I handled my snake for the first time today, and I was amazed at how chill he was. Ever since I held him, he’s been watching me, trying to stay as close as possible to me in his tank(my couch is next to the tank, he stays pressed against the glass facing me.). He gets tense when I go away, and only settles back down when I come back. It’s super weird, but awesome
The samething happened when I went outta town with my little guy
I think they develope a sense of security from some handlers. If they feel more safe around us it makes sense that not having us around would raise stress for those snakes. My little guy won't venture too far when we take hime places without making sure we're right there lol.
@@xaviergalvez3013 Yeah, when I am next to my snake he tries to get out the glass and look at me so badly.. but when I leave and just look in he's curled up. I'm next to the cage 24/7 tho!
For me, my snake is scared of me and gets stationary when i walk into the room but i think she will grow out of it. I susoect it is because the breeder we got the snake from didn't handle the snkaes and they became scaredy
That's cool I want pet snake ball python
I remember when my boyfriend and I first adopted our snake, Zeus, back in February. At the store, he was very aggressive, hissing and striking, the gentleman even showed us cuts on his hand that were apparent bites from our snake a week before. My boyfriend and I obviously feared, between the aggressive behavior we were seeing with our own eyes and the fact that he was still a feisty 4 month old hatchling, that we were going to have some aggression issues for a while. The second we get him home, it was like he was a new snake. My boyfriend was able to pick him up with ease to put him into his new terrarium. I’ll never forget when Zeus first touched the new substrate, he started burrowing his head and he had substrate all over it😂 he looked so curious and explored and even climbed a bit for a while before settling in one of his hides. He has been so noticeably comfortable since the moment we got him home, and we have never seen him any other way since. Not one hiss, no strikes unless he is being fed. He eats like a champ and is always his curious little self. The pet store environment must have been awful for him and I am so happy that we have given him a better life! He is now 10 months old💕
Sarah Lindsay that’s such an awesome story! So happy for you, your boyfriend, and your pet snake 😊 so if you don’t mind me asking, what substrate do you use for him?
Anime Dancer thank you💓 I use eco earth! Works great for humidity. Also for humidity I use the exo terra terrarium fogger I love it so much! Helps with shedding
What type of snake is he?
My snake did the same thing but I got him from a pet store so it makes sense
it sounds like he was relieved to get away from the last guy...
I have a red tail boa morph about the same age as your ghost boas. I am disabled due to a recent stroke. I get very bad headaches. My boa wraps around the top of my head, and around my forehead. The headaches go away after a couple of minutes. I think the pressure from him trying to stay up there is making my headaches go away.
@@Javajavajav Especially the fact they can sense fear.
name it hancock
boa hancock hehe
(one piece reference)
Awe that’s sweet it’s like he wants you to feel better
That is incredible! I am studying to be a biochemist and my goal is to work with snakes and with venom to come up with uses. And I know there is something to that! They are such incredible animals and we have some much to learn from snakes!!
Wow! Snakes used for headache relief! Why not? I have arthritis in my right wrist and my juvenile Mojave Ball Python wraps around that wrist and starts undulating in place and it DOES relieve the pain. Now I don't really recommend using your snake as a pain reliever, but it does help in a strange way.
My ball python loves curling up next to me under my blanket when I'm laying on my bed. I guess I'm pretty warm 😜
Michael DeRose they enjoy the heat so they gravitate towards warm spots
You let your snakes roam free!? How are you not dead lol
when ever i try to go near the terrarium mine tries to strike at me through the glass and thinks it’s all tuff and stuff. it’s 8 months old and it’s still trying to murder me. all i want it for it to like meee i don’t know what to do anymore except wait for it to love me i guess lmao.
@Taylor Rikansrud handle it more...Any updates??🤷♂️🤷♂️
@@bighedcity1715 Think of it like a fun time with your snake, one snakes are used to you they will enjoy being took around in a journey.
