    Frannie, I’m so happy that I came across your tutorial! I’ve been wearing wigs for about three years but I am always looking for helpful tips. I’m 77 years old and have very thin and fine hair. Wigs have been a blessing for me.

    Once again, I am delighted by your content. Your site is really one-stop shopping for tips, product and support.
    I love it that you adopt tips that were gleaned from wig wearers all over the world. The scar tape and the four-finger “rule” are excellent tips that others who came before you have passed on to both newbies and long-haulers. There is so much more content out there than when I started on my journey 6 plus years ago.
    We are all sisters here and this type of info needs to be shared. “Make it your own”. is a great motto, btw. Don’t we all want to look and feel like our best selves in whatever we wear and make the most of what we have?

    Hi Frannie, great tips! Another nice little tool to have in the toolbox is a chalk pen, like teachers used in the past to hold the chalk when they wrote on the blackboard. I use one all the time to make my part stand out more. If you have a fair complexion the white chalk works well to look like scalp and it is so easy to use. I keep it right in my makeup bag. It stays a little better than powder too and works very well on basic cap wigs to get down in that permatease and make it took like there's a part there.

    Thank you for this video. I have a box of wigs that need customization like you have done. As a 60+ woman who enjoys the versatility and affordability of today’s synthetic wigs I want to avoid the old-lady look of ill fitting wigs. One of the mayor problems is the fullness of wigs. We can no longer wear Farrah Fawcett fullness because we no longer have such a thick mane.

    Thank you I have a wig so similar though in a colour to match my own. I was about to box it and put it away as a lost cause coz it just looked fake! I thinned it out a little down lower part and flattened it with lots of brushing to make it look not so puffed up where the permatease was. The only thing I did a bit different to you was I sprinkled baby powder over it and fluffed it through and it dulled the overshiney look nicely. Thank you it’s one of my favourites now!

It will make you look like a vampire. The honey/carmel brown of the wig in this video is a flattering color.

      Thank you, Karen. The powder stays in unless you fiddle with your hair. I keep the powder in my purse for touch ups, but I rarely need to use it. As far as tucking with no bio hair, you can tuck the fibers behind your ear and pull a few front ones out. I've done that when I cut my hair really short. Thanks so much for watching!💕

I’ll write you an email about it. And you told me about a heating tool…..not the super expensive one. There was another one. She’s synthetic. I’ve only worn around my home. Been one heck of a year, Frannie. And I’m still here. 🤪

    Wow! I learned so much. I’ve been wearing wigs daily for 11 years. My bio hair is very thin. My go to wig is RW Sparkle in SS 14/88. I shake it;, spray the front with water and use my fingers to separate the fibers and spike up the front bangs and top. Today I see that I can pull out some of my own hair and use the colored powder to cover my gray like you did. I also liked the tip on powder for a part. One problem I often get which is annoying and embarrassing is my support band fails to stay in place and my wig slips back. What can I do?
    BTW I have wigs in my closet that I haven’t worn, because I think they look wiggy. Now With these tips, I can give them a second chance.
    Thank you, Frankie

    • @FranniesHair
      @FranniesHair  Місяць тому

      I'm so glad you found the video helpful! When you say 'support band', I imagine you're referring to your wig grip. A few questions: Does your wig grip have a silicon strip? Do you have a pronounced occipital bone, or is the back of your head flatter? A silicone strip can help the grip stay on better. Still if your occipital bone is not pronounced, you may have more of an issue. In that case, I'd recommend trying something like 'It Stays' (a non-toxic water soluble glue...it's easy to remove) at the hairline and nape. I've used that with no wig grip. If you sweat a lot or have oily skin, the It Stays may lose it's stickiness since it's water soluble. There are other glues or tapes that will adhere in more humid or oily conditions. I have a video about the wig grip I use: ua-cam.com/video/Bc_LpTS1tU8/v-deo.html
      I hope this helps. If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask.💕

    Looks fantastic on you.
    I have a question. I purchased a las Angeles by Bell tress. On a liquidation sell. An affiliate was clearing her 24’s out. Anyway I loved the way it laid and flirty waves. The wig is straight as a board. I washed her she is smooth but still straight. Should I use a wand , or a curling iron to try putting them in? Now I can’t wear her😢

    • @FranniesHair
      @FranniesHair  20 днів тому

      I'm surprised that she straightened out. All BT wigs are heat friendly synthetic and should return to their style after washing. If you are sure that the wig is BT and is heat friendly, you can use a wand or curling iron to restore the curls. Make sure to follow the heat guidelines of the manufacturer..

    The barrels on the 3 in 1 Styler look rather large.. how well would this work on say hair that is only about 2.5" to 3.5" long. Ie pixie wigs? V

    • @FranniesHair
      @FranniesHair  Місяць тому +2

      Great question! In the video I did with the Envy educators, they did work on a pixie. They used the curling iron and it gave it more of a spiky look… Not really curly.

      Since the attachments are interchangeable it would be nice if Envy made a smaller one for shorter hair. I think it was mentioned in the other video; hope Envy listened. Really need a smaller attachment.

    I happened upon your wig video & its great. My big hangup with wigs is the shine! Too much shine looks like a cheap wig to me.

    • @FranniesHair
      @FranniesHair  29 днів тому +1

      That can be an issue. Have you tried dry shampoo and cold soaks? This can lessen the shine, and over time, the shine will naturally lessen with wear. Thank you so much for watching!💕

    Is wearing a wig this way a long process? I’m thinking of doing this but I’m afraid it’ll take very long to do. My hair is thinning on top.

    • @FranniesHair
      @FranniesHair  21 день тому +1

      Not at all. I took my time to explain during the video, but I literally have my wig on and done in minutes. If I use heat, it may take a few more minutes. Rarely does my wig take more than 5-7 minutes to get it the way I like it. And if it's one of my throw on and go wigs...then about 2 minutes...even if I add the part with powder. Thank you so much for watching!💕

    We are fearfully and wonderfully made(Psalm 139:14). Our body is the temple of God. God does not want us to use wigs or attachments. (1 Corinthians 3: 16-17)God wants us to embrace and preserve our beautiful natural hair .

    I don't have a tip but I have a question. How can I get the shine out of my synthetic wigs. That is what makes them look so unnatural. Using dry shampoo doesn't make a difference, yet that is what everyone recommends. I see yours is shiny but your natural hair isn't, just like all our natural hair. I hope you have a solution.

    • @FranniesHair
      @FranniesHair  26 днів тому

      Some women also use cold soaks and powder. I think powder probably works the best, but you may need to wash your wig more often. Also, if you like less shine, you may like a heat friendly wig better.💕

  • @1010divajap
    @1010divajap Місяць тому

    I'm guessing that you'd have to be careful to put the wig back exactly and precisely the way it was at the end because otherwise aren't you going to lose the part you work so hard to make?

    • @FranniesHair
      @FranniesHair  29 днів тому
