I could not agree with you more Nancy Walter!! I just started watching his videos, what an exceptional human being! Simply amazing, very special! Thank you Steve for spreading all of the kindness you share...and by being you! I’m a FAN! God Bless you! 👍❤️
Oh, Steve these are emotional stories! I love so much the work you do! You are a very special kind of soul a beautiful person, drawn to other beautiful and amazing people that inspire us. This 'class' about courage brought me tears of joy, especially the 89 year old determination to learn to read, and the courage to do it. I bawled my eyes out, because we need more courageous and beautiful people like you and those presented in this class. Thank you for all you do. You are an American hero to us. God bless you.
Your son has your same great eyes Mr. Hartman and I hope one day he continues your heartwarming stories which I never miss and watch many times. Happy Chanukah and Merry Christmas - and Festivus for the rest of us ♥
Steve Hartman: For years I've watched you travel across the country reporting on powerful stories of hard work, determination, hope and love. Thank you for the beautiful reporting, it has helped me tremendously. Meryl and your son are beautiful, thanks for sharing their little faces with the viewing audience.
"Don't be afraid to be afraid". Think about how much better we would be as people if we lived by this motto. Great episode, Steve. And your kids are doing an amazing job. Thank you!
I can always count on Steve Hartman to bring some goodness in the world when we have so much negative news every single day. Steve you are the beacon of light in the darkness of negativity. God Bless
Steve this is the best show, EVER Ienjoy all the "feel goods". It's what we need to dig into & hear about, especially now. You & your kids have my utmost respect and love.
I didn't know my papa couldn't read until after he had passed. My grandma always read cards on his birthday, anniversary and Xmas. If I had known I would have taught him.
I have always loved this guy! He connects so well with people and his stories are always heartwarming and inspiring. And he is great with his kids. This could very easily be the next Mr. Rogers. Who wouldn't want Phil Hartman as a neighbor, after all. One more thing. The last story meant a lot to me. Ever since before I graduated from high school, I wanted to get a college degree. Hard to do with a 1.9 GPA upon graduation. At 40 years of age my wife went out on me behind my back. Nearly 15 years of marriage had been a valiant struggle for me with someone who criticized and belittled me (Don't ask me why we were married in the first place. This is already to long.). I divorced her. Once the dust settled and I got over the pain I was like a kid with a new quarter. What do you do with your life when you start over? You GO TO COLLEGE. I began with community college with high school level classes. Before long, with mostly A's and B's I was on the President's list. I remarried (After over 20 years I am very happy.). That and other circumstances compelled me to go online to pursue my Bachelor's with an accredited institution. I acquired a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. I was on the Dean's list with a GPA of between 3.5 and 4.0! I went on to pursue a Master's in professional counseling. I finished all of my classroom studies with a high GPA again, and was again on the Dean's list. My pursuit of a practicum (an unpaid internship) has been stalled by Corona. I have not done much with my Bachelor,s and my Master's is unfinished. But I have done something, for me, that is remarkable! Online study is hard work with its own challenges, but I overcame them and went from thinking I was stupid with a 1.9 GPA in high school (I had to raise an incomplete in Typing to an F to do that.) to a college 3.75. I am 66 and am so satisfied with what I have achieved and with what my college accomplishments say about me. I started late in life, I went outside my comfort zone, and I succeeded. I am so happy with that. If you actually read this far... WOW.
"if I couldn't handle not being good at something, how could I consider myself a successful person", this kid is going places because he's not afraid of hard work. His parents deserve recognition for fostering that kind of thinking.
As I was scrolling down reading the replies I was thinking exactly the same thing, this Guy reminds me of Mr. Rogers. Thank you Steve and your beautiful family
Excellent series. Your set is perfect for these life’s lessons. And your support staff couldn’t be more helpful. Thank you, Merrill (Vanna White), Emit and George for a job well-done.
What a beautiful episode! I loved all the stories featured in this episode but the last touched my heart because I love and enjoy reading! Great job, sir!