Honestly I chill in bed with my ball python while I watch TV. I lay there and he either goes into my sleeve or curls up under my shirt. He shows no signs of stress and I enjoy his company so I do not see the harm. I disagree with not being able to bond with snakes (ball pythons specifically in my case) of course it's not like a dog or cat who genuinely have affection for you but it is a bond of trust. I also believe snakes do get benefit from having exercise outside of their enclosures. I handle my bp almost every day minus his shedding period and 48 hours after feeding and he eats, sheds and does all his snakey things just fine. He doesnt bite, ball up or hiss. Hes just content to be with me and I'm perfectly happy with our relationship that way.
It is dangerous to anthropomorphize animals but so is it to objectify them. Snakes are different than mammals. But they are not mindless machines.
That sounds really nice. I like the phrase "it is a bond of trust". Maybe he is an incarnated dog? Who knows? ;-)
I 100% agree, my ball python I got about 2 weeks ago, he's 6 months old, hes slowly starting to trust me, I let him chill on my chest under my shirt, and he doesn't tense up, or show any signs of stress
You have seriously taught me so much about snakes and I really really appreciate it 😃
Shar, my wild-type ball python, is my first and only snake (never fear, she won't *remain* my only snake!). The consensus on the forums seemed to be that you want to give a ball python 30 days to acclimate before handling. So that's what I did. Those were 30 *long* days, let me tell you, but I'm so glad I did it! She was (still is, really) a baby, only a few months old, and now she's to the point where she's comfortable drinking from her water dish while being held.
You're right that she'll never bond with me like my cats will, but there's a level of trust that we've built up that is just so amazing to me. Your channel is what turned me on to snake ownership in the first place, so she and I thank you for that. Keep up the good work!
(and more tarantula videos! The spiders are why I found this channel to begin with, as I am a tarantula keeper, too)
i brought my new baby ball python home and it ate soon as i tried to feed it. i’m so happy! good luck to every one with new snakes.

My honest thoughts:
If you can take care and give love to your Snake, and be okay with it, if the Animal doesn't show love back to you, then it's a new level of being good-hearted. Animals, like Snakes, can not only help you overcome certain fears, but make you a better person. :) Just sharing what I've realized, not intending to say anything negative. :D
True. Loving someone without expecting to be reciprocated is unconditional.
Perfect for me right now. Need to remember to be confident with my new corn snake Phaedra. 👍😁
Same, I got a corn snake a few days ago and she is one hell of a biter, but this helped me calm her down
I want to get a corn snake any tips on how to get them used to handling?
When I got my ball python (im a first time owner) I held her for about two hours. Not only was she slightly used to being held but before I purchased her I'd picked her up and handled her before. She does pop her head out to see me when I come home but she does get annoyed when I am feeding her and am too close to her.
When you feed your snake, is it live feed or frozen/ thaw? Mine is F/T as I don't have nerve enough to try live feeding.
@@daemonwhitebeard6590 my ball python is like 6 months old, his breeder said he ate both f/t and live, so the first week I had him, I did live, he ate very well, and then yesterday I tried feeding him f/t, he refused it, I tried warming it up, and trying to make it look alive, he js turned his head and went the other way, it was like he was scared of it, so I went and got a live rat, put it in his tank, once he saw it, he got very still, and waited for it to come closer, and that's when he ate... The first rat I fed him was cute, and it hurt me to see it die, so I wanted to do f/t... But he js won't eat it.
So now I'm just going to feed him white lives rats, bc the have red eyes and it makes me think of them as a demon lol
@@daemonwhitebeard6590 Ask the handler or store you bought it from! They can help you
Hey! I just got a 9 year old ball python from the animal shelter and wow! I thought I was ready because I’ve been doing research for over a year.. but he’s so much bigger than I expected and I don’t now how to handle him! I’ve had him for a few weeks now and I’ve given him time and he ate about a week ago.. so I for the first time wanted to hold him and OMG was I scared! He’s been held his whole life and he’s a gentle creature and very used to humans. But man is he intimidating. After a pretty major pep talk I went in full with confidence and handled him the best way I could while fully supporting him and what a delight! He was just so relaxed and wasn’t “defensive” at all and just was such a relief! Finally for the first time I felt as if I made the right decision and know ill give him a happy forever home! Also how do you deal with such negative people?! I’m very excited for my new addition to my family and everyone is so mean.. to the point where someone asked me why I hated my daughter because “obviously the snake was going to escape and kill her”... I’ve been having nightmares about Frankie (the snake) even though I love him so much and find him fascinating.
