As far as I’m concerned this is the best part of television!I worked for 35 years at the NBC and then the CBS affiliate in Boston and Friday was the best day of the week because of Steve and On The Road.👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Years ago, Hartman did a series called "Everybody Has a Story". He would randomly throw a dart at a map of the U.S., go to that location and pick someone out of a phonebook and do a story about them. I've been a fan of Mr. Hartman ever since.
The story about the man and the tree he cared for being used to fashion his casket was just such a beautiful and fitting tribute to those two national treasures.
OK. I just started watching this episode and Steve is channeling Mr. Rogers. 😊 Now I know why he is so loved. CBS needs to keep Steve around as long as he wants.
Oh Steve as usual you have done it again!! Every single story a heart string tugger! The little girl playing in the snow her grandpa brought her, the 600 year old tree, even Steven weeding his 4 1/2 acres and your sons enjoying the eclipse. BTW your home is beautiful and your lovely wife so sweet! Always enjoy time spent with your show! It’s the best and when I need to cheer up I watch Steve!!
Hello Steve, i was 44 when i went back to college i needed one class to graduate & it was economics! Well it was the best class i ever had, i learned & i knew it all while in the classroom but forgot about when not in the classroom, i aced the class & graduated.
I use to spend so much time and energy keeping up my orange and avocado trees for years, not to mention the amount of water ,one year my husband got sick for quite a while,I couldn't take care of the trees anymore after 20season and no human bothering them they flourished and the fruits are in abundance and so delicious. Just like Steve's prairie at the end.
I just watched this. I complain loudly about the heat. But I jump for joy over snow and even the cold 🥶. Not all of complain with each season. I can't take enough off in the heat but I can add in the winter
My dealer is Menards. Lol. My husband calls me the crazy plant lady. It feels good to be outside with dirty hands and knees. Nobody complains about too many flowers.
In my honest and humble opinion, Steve Hartman is overdue for the title of ‘most trusted face and voice of television.’ This is a man I could be friends with for life. And you know that within that kind exterior, also lies a guy who’ll call you on your BS too. In a kind way of course. 😊
Hey CBS, thanks for kinda listening. 20mins isnt a show. Steve deserves respect. He deserves a full weekly show. Not the end of a broadcast but the whole cast. I will never stop mentioning how ignorant you are CBS until then. You have a prophet that you waste. Shameful.

My too.
I’ve been a writer for more than 35 years, but I bow my head to America’s master story teller.

Steve Hartman reminds me of a younger version of Mr Rogers. Both pure souls.👍🏼👍🏼🥰
I have never been to this town, but I had a tear in my eye for the 600 year old tree. So glad to hear about the acorn sprouting!
The story about the man and the tree he cared for being used to fashion his casket was just such a beautiful and fitting tribute to those two national treasures.
There wasn't one of those stories I couldn't relate to. Thanks Steve

There is usually some point during these On The Road broadcasts where I can’t help the tears that come, and Herbie and his casket did it for me.

That planetarium is breathtaking. That is supremely steampunk-ish. I love it.
He make life less complicated
My dealer is Menards. Lol. My husband calls me the crazy plant lady. It feels good to be outside with dirty hands and knees. Nobody complains about too many flowers.
Wow, what a great show! Love it!! Thank-you. Is this a regular show? Will have to look for it!
I love your segment with your kids, and I still think about the one with your Dad .
Steve your weeding project is very inspiring. Many blessings to you and yours. PS Mugwort is medicinal. Dry it and give to healers.
I grew up in Yarmouth Maine and I remember that "Herbie" tree very well.
Thank you for a 2024 refresh
John’s Island S.C. has the oldest living live oak east of the Mississippi, goggle for some fantastic shots!
I'm so impressed with the Kovac Planetarium. I'm moving to Wisconsin in spring and definitely will visit.
Nothing last for ever but Jesus ☀️
Herbie and the astronomer. I’m headed to WI.
Earth Day. W/Steve Hartman
YOU are a great DAD'
My son lives in Monico. We’ll have to check it out next summer when we’re up there!

You can eat certain wild greens!!! A lot of cultures cook them!!
It's no coincidence that the moon and sun appear the same size from our vantage point. It was deliberately created that way.
They could use the wood and make a beautiful bench to sit there....
George is my kind of people. ❤
Loved it
