I mean you can't really blame them for grinding like this.. it is soo long to grind a plane/jet. But I will say this, if you expect someone to come in with a bomber and you're expecting them to dogfight.. your going into sim with the wrong mind set.
What I blame those players for: - Thinking SIM mode is their personal playground aka "PVE! Why you shoot me, I *personally* declared this lobby PVE how DARE you *insert Greta meme*" - Going the easiest route possible instead of investing time to learn how to fight in a fighter - Instantly leaving after getting shot once - Making it almost impossible to win a game as the team that does not have the US on their side - Destroying SIM since about 2018, when the kids discovered it. Before we were left alone mostly, duking it out in 109s and Spits over the Channel and Sabres and Migs over Korea. The gameplay has changed dramatically since then, it comes down to: Shoot zombers quick enough to hopefully make them leave before they end the game - not because of skill, but because of spacebar-pressing. - Destroying the SIM economy. Rewards got nerfed dramatically over the years in SIM, more than in any other mode, while repair cost increased. We've had everything. From Phantoms suiciding into airfields, literally scripted bot accounts bombing everything in sight, "players" J-ing out close to their friend in a plane of the opposite team to farm kills and much more. People are a$$holes, and sim, due to its relatively open character in terms of what you can do, and due to the match length, attracted the "bottom of the barrel" type of people more than any other mode. Yes, Gaijin is a greedy company that does not really care about players - but that does not excuse behaving like the last human on earth. For me, games like this represent society to some degree and it showed me that if people are given the possibility to be a$$holes, they will be. Not all of them, but a lot. - Causing the "Old Guard" to leave and/or transition to other games. Toast and me are basically the only ones left from the 2013/14 era in sim. Part of this is Gaijin's fault, but the current sim players are also to blame. And then there's also this argument that I read all the time: "Oohh but the grind is so hard I have no choice!" Yeah. No. The grind is hard for all of us, its literally the same for everyone. Yet magically, somehow, we are able to research our way through the trees without being a d1ck. This argument is like saying "Oh my boss doesnt pay me enough so I have to break into your house and make your life worse". Its an excuse for bad behavior that I can't tolerate. Quote, you:*"if you expect someone to come in with a bomber and you're expecting them to dogfight.. your going into sim with the wrong mind set."* *The wrong mindset is coming to a sim match without having a fighter in the lineup. If you get shot in a bomber you go in the fighter and try to shoot down the ones who tried to shoot you down before, that is how it fkn works. If you are unable to fight back although you've reached jet BRs already, ask yourself why that is.* So .. I just do my part. Writing long winded posts like this in hopes of reaching someone's reason/brain cells and .. shooting zombers in a non-US team. Why? Because in general, I like the game, and playing since such a long time emotionally attaches you to it, whether you want it or not. I care about it. I'd love to have the old times back, the niche mode in a niche game, with a small but friendly community where we talked about climb rates, flight models and teamplay. We've had 1/4 the size back then, but 400% more fun.
Personally I’m going to go for whatever base I want. In my opinion, one of the most toxic parts of sim is people thinking they have dead rights to a base when they click on them. I was just in a lobby where they were trying to mass report someone for ‘stealing a base’. Anyway, great videos!
Tbh, I've been struggling with the A-10 lately in sim. I just recently have decided to platinum it and am a regular F-16 CAS guy (hell I even play F-4E CAS) but keep getting shot down in the A-10 from those AAA units.... NOT ONCE have I ever been smart enough to think "the ones that aren't shooting yet are probably the AAA". Your vid just saved me a bunch of headache😂
Tbh, the base AA was kinda a skill filter in sim. They are very deadly if you just rush straight into the base but if you go in very low, like tree top level or dive down from above 4km they can't touch you at all. It may not be very high skill ceiling but atleast it was something.
Hi Toastman can you tell me what your joystick settings are? Because with me every airplane is the purest wobble no matter what I set in the options. In DCS everything is great I can fly very stable but in War thunder it doesn't work like that...
Little bit late to this vid, and it's been a while since I watched one of yours, but I agree with your point on base bombing specifically being too rewarding. I used the Su-25K and Su-39 in Sim to grind out almost two thirds of the USSR's tree, all the way to top tier, and it only took medelighta week. I'm sure with actual tech tree vehicles it would have been significantly longer, but even in the Su-25 and Su-25BM, I was making ridiculously large sums of SL. RP was pretty meh, but it was still very much worthwhile imo
I will also add in that I did absolutely no life it for that week, as I was sick and tired of being the only one of my friends that didn't have top tier yet.
The A10A Early and Late should both have access to AGM65A+B+D+Gs, GBU8s, etc and not just one, the other, or none. . . Lmao Combining AGM65Bs and AGM65Ds in any combo on your 6x rails would be rather epic since you'd get the longer zoom of the 65B for like 5 shots but flir of the 65D for targeting and the last shot. . . That or they could just increase the zoom+resolution of 65Ds and the world would be a more realistic place lmfao 😂

Same man , i dont care haha. I drop my bombs on everything😅
It was a hard stock grind… convoys just shred you when you have gun only - I just used it for Air-2-Air with the 2 Aim9Ls at the start

No problem, thanks for watching :)
Lovely vid toast, some nice groundstriking the only thing you can do in sim rn, cheers.
Thanks for watching :)

Hey Toastman! Keep the videos going man! I’m always excited to see a new sim video from you!
Thanks! Will do!
Me taking my good ol p47 out and getting clapped by some meninngeshotß: what you mean is all bombers
Tbf the grind takes soooo long.
But then it comes down to your friendly fighters doing their job protecting bases
Never had this problem use the crusader drop 4 1000 then dogfight till out of gas or shot down
I agree that bombing is not really fun, but shoting tanks with the GAU is quite relaxing.
Agreed. :)
The maverick on the A10 is IR whereas the others are TV
Roger
Turning on Anti-Aliasing will get rid of those sharp and bridge edges on the text and cockpit. I recommend HQ FXAA and SSAA at 4X
Thanks but I don't like Anti-Aliasing :)
@@CptToastman Why? It's a handicap
If ur I'm a cas jet like the a10 doing ur main role amazing if ur a fighter or multi role do ur job a10 gets ground f4 gets air
well f4 is a fighter bomber wat i do is just run over hit a base with my rockets and then camp my bases and get a bunch of free kills

Hi, I have a vid here ua-cam.com/video/yxlJdJLZb_E/v-deo.html but the jets in the game are really bad unless you use dampnig mode.
Do you have a keyboard to trim your plane?
never been so early good way to end the night for work tmmr!
Thank you very much. :)