My male western hognose will climb up my hand from his cage and won't get off when I try to put him back. He just winds his way all over and makes these little hissing train noises. Especially loves my beard, climbing in and out of my pockets and my wife's hair. He's been like that from day 1, unfortunately the other 3 snakes aren't like that. They are totally chill but don't love being out more than 10-20 minutes
He sounds just precious
My little hoggie boy does the same! He's a ridiculous creature. He stole my glasses the other day, I kid you not. He decided to climb from my hand to my head and then onto and behind my glasses, and across my face (at one point across my eye and then mouth (me with both squeezed shut while I held super still), just blelele-ing about. Then he wrapped himself around the glasses and refused to let go, so I had to take my glasses off with him on them and put them both on the bed until he decided he was ready to disengage. Tiny wiggly nuisance that he is.
@@FlailTV That´s hilarious! A snake stealing the glasses - that´s really a good story :-)
@@truthseeker6584 Even funnier is that it seems to have become a pattern. My partner's baby boa did it the other day. Same thing, exploring my face and decided to wrap around my glasses and swipe them off my face. He also likes to steal my bracelet.
@@FlailTV Lol. Probably they are magpie morphs ;-)
I'm the kinda gal who would chill with a snake while lying in bed watching Netflux
Meh too
Same!!! Why aren’t there more of us?!?! Hahahah.
Most do.
Same 😂
You are the best and you've motivated to move forward on my Ball Python purchase.
Literally you answer all my questions it’s amazing to me. I’m like watching your videos like Netflix
Okok, so with the whole “don’t stroke the snake when grabbing it” I both agree and disagree. I have a cali king that is almost always turned away from me when I go to handle him. I do slowly and gently touch his midsection to let him know I’m there. Sometimes he gets a little freaked because he wasn’t expecting me, but he calms down quickly. Though, with my ball python, I don’t quickly and effectively take him out without stroking him. I guess it just depends on the snake. :)
I agree with the slight strokes. If I pick my Ball Python straight up he gets startled.
You should have a weird noise that you make before you handle it instead, kind of like how they learn you’re coming when they hear a door sliding in their enclosure
I talk to my juvenile Mojave Ball. I do this so she knows who it is. Once she hears and sees me, her tongue flickers and I know she is OK to be handled. I touch her in the middle to let her know what I am doing and she will raise up a bit so I can pick her up. I've been fortunate so far that she hasn't struck or outright bitten me yet. The first few times I handled her, she hissed at me. Startling but once she got to know me, no more hissing.
I love your info videos! Thank you so much for your dedication! I have an Albino Corn... she's amazing. She's also my first actually so I'm always searching for info on snake care in general. Your accent makes it even easier to watch your videos! Your adorable and extremely knowledgeable! Thanks again!
I was able to teach my bearded dragon what love and affection is while she was growing up, by showing her methods that a typical lizard would know how to show loving affections, and she is able to give them to me whenever I hold her. I'm doing the same thing with my ball python Lukka, and he's catching on pretty quickly. Lukka loves getting nuzzled and would constantly lean in with his head to rub against my nose for nuzzling. Sometimes, he'll rest the side of his head right against my nose and take in a nice long nuzzling from me. Reptiles aren't 100% incapable of showing affectionate gestures, you just have to teach them what it is and how they can show it to their owners. If you're consistent and patient with teaching them and let them understand and interpret what love and affection is, they are perfectly capable of showing it back to you to the best of their abilities, and I get plenty of that from both my reptilian babies. They are my pride and joy, and I make sure they know it.
