    I am 40 and just got accepted into Nursing school 3 weeks ago. My gratitude and thankfulness soon turned into tears this past weekend.. thinking what have I gotten myself into? This segment was RIGHT ON TIME. I am now crying Happy tears this time around, knowing that I AM NOT ALONE and that I CAN DO THIS!
    Thank you 🙏🏾 I am saving and watching this video weekly as a reminder.
    From my heart to yours, Hartman Family. Look for another post from me within 2 years telling you of my graduation 🎓

    I started college at 19, and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree at 40. I worked full-time and went to school when I could afford it. Finishing was always my goal. I never regret it. I'll always keep trying.

      Similar experience here, and I don't regret a minute of the time it took. I started at nearly 30, with children, and I was fortunate to live in California when the cost of community colleges was unbelievably low. I earned a bachelor's at 43 and a masters at 47. The cost was much higher in in my 40's and I cleaned houses to manage my time for classes and have the money. Education is something no one can take away.

      It’s stories like yours and shows like this that gives me hope. I was planing on starting school in 2018, I fell ill and was hospitalized for 3 months. I had to learn to walk again, still not able to sit and stand w/o my hands. Two years later I’m back at it again. I’m in my mid 40’s it’s never too late to work towards your goals.

    I cannot wait to see how Steve’s children grow up to be. I like how Steve says, “stay kind.” Not ‘be kind’ which implies that we haven’t been doing that, but stay kind, which implies that we are already kind.

    Steve Hartman, I am 79 years young and know an amazing human being when I see one. You are amazing in that you give the word human...in human being it’s true and absolute meaning. And your two kiddies are the absolute cat’s meow. Please, even when this particular series has ended (soon, sigh) please, I so request...bring us all another avenue of your sweet teachings to brighten our lives.

      One suggestion is how the Redwood trees survive thousands of years by their roots. The roots join other Redwood roots and are stronger together. Redwoods also have tree barks that are able to endure fires. Also the beauty of symmetry in nature. just so many ways nature adapts to their surrounds to survive.

    IQ has little to do with passing a driving test. My IQ is 123 and it took me 7 times before I passed. My first attempt was in 1977 at the age of 17. My final successful attempt was in 2006 at the age of 46. My father had an IQ of 96 and passed on his first attempt at the age of 15 and those were the days when you had to take your test on a manual transmission and I still can't drive one of those.

    Stories like this are not helpful, most of the time someone who is disabled no matter how much fortitude you expect them to find will not change the fact that the person is disabled and I hate to burst this self indulged story telling happy thought but most of the time these situations wind up in extreme levels of harassment which can include threats and putting the disabled person in situations that are dangerous not only for the disabled person but for others in and around whatever task is being demanded to be done. So don't push this story off as some kind of happy experience because it is not.

      @hughmacdonald3595 you remind me of my son. He's a year older than you. I made plenty of mistakes as a mother, but the extent of his negativity and anger- with me and the world in general... I do not understand. I did the best I could at the time and I have continued to love him unconditionally and I always will.
      Steve Hartman gives gold every time. I do not feel as if his children/ family are being exploited at all and I would be willing to bet that 20 years from now, as full grown adults, his children would be in agreement. That is not always the case, but as a mature and open minded adult of 50, I am suggesting that you are wrong, and as such, you are missing out on something beautiful.
      Wishing you only the best in life ❤

    • @hughmacdonald3595
      @hughmacdonald3595 Рік тому

      @@ainokc I am 19 y.o. It's not journalism when you feature your children or parent on national TV over and over and over. It's narcissism. As bad as watching someone's vacation videos on their phones. Mr. Hartman should stick to stories that do NOT involve family members; I agree: those are usually gold! I wish you luck and peace.

    • @ainokc
      @ainokc Рік тому

      @@hughmacdonald3595 Thank you for the kind explanation. I do see situations that are clearly exploitation, and others who involve their children only in the most respectful ways. For some reason Steve Hartman falls into the latter for me. That said, I'm still working on my ability to identify narcissism. I'm always aware that I don't like the person, but not incredibly fast to identify the reason (they are narcissistic). I have failed to see his narcissim- he appears to be incredibly genuine to me however I do not know him irl, and beyond that, I've been fooled before.
      Regardless of how I feel, I genuinely respect your assessment and especially your feelings. And I appreciate the tone of your reply.
      It just occurred to me that that most folks who have sought the spotlight are likely some degree narcissistic. Some more toxic than others.
