Another great video. Perfect content. Great advice and so very true. I went out of my comfort zone from jump.. I'm a rip the band aid off quick kind of girl. Bought my 1st wig at a boutique on a Saturday and wore it to work Monday around 2000 coworkers. Talk about anxiety. I bought a wig and then went down the UA-cam rabbit hole. There wasnt as much wig content then as now. Even still, I feel like I should have an undergrad degree in everything wig related now. 😂 I did things backwards. I've been wearing wigs for 5 years now and it still causes me anxiety at times. It's a journey and it takes as long as it takes. Thank you, Frannie. This video will help so many people! ❤
Frannie, I love your videos. They are all so helpful. Informative, interesting, and detailed. Your friendly, helpful personality comes shining through. The videos that include your friends and family are fun too. Keep up the good work; we appreciate it!
This video is so informative for a first time wig wearer. I’m going to save this to pass along to my friends who are now curious about wigs after seeing mine.
You look absolutely stunning in that Delgona 16. Your 5 tips are excellent and I wish I had known about them 5 years ago when I started on this journey. But there you are 😂 My first wig was Ellen Wille Movie in Bernstein rooted. Since then my color preference has changed and I tend to favor Platinum Blonde Rooted or colors close to that. Your color charts have helped me a lot.
I bought my first wig in solidarity with a friend who had lost her hair to chemo and was self conscious about wearing wigs. My first wig was Cameron by Jon Renau in Shaded Praline. It could not have been more different than my natural hair which at the time was below shoulder length, salt and pepper and very curly (it's not anymore).I loved the way it looked on me even though I didn't follow your first tip: I ended up with "less" hair . I didn't continue wearing the wig after my friend passed away and it wasn't until my own hair started thinning that I thought to go back to wigs. But boy did I not know where to start and I wish that I had. I didn't even know about measuring my head. I wasted quite a bit of time and money on wigs until I finally settled on preferring heat friendly fibers, no longer than 18 inches, lace front, mono part and NO permatease. I also finally figured out the brand that best suited me in terms of fit and that's Belle Tress. My biggest problem with wigs now is that I want them all - and I really have too many.
OMG!!! Perfect timing Frannie. So excited that I have my free consult this week. You covered so many concerns I have and answered many questions! Thank you for all you do!
Excellent formation and advice Frannie. THANK YOU! Especially for wig newbies. Who often times think they’re alone right? So glad you told them about our awesome wig community and inviting them to your private wig group on FB. I’m not wig newbie and have been in many groups over the years and yours is very supportive and just as important monitored so it stays that way ..bravo 👏🏻👏🏻💁
Thank you! I am considering one for myself. I watched the measurement video and it has helped me when looking. Speaking of looking, I have seen those vague listings on the web and it did give me pause.
Thank you Frannie, as always great video. Dalgona 16 in brown sugar sweet cream., was my first purchase. I looked terrible so much hair for me. obviously i returned her. That was three years ago. I love dalgona 16, I have her in two colors.
Thank you so much for this informative video. I'm in Europe, so buying anything from the U.S. would be prohibitive with tariff tax, but I wish you great success with all you offer those in the states.
In my early wig wearing days I did get scammed and the wig I received was total junk which went into the trash. I learned a big lesson from that experience.
Your first wig was a brilliant choice, it's beautiful and really suits you, but I understand your uncertainty in wearing it because it's so different from your own hair. Thank for such an informative video Frannie
Frannie, great video for beginners!! This may be a silly question but exactly how do you measure the length of your face and neck? Do you go from your hairline to the side of your nose to the chin for the face? What points do you use for your neck measurement? From the front of your chin or under your chin to the collar bone or above the collarbone? The differences in the way you measure can be an inch or more. Thank you! 0:15
I measure my face from my hairline to my chin (keeping the tape measure next to my nose). For my neck, I keep my chin parallel to the floor and meaure from the top of my neck to my collarbone. Thank you for watching, Leeann!💕
Yup, yup, yup that was me…. Took several months! Too much hair! Kept sending them back immediately. I thought I was never going to find a wig that was thin enough and the color too. Finally many wigs later I’m at peace. I’ve found the right wig and color🤗
The biggest struggle I had in the beginning was color. I was given good advice to buy an inexpensive wig to see if I would wear it. It came from someone who bought an expensive human hair wig and didn’t wear it because it was too hot.
It depends. If you have very fragile hair, I wouldn't. Toppers need to clip into healthy hair. I started with a topper, but quickly switched to a wig. A topper can feel more natural at first as far as looks go, because you still have your bio hair showing. But I find them much less stable especially in windy or active conditions.
@@FranniesHair good to know! I’m learning. Slowly but surely. I know what i want-its now a matter of finding it all in one wig! Maybe i am to the point of having your specialist help /steer me to exactly what to order..

GREAT TIPS for new gals 🥰 Dalgona was also one of my first. It was the density that got me 🫣 My bio was ALWAYS fine and thin. Mom kept it in a pixie as long as she could, letting me grow it out around middle school age. Back then I loved it long. In the 80’s my big hair was a flop 🤦🏻♀ As I got older, I would go back to a pixie from him to time because it looked thicker. Truth was it just looked less “shaggy” 😏 I started wearing wigs about five months ago. To date, I own 17 wigs 🤷🏻♀ I never returned any of them them. About 12 will probably end up being donated. I have everything from pixie to long styles. I don’t like any of the short ones, at all 🥸About half of my collection are short. My most worn, 😍is Ellen Willie, Image Deluxe. She’s mostly hand tied, human hair & heat friendly blend. The ONLY thing I don’t love about her is the size of the hair shaft at the lace front seems too thick, easy to disguise with a little powder. The blend of fibers seem to tangle way LESS than my two that are tied for second place, Belle Tress Hand-tied Tea Leaf and Stella. OH! I forgot about my Rachael Welch, Mesmerized, love her too 🥰
Wow! I love reading about your journey. Interesting to hear about your favorite wig also. I do love my Envyhair Lisa...blend of HH and HF fibers. She also tangles less. Thank you so much for watching, Sandy!💕