Love your videos ! I got my ball python 4 days ago ! i followed all your advice ! she loves being with me all ready !
Thank you for this! I took your advice very seriously when I first got little CalKIng, Tiffani, handled her only once a week in the beginning. I can tell she's calmed a lot. We don't usually have the same dramatic chase when I go to get her nowadays. My Baby Bullsnake has been a treat to bond with, very rewarding to see her calm down. As with the rest of her kind, she's prone to dramatic displays, loud hissing and tail rattling. She's really calmed down recently and I've discovered she's one of those rare snakes that enjoy being stroked under the chin. My third snake, Trans-Pecos Ratsnake, Sheldon is tame by nature, but also very nervous. I spend the least time handling him and see it pays off with him being more comfortable with me each time :)
I have a corn snake and she love been hanging and she love her cuddle to 😊 I am really happy with her
Thank you so much for your videos, so helpful and I have gotten so good advice from you. My snakes (cornsnakes) are very easy to handle, but I take them just from Time to Time out of the terrarium. My First one is a female bloodred pied-sided Named Pandora, she is very cool, and gentle, she hast Never bite me, now she is seven years old, 1,30 m and still growing. Your tips helped me to interact with her in a relaxed way, when she comes out of her terrarium. The second one is Persephone, a one year old girl in butter. She is a Little bit more nervous than my big girl, but I hope she will getting cooler the next time. So, Thank you in the name of my snakes and you do a Great job! Best wishes from Germany
I have a ball python that is like a service animal. I get her out when I have super bad anxiety attacks and just the curling up around my arms calms me. Im looking into getting a boa or a heavier snake. I'm still doing research! Id love to see a video of all of your larger snakes
Lexi Stahl you don’t have anxiety attacks
To bong with my new baby ball python, I set her on me while I'm laying in my bed and let her explore while near me to stay warm.

Thank you! I've been doing a lot of research on snakes (more specifically ball pythons) as I await the day I can get my very first snake. Your videos along with many others have helped me so much. Thank you for sharing what you have learned in your experience to newbies like me.
Hi Kaitlin,
I'm so happy to hear that! Let me know if you feel like you need more information on a specific subject - I would love to do a video! :-)
Your videos are so helpful I had a corn snake years ago and now a python they are so different I sit on my couch with my dressing gown on and let her go about her business and she’s warm lol
Unfortunately, I didn't do enough research before I got my boa, or much at all to be honest. I fell in love with her the moment I saw her. When I get her home I did take her out of her enclosure and handled her. I've had her for a bit over a month, she's super sweet, but I feel like I made a huge error in gaining her trust by handling her so quickly.
Your videos are incredibly helpful. I'm comfortable with her, but I need her to be comfortable with me. I really appreciate you making these videos! There's so much information out there, it's hard to decipher what is actually best for my boa.
Has anyone else made this mistake, and if so, do you now have a great relationship with your snake?
I understand I should have researched much more before diving into this commitment, for her sake. I absolutely adore her and just want her to be happy!!
When I first saw a snake in real life and touched it (surprised it was so soft😍) when I was eight, I began loving these animals. A few weeks ago on vacation I saw a huge boa that I was allowed to touch and again I fell in love with these animals (now being 16). As now I have access to the internet (I had never thought about googling before) I started watching videos, learning everything about these precious and magnificent animals that I could. Prior to this I grew fascinated by tarantulas and watching your and other UA-camr's videos made me lose my fear (only these really small jumping spiders still creep me out). Anyway, I have learned so much, I would love to have a snake of my own but my parents won't let me have one (I accept that tho what can I say🤷🏻 their house). I have never handled a snake before, nor touched a spider (your mom said they feel like velcro, I will have to believe her with that 😂). So thanks a lot for you informative videos, I enjoy watching them, you are so amazing I cannot put it in word how much I love your personality and channel (and ofc all your cute and lovely animals 😂😍😉).
