick by Jeff Dunham) does this cool thing when she gets curious about me. I'll be in front of her tank for 10 minutes or so with the lid off just hanging out, and she'll come out of her tank, approach me and then sniff my nose for a minute before going about her day. I think it's so awesome. It's like our own little greeting and it's what makes her special to me. I used to spend hours infront of her enclosure watching Josser's channel (and others) and learning all about my snake in those crucial first-stages of snake ownership (she was my first big purchase after turning 18, and this channel is the channel that introduced me into proper husbandry.) At some point in those strings of interactions she started doing the boop thing with me and really started to relax around me and that was so important for the both of us. I don't care what the other guys may say, sit with your reptile. Do it in a non-demanding, non-invasive way to form a bond (or at least an understanding so to speak) with them. It really does work. With a handful of small investments of your time, you can get the best out of your animal. My snake and i are buds now. We understand eachother. And i think that's pretty cool. I also think everyone should have a chance at that. For me, that's what makes reptile keeping so rewarding.

    I didn’t know anything about ball python snakes or any snakes really. I have been reading different things online so I’m a little stuck. I know it is a baby. We got it as a gift for my son. We have a double lamp at top of the cage and one is a heat lamp and one is for daytime. Unfortunately, the heat lamp is bright and I read that they are supposed to have darkness at night time. What can I do about this? Also the pet store said that it eats once every Thursday evening. Since we just got it three or four days ago. She hasn’t been with us long, but she would not eat the frozen but thawed out mouse. What do I do?

    Thank you for the tips I just got a snake a few weeks ago I'm going to try these tips. I find that he will unfurl and then start exploring and trying to get away from me..if I'm on my bed he heads for the side against my wall and I'm worried he'll go down under my bed and it'll be difficult to get him back! Or if on the floor he will head for under my bed again or go into the closet. So I feel like he's trying to escape me to find a safe spot and anyway I don't want him to get lost in my room. He's very fast 😅 and I'm trying to let him do it on his own but when he finds a dark spot he determinedly heads for it so quickly!

    So I only want one snake.. I have wanted a female blue eyed Lucy or a banana ball python forever! I am very conflicted with whether I should put a ball python in a pvc enclosure or in a rack system. I’m terrified they’ll be stressed and go off food. I am also considering a male boa. What do you think?

      Hi,
      Of the two, I'd recommend pvc enclosure :-)
      Boas are amazing too, can only recommend :-)

    Hi, my autistic son had fallen in love with my neighbours pythons and boa so I decided to get him his own, so I decided to get an adult as I had Read babies could be a little nippy and I didn't want him to end up being scared of them so we got him his snake a 7 year old ball python he called his optimus prime🤣, now he's been feeding like a champ but his poop hasn't been consistent he pooped the day after we got him and it was hard as a rock the same with his 2nd and 3rd then he has a massive poop still quite hard but then yesterday he again he just pooped the white bit with a little yellow bit, does it sound like he's constipated and if so how can I help him?. Any advice from anyone would be really appreciated I to have fallen in love with the little dude so I really want him to be OK 🐍💜

    Mine literally watches me and waits until i got to bed to come out. Been staying up toll 12:30 every night to try and catch him out and hold him. When i cook he pops his head out of hide and watches me lol.

    I liked the smell of my snake, it smells cute and I love my snake so much.
    But today, he went into the fake tree trunk I put inside the terrarium and I was worried about him because I thought that he was stuck, and I helped him by touching his tail so he will go out from the other side and I failed so I put him back inside the terrarium and when I checked again after a few minutes, he is in his house again🎉🎉🎉

    Working on acclimating my ball python to me! I got him as an already socialized adult so he tolerates handling very well, but I'm still trying to be patient and let him adjust because I want him to actually enjoy his time outside of his enclosure.

    • @randomhandle
      @randomhandle 2 роки тому

      And how is it going? How long did it take for him to start eating and feeling comfortable outside the enclosure?

    • @jordanh6760
      @jordanh6760 2 роки тому

      @@randomhandle He's never had a problem with eating. I actually changed my strategy to a consent-based handling technique as described in Lori Torrini's videos as well as target training. He is very comfortable outside of his enclosure now and will frequently seek out adventure time. I never have to pull him out of his enclosure I just have to wait until he's ready to come out on his own. I'm still working on getting him to voluntarily climb onto me though. He's obviously comfortable with handling but doesn't seem to like enjoy it. So I try to only handle him if I have to move him and otherwise just let him do his thing.

    Is it possible that, due to meds I had to inject to my snake, our bond got destroyed?

    • @mnyaaa
      @mnyaaa 3 роки тому

      He is stressed both in AND out of his tank, refuses to eat, but the temperature and humidity are perfectly fine :( could it be that I am the reason for his stress? (I've had him for over 6 years and it started three months ago, gave him meds for three weeks up until now)

    • @JossersJungle
      @JossersJungle  3 роки тому +1

      Giving meds can cause a lot of stress, especially in ball pythons. It's not unusual that they stop eating.
      You can try this once you've stopped giving the meds