I have been watching your posts all morning - most of which I have seen already - at least once. You have the most wonderful job ever. What you do is inspiring. Makes me think about what I could be doing in my retirement to be more valuable to those around me. Thank you so very much!
I never though id wanna watch something motivational till i saw thins and you guys inspire me to push myself and learn from my mistakes. Your kids are so lucky to have their dad in there life that treats and teaches them everything.
I'm going to be 32yo soon and my dad is just as wise but jeeze. I wouldn't mind having Steve as uncle or something. One of the greatest humans ever. Mr Rogers territory
This is an amazing piece! Thank you so much to everyone who put this together and made it happen. Everyone. It's two years old but still relevant and there are many things to think about here. Wonderful for this old grump to hear. We need to see other people trying. It got a little better after Covid. I think people are more grateful for things now, and they are kinder and more patient, but we still need proof that its worth it to be kind. In all the ways that you can be kind. And the proof for me that its worth it is seeing other people do these things. This is so great it should go viral.
My second class, I just found you @3:16 am. In 55& I’m enjoying these. I’m going to do my version of 10 thinks to be grateful for. My puyying 10 pebbles in lil zip lock nags that I’m going to paint lil hearts on. Then share these with strangers as I go about my days, with the explanation that you shared.
I went to a 2 year college in my 50s and made the Dean's list and national honor society. Got associates degree, despite having to learn 5 now obsolete computer programs. It taught me you can do anything if you try!
Thank god that kid really does get it. An American math major or even a primary english speaking math major looking to teach is in very short supply and high demand. Good for him and I hope that kid the best.
Get one of those balance or no pedal bikes. You learn balance , minimize falling. Be courageous and smart. P.S. In England there's a beer brand John Courage beer . In the 70's there were billboards all over saying " take Courage" in big letters. I was a tourist there and at first just thought it just English positive affirmation
Nice to see an adult behaving like an adult. Teaching children is one of the biggest parental failures. They are not adults. "Teach your children well" isn't just a song.
Gerald is an inspiration!!! What a young man, and definitely a successful person 👏🏽 🙌
Steve your kids are so lucky to have you as a dad...
The BEST, MOST RESPECTFUL, POSITIVE THING ON TV. KEEP IT UP STEVE.
I could not agree with you more Nancy Walter!! I just started watching his videos, what an exceptional human being! Simply amazing, very special! Thank you Steve for spreading all of the kindness you share...and by being you! I’m a FAN! God Bless you! 👍❤️

"Don't be afraid to be afraid". Think about how much better we would be as people if we lived by this motto. Great episode, Steve. And your kids are doing an amazing job. Thank you!
Gerald's quote was everything!!!! That did need to be stated again. Wow I love it!
His daughter is adorable and a natural. We know who’ll take his place when he retires😉. His son, fantastic producer! Loved this episode!
I can always count on Steve Hartman to bring some goodness in the world when we have so much negative news every single day. Steve you are the beacon of light in the darkness of negativity. God Bless
What a wonderful life lesson and role model of what every parent can be doing right now. No matter what you're doing at home, involve your kids
it's so much fun to see this Kindness101 series. Even an old man like me can learn something
Yes, for sure. I'm 73 and love watching this series. Ed Bray proves no one is too old to watch these stories.
Hey, I saw you at the Fillmore in '69.
Your son is doing a great job!!!
He needs to give his son more attention!

I have a Furry Hedgehog, like the 1 "On the road program". My childhood nickname was Hedgy & still is in my family to this very day.
Trying to become a Beekeeper, I am in my 12th year and still learning and teaching beginners. It's a lot harder than people think.
Precious
CBS Evening News said, they know me through Arc.
I'd like to view a new episode of "On the Road" soon.
There was one last Friday.
Thank god that kid really does get it. An American math major or even a primary english speaking math major looking to teach is in very short supply and high demand. Good for him and I hope that kid the best.
Meryl and emmet thank you 🙏
Meryl is so sweet!
Love these videos. I have used the On the Road stories in my classroom. The students love these stories as much as I do. Thank you, Steve Hartman.