Is there any way where I can finally get in contact with spiders or snakes in Germany? What is your story of starting to get in touch with these animals? I would love to meet people who I can talk about exotic animals with (like conventions etc.) do you know anyone/anything in Germany (NRW) or around?
Would you mind if I asked you some questions on Instagram dm😅
Greetings
Julia ☺️
I know in some of her other videos she's mentioned her favorite reptile expo is in Hamm. You can go to expos just to have a chance to touch/hold some animals and learn more about them, you don't have to buy anything (other than the ticket to get in).
@@raelonewolf i heard the expo in Hamm is supposed to be bad by other UA-camr and reviews. I thought about going there once though. It's not to far from where I live so yeah thanks ;)

First time snake owner here, I have experience with snakes since I work directly with reptiles at my pet store so I bought a Brazilian Rainbow Boa because I absolutely loved her, and she is the most curious thing I have ever seen, she isn’t scared of me or anything which I find surprising because she’s still quite young. Overall super happy and she is my UA-cam buddy most nights lol
I love all of your videos! They are so informative! I look forward to seeing more videos that you make! 🐍
I have a 2.5 metre Burmese albino python (male) Sidney who I have only had for around a year now, when I first got him he was very hissy and a bit bitty. But after handling a couple of times a week and letting him out to roam and explore stuff (always attended) we were like best mates, he even managed to convince friends with snake phobias that he was cool. He would even lick my neck. But just a couple of weeks ago he got really aggressive, he has grown 50 cm in a year and can now rise 3M when I open the huge enclosure, but I made the fatal mistake of holding the live rat in my hand instead of just opening the box and letting him do the job. I realize now that it was my fault, he bit me 3 times on the knee, nothing serious and did kind of attack me but it did kind of freak me out and ever since I have been kind of avoiding contact. Any advise on how to re-gain his confidence??
Also, I can't believe how big Pearl had gotten! She looks fantastic!!!!😍
Your good with knowledge. Thanks
I love your videos so much ❤
I'm always telling people that snakes don't like being pet or stroked and that some just deal with it lol
Have watched a few of your videos. Subscribed today. You have helped! Many thanks. Love your channel!
I love this video. Awesome!
I really love your videos. Love from PH.
I don’t know if you have any experience with this, but could you do a video on identifying problems with your snake by looking at their feces? I am going to do my own research, of course, but I really enjoy your videos and as a very experienced snake owner you often include facts and such that informational websites sometimes leave out. Thank you for making these wonderful videos! You’ve already taught me so much :)
Ty for this advice I also love to videos!
Great Video! I watch TV with my Enchi Bumblebee in my lap! She relaxes there completely calm.
can you do a video on the benefits of getting a boa constrictor?
I must have gotten very lucky. My baby boy loves being close to me and getting to explore places when I take him out. He's so sweet and loves meeting new people. That said I do try to leave him be for about 6-12hrs to have his own time.
Make a video on the size of mice to feed your snake
Karson Kruger her is a guide: smaller than 15 inches are pinky’s. 15 to 23 inches: hoppers. 24 inches to 4 feet adult mice. then 5 feet 6 feet young rats. 7 feet or longer adult rats. Though ALWAYS do research because I might have got something wrong.
Look at the widest part of your snake. That's your guide. Feed it mice/rats that are the size of the widest part of your snake or close to it. That's all there is to it.
Charles Eye yeah I got a little too complicated.
@@rivertohowelltomo4833 Are you really trying to claim that a 5 foot Ball Python, Blood Python, Boa, etc shouldn't be eating adult rats? Or that a 10 foot Retic should only be getting a large rat? No. The feed size has nothing to do with the length of the snake. It has everything to do with the width. Please don't tell this to people anymore. Your guide _might_ work for _some_ colubrids but it is definitely not right for the majority of snakes.
