I absolutely love what you just showed Amanda...it brought back memories for me ( a wearer for 30 yrs) of the weird and wonderful says of wig wearing...My 1st wig after alopecia was streaky blonde..or so I thought !!! Went to dinner with my Dad who had grey hair ALL his life...when we paid the girl at the desk said Oh ok two senior meals !!!! ..argghh I was 38, Dad was 73 !!! Yep I made another trip to another wig seller...hours and hours in the shop trying on everything...poor new shop assistant too!! 30 years later wigs are fabulous but wearing them really is an art form..thankyou for a great giggle but very informative 😅❤😅
It is such fun to watch your videos and to realize almost belatedly how much I've learned in the process!! You just have such a gift for being relatable through your self deprecating humor and kindness!! I am so, so glad I found this channel and could finally stop feeling stupid for all the things I didn't yet know!! You've been a godsend to me, and for, I'm sure, many others like me who didn't speak the odd language of "wig"!!!! ❤
Just watched this video. Amanda, you crack me up. You’re so cute, funny and knowledgeable. I’ll watch your videos as a pick me up when feeling down. You make me feel happy again. This video was very helpful for me as a new wig wearer. Thank you.
I use a curling iron to add some curl or waves to the hair. It does make the style look natural. Sometimes I find good deals on extra long wigs, then I just give the wig a cut on my stand.
I love the 4 finger measurement for forehead placement! I once met a man whose hairline had receded pretty far, and he quipped that he "didn't have a four-head, he had a nine-head!" I've never forgotten the 4 finger width since! Thanks for being a great resource for newbs like me!
This wig and colour is totally fabulous on Amanda! I do wonder why these companies discontinue styles and colours……especially when in my opinion, they are terrific?
Hi Amanda I wish I can have a trip to US or UK to collect my favourite wigs as I am a sufferer of Alopecia Universalis from 2018 and gathered alot of Chinese wigs +two from Ellen wille which I got online from UK but unfortunately nothing worked as natural as ur ones though I tried multiple techniques, I learned from u tube time to time. I love watching ur videos and the way you teach us how to carry a wig. And try to apply those tips on myself.
Thank you for shari g ypur knowledge an that wig and colir look pretty on u .Can you please recommend where I can get a decent hair topper that is not super exspencive I'm on fixed income an I really need help . Take care😊
Do you think its possible to make a big company wig (RW, Jon Reneau, etc) look more realistic by plucking the front of the wig? I can't tell if all the tutorials work for synthetic wigs from these companies. I cannot tell if they are constructed so you can get a good effect by plucking.
How do I get the bouncy curved new look back into my wigs. Could you do a video on this showing how to add a little more shape into fibres that have that flat look?
Hi everyone, I got diagnosed with alopecia Arriata in 2021. I’m really struggling, I am so embarrassed and I can’t find a place of acceptance. I feel like it’s a big fundamental flaw. I’m still in the dating phase in life and I’m just so embarrassed and I dread having to have that conversation with a guy like “hey you can’t run your fingers through my hair “ I don’t know how to get over it or comes to a place of acceptance. I’m not a cute little young thing like Amanda! There’s so much stigma attached to women and hair loss. My wigs look pretty good. No one can tell but I can. I feel like an imposter. Any suggestions?

You are not an imposter! I remember a man saying he wants to take his 1st date swimming to see her w/o makeup... You have no control over having alopecia it's not your fault & "you" are not your hair❣️
I just bought the santa monica. I've never bought a wig before and actually don't need a wig for hair loss, just to look good on days when I have grey roots etc. so, I bought the head band as well, my hair is about the length of santa monica but a little longer so I can pull it back. what do you recommend I do with my hair before I put the wig on ? This video answered the question about the hair part ( zig zag ) but can I also move it slightly toward the canter ? also, the silicone scar tape that other's recommend, I'm wondering if I can get scar tape from CVS or does it have to be a different type ( I haven't even looked at CVS yet to see if they have this product). Thanks. Santa monica is beautiful so hope I can make it work!
I have bought so many hair pieces and wigs. And when they arrive they look like someone just chopped something up and through it together, they look nothing like what I supposedly purchased. So much money down the toilet I am getting thiner and thiner on the top of my head, it's embarrassing I don't know what to do

I’ve found that is true also. In my opinion, most of the wigs on UA-cam, have been customized. I think any wig we order will have to be altered to make it look acceptable. ( I’m on #5 now, and haven’t worn any in public).

Stop running your bare fingers through your wig. The natural oil on your fingers soils the strands of hair.