Look at the widest part of the snake. Choose a mouse, rat, rabbit, chicken, etc that is that diameter or close to it. That is the only universal method for choosing prey for snakes.
Charles Eye no not at all
You have a Phantom of the Opera tattoo!
I interact with my snakes 2 times a week. Cleaning day I handle each one, look them over and most of the time take pictures, the other day is feed day but i don't handle them but i still consider it an interaction. I love feeding them. The ball pythons and corn snakes get handled a few more times a month though just from my kids and their friends being interested and i love sharing how awesome they are.
Love It 🐍
I just got my ball python yesterday i love it already he’s really curious he just kept looking around at first
Thank you 😃 Very informative.
Hi! I just found your channel and love it! I found this video helpful but I wanted to ask about older snakes. A friend gifted me her beautiful 6 year old boa 3 weeks ago. She seems quite content but I am worried it will be harder because she's older. Would you say these same rules apply for older gals too? Thanks in advance!! 🙂❤
Thanks for the advice
Ariel is so cuuuuuuute!
I have a question!!! My ball python is EXTREMELY head-shy even me moving my hand or arm above or beside her while she's in my lap causes her to jolt backwards and coil up i hate that she's always on high alert and stressed I don't handle her more then 2-3 times awake and she's eating. It definitely startled me too when she jumps which I know doesn't help haha. I see videos of people like petting their snakes head or neck and I can barely get close to her head or face when picking her up without scaring her. I don't ever really plan on touching her face because I know she hates it but I wish she could be a little more relaxed with me just shifting my arm or hands.. any tips on desensitizing her to just general movement when she's with me ?? Love your channel , thanks!

Was that a sunbeam snake?
I recently got a ball python from my local non-chain petstore, and he was a display animal. I decided to try and feed him a day after I got him, and he ate! Being a BP I wasn't expecting him to eat, but he did, took it like a champ. Now I've had him for just under a week and he seems like he gets a little bit of enjoyment out of being handled, and he's no longer head shy with me. I believe that he ate so early and he was so used to being handled because he was a display animal. And at the store he would be pulled out for people to handle at the store. But anyway, I don't know where I was going with this, but I thought I'd share this. ☺
Edit: also what I do to bond with my BP Norman, is watch UA-cam with him, and movies. Heres a life hack also, put your hoodie or sweater on backwards and put your snake in the hood, just make sure they don't get too hot.
Please please PLEASEEEEE make a crested gecko care video!!! I know that I can 100% trust your judgement when it comes to caring for reptiles! Your care videos are the best.
3:31 and some snakes will see it as a sign of feeding, my corn snake will go into a frenzy if he is stroked.
I believe that reptiles can be taught my bearded dragon comes when i move my finger
Man,, I really really want to get myself a cornsnake. I've been doing research on snakekeeping for a month and a half but I still dont think I'm ready,, unfortunately I don't have anyone around me that owns snakes to ask questions/ observe. These videos are one of my only ways to actually learn about snake care.
This is so helpful because on Saturday I’m getting a ball python and I’m so exited I cried when she told me I could get it I’ve been reader her nag them for 4 years
So how is your life with your ball python? Were you two happy together from the beginning? :-)
just got a ball python from a friend and this video was so helpful.. thank you
My wife and I recently got our first Ball Python, she's two years old, and I'm not sure of the morph, but she is Carmel colored. If my wife is in the room, She slips back into her hide, when I am she comes right out. She does shy away when either of us pick her up, but as soon as we are holding her, she calms right down, tongue flicking and exploring. I can usually wrap her around my neck, she grips very snug, sometimes uncomfortably, but within a few minutes, she goes back to sleep, doing nothing but holding on, like a thick scarf. She is a very unusual snake, and I hope neither of us is stressing her, but short of coming when we call, I get the feeling she enjoys having us around, like a new tree to explore or something.
this was very helpful and infomative but if my snake is 5 and if i have been touching him around 2 a week and was not used to this what do i do
I think a snake that is comfortable around you does enjoy getting the chance to explore new things and smells so I think they do benefit a little from handling
Great video!! Ilysm!!!
OMG she liked im fangirling so much rn❤️
Hey Jossers,
Soba comes back to me and looks if i am looking at him whilst he is exploring so i m more of the belief that they feel more than we let out to be

I'm so nervous and excited at the same time! I'm getting my snake on the weekend! Made a big deal with my mom! Already know what I'm getting! coconut fiber to Hyde's I'll probably get a nice one maybe a plastic one or another kind of rock style one I wanted to get some fake leaves maybe a log, a heat mat, a heat lamp if needed, I got to get all the thermometers! Already got a tub to start out small then a 20 long gallon tank(my aunt had it from when her son had a lizard, also got a 5 gallon with a heat lamp and a lot of (I'd say gecko stuff, it was really geckoish! All gecko sized ya know), bad part is the shed, substrate, and feces were all still in that, and the 5 gallon was filled with dead feeder beetles, cleaned a bunch of stuff for basically two days! But it's all good now! I'm gonna upgrade the tank of course to what I'm hoping will be a 40 gallon, hopefully it doesn't get to nervous! And I know in the future, I'd love to fill my 20 long gallon tank with one or two geckos! Got a lot of stuff for it!(I'm saving the gocko stuff for my future geckos and maybe the 5 gallon will come in handy, maybe as a transportion one or to just put the geckos in when I clean the tank, I got a plastic tub for the ball python already! I've thought way too much ahead of time! I better not miss anything! I forgot to make my list of stuff do! I need to do that! Hit me up if ya got a 30 tank or plus for sallllllleeeeee!!!!
Great video (as always). How old/long is Queenie now and is she still in the vivarium from the first of her videos? I'm looking at getting a corn snake and trying to work out how big to go with the vivarium - so would be interested in your view point. I'm tempted to go in the direction of getting a larger one (90 or120cm longx45cmx45cm (I'm going from memory - it may be 60cmx60cm at the sides)) and packing it full of "cover" (vines, plastic plants, tubes, etc) but nearly everywhere else seems to suggest start small and then replace after a year or so once the snake has some size to it.
My mom only allows me to have the snake in the garage, but I definitely don’t want to sleep with my snake in the garage because it’s cold😂
another awesome video loveeee your ball pythons
Great video!! I have 2 questions, hope you will answer them for me.
1 question; I am thinking about getting my first snake, it will be a ballpython. I´m fascinated by these beautifull snakes because of their friendly heads and ofcourse beautiful colours. Are there colours out there, who are more dificult to handle, or are there colours that are known for being more easy to handle? Like, do they know what colour they have and do some feel they have to defend themselves more because of their not camouflating colour, like you see in other animals?
2 question; I would like to have a snake mostly for looking at it, like living art, not for cuddling it around, other pets are better at that job. Is their a minimum amound of time or times you should handle your snake, so it is ok with it if you need it, for like going to the vet or for cleaning op the terrarium? Small question 2b, how often do you clean the terrarium?
I lost my snakes trust, how do I get it back?
@Allyson Rendon do the EXACT opposite of what you did to LOSE it’s Trust!!
I know this is an old comment but the best way to gain an animals trust seems counter intuitive but it’s to handle it even though it doesn’t want you to, it’ll learn you’re not dangerous. Even if it hisses and bluff strikes and gets so anger, persist and after a minute it’ll be calmed back down
I bonded with a juvenile Mojave Ball Python named Medusa. I handed her to my niece so I could clean her habitat and the snake went nuts trying to get to me. Not sure why she freaked out like she did, but it happened. Had her on my kitchen table and started calling her and, believe it or not, she actually came to me. She knows the sound of my voice. Yes, I do talk to my Slytherin baby. I do love my leathery, snakey girl.
My snakes name is Zeus got him about 4 weeks ago got him a really nice enclosure giving him space getting him out every once in awhile feed him properly am trying my best so figured I would see a few videos to see how I can keep my Zeus happy as possible

Jossers Jungle Omg no way! My family is from there. I just got two snakes in the last year and learned how to care for them from your videos! I have a big following on Instagram @theicywyatt I’d love to msg you some time❤️
Had a snake for years held it a few times but I’m to scared to this helped me create a bond with it!
Thank you
Third video of yours in 30 minutes. Record? :)
So do you have any tips on taking care of a hognose?
Hey, love your channel, I'd love to see a video of how you deal with molted tarantulas. My Grommostola Rosea just had her first molt a few weeks ago and isn't eating.
I recently got a baby ball python I left him for a weekend and then held him and in about 10 minutes he uncurled and was completely calm with me and I’ve been holding him daily and he doesn’t ever seem stressed
I was lucky and my sand boa I purchased as a yearling is so chill he doesn't care about when or even how I handle him.
That thumbnail tho ❤️❤️
Edit: Ty!
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I think you like bijuu Mike
윤가민 you are correct XD
Scrub Chan i like his videos too
My suggestion for videos would be just more updates on some of your snakes/other critters (Queenie, Barnaby, and Etna, etc.). Maybe even do a video on your thoughts on Kenyan sand boas now that you have one (do you think they make good beginner snakes, is yours eating well, handling well, etc.).
I have a question with Aerial does he have trouble Striking at the meal. I have feed mine 2time and everytime he had to go at it 2times. I have been trying to look over for answers cant find nothing really helpful. I was wondering if you would have a idea the person in the store said it was a banana postel but was not 100 percentsure . But as I'm going thow online I'm not to sure if they where right
Should you use feeding tongs if the mice are froze
You can do that if you like, I use them with frozen. But if your snake are not keep on attacking you can always just place it in the terrarium and it will usually eat it during the night. :-)
This was so helpful. My snake has been home 3 weeks now i fed her today. And my sister is in town and wanted to see her shee is only 4 months and i did just her her when i took her out she was ok but when she saw my sister she struck at her and started squeezing my fingers tight what should i do. She has never acted this way in the 3 weeks ive had her.
I just got my snake today! She’s 2 years old and a ball python. I had her in my lap in the car and I didn’t pay attention, she started rubbing her head on my hand until I pet her. 💞
My ball python nagini sometimes is a bit scared of me but after some time she gets very calm, and i never had a moment where she hissed or strike or tag me
I have a baby corn snake just like the one you have. She is very scared to be handled. I fear that by me trying to go in and grabbed her quickly that she will be even more scared because she does wiggle and squirm her way outs of the area as quickly as possible. How do I get her used to me? I have had her for a couple months now and I have not handled her because she is to quick and she will gets in a corner and do hermetical S shape while staring at me in a freaks me out so I don't want to have her feel my emotion nor do I want to cause her any more fear. My ball python at 1st rolled up and stayed in the ball but now she is very explorative. She's so Active and constantly cools outher head and neck and the 1st 7" of her body away from me and flicks her tongue as if she's exploring and is taking in all the different aromas and whatever snakes take in.
I have been going in the baby corns cage and just touching little things for a bit and then taking my hand out and repeat later on or the next day so she is used to my smell and my hand as not only the hand that feeds but the hand that isnt a threat. Now, going in quick to grab her and her being super fast and trying to get away makes me feel bad for her and I don't want to keep trying to grab her.
How do I get her better adjusted and able to be handled?
i got a corn snake around a month ago and i’m having the same problem, i handled him once to put him into a container to feed but he was trying everything he could to get away from me. since then i’ve just fed him in his viv but he still seems scared of me. if i go too close to the glass when he’s out he’ll go and hide or if i put my hand near him he buries himself. a bit lost of what to do as i don’t want to stress out or scare him
I just got my first snake which is a desert kingsnake. She is so pretty. I want to handle her. But it has only been about two full days in her enclosure so I am keeping hands off for now. Just trying to get her temps correct and changing her water out.
