    UPDATE:1 year and still cranks within the first 2-3 pulls. Probably will buy another when this one finally does bite the dust ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx43QMbQqu67IZadu9ou8Sg1BdrunMRNqX . No issues at all. Very happy with it.UPDATE: After 6 months of use and over 70 uses I would still highly recommend this pressure washer. It does vibrate a decent amount but never had it “walk” like others have mentioned. No oil leaks, still seems to run like the day I bought it. Still cranks within 2-3 pulls every time. Very happy with my purchase!Have used it about a dozen times now. Plenty of power, cranks up on 1-2 pulls every time. My only complaint would be I wish it was a little taller to make it easier to walk with it (hits my ankles a lot) and that the two hose connections were a little further apart but it hasn’t caused me any issues. Seems to run a good 1-1/2-2 hrs on a full tank, overall a well built machine and definitely worth the money in my opinion.

    Good review, but on the flatter panels such as the roof/bonnet etc where gravity doesn't affect as much, the karcher foam lance is actually the better of the 2. The idea of snow foam isn't to create a thick foam that sticks to your panels, the idea is to LIFT dirt and let it fall with gravity without using pressure to move it along the surface of your paint minimising the risk of scratching the paint.
    The karcher foam gun does this better as you can see in your video that the foam falls quicker. You could perhaps get the same results with the thicker foamer by diluting 1:10 ratio instead maybe which would be even more beneficial and you'd save more product in the long run? Would you be willing to do a retest on that?

      Watch a pro like white details he uses pro stuff and he doesn’t need foam that thick as long as it clings to the car and softens the heavy dirt to be removed by rinsing that’s all you want, if you what your car to look like or covered in cream That’s just for your amusement, must use a lot of product

    • @MauroC74
      @MauroC74 2 роки тому +1

      @@TheJbsportstech I agree too... and it also depends on product... if you have organic dirt like insects or birds "gifts", the foam should dissolve this kind of dirt and it takes a minute or so... not too creamy and not too watery... it looks like the Kercher nozzle is ok for that because the foam leaves a film while falling to the ground... I use a manual foam gun Kwazar Venus and prewash shampoo ratio is 1:20, product bottle is 1 liter and it's quite expensive because it's top of the line so this is another reason to stick to the recommendations... and, btw, if you use too much product i'm not even sure you get the same results as using the recommended quantity because the foam stays in place...

  • @patrickroos739
    @patrickroos739 6 років тому +12

    You can get much thicker foam with the Kärcher...depending on how much product You use. Big difference is that the better one can do as thick (or thicker) with less product. I used my Kärcher for a year and then also bought a much better one.Thanks for the vid!

    The surface area of the car is the same. Unless the dirt is an inch thick why does it need need thick foam to soak? The detergent clings to the dirt long enough to break it down before you blast it off. More air/foam doesn't mean better penetration of dirt! It just looks pretty

    • @TheMidnightTerrors
      @TheMidnightTerrors 5 років тому +2

      Snow foam works by creating a thick, clingy foam that sticks to the surface of your car. The thick foam increases the amount of time that the cleaning agents inside the snow foam are in contact with the dirt on the car’s surface. This is what’s known as contact time. Because of this increased contact time compared to regular soap and water, snow foam is better at breaking down dirt and lifting it off the surface of your car, which in turn makes your regular car wash much more effective.

    • @hog_hedge
      @hog_hedge 5 років тому +2

      @@TheMidnightTerrors The market has moved on from thick and clingy and useless foams. Try out Bilt Hamber Auto Foam and you will see what I mean. It's a thin foam that has a short "dwell" time but packs a massive cleaning punch.
      The foam in the video has little to no cleaning power (I should know as I've used it many times) and it just sits around on your driveway for days.

    From the looks of things, the Karcher one wasn't set to full foam by the dial on the top. I own one and purchased another one more like the "heavy duty" one in this comparison but I can't get the heavy duty one to foam thickly no matter what I try. I have tried every adjustment, and it just burned through far more product with barely any foam. The Karcher has been nothing but consistent.

  • @Vortigon
    @Vortigon 7 років тому +42

    I reckon the cheap one will actually clean the car better - since more air does not mean cleaner car - a slightly thinner consistency of spray will actually help the detergent active better on dirt - so yeah more expensive looks nicer but probably not as good at actually achieving task of getting dirt off car.

    • @sparkyUK
      @sparkyUK 6 років тому +8

      The foam needs time to work - to lift the dirt off the car and encase it in the foam, before it slides off the car. If it's too runny/wet, the foam doesn't have time to work effectively, and drops off the car without taking the dirt with it. They don't need to be more expensive, they just need to allow more air into the mix when spraying, and the Karcher isn't great at that.

      I find that when I wash the car it needs agitation too. a brand new car with new wax and all might be find with just foam. but my car seems to need agitation. another example is those laser washes where its just high pressure jets of soapy water. it still leaves dirt behind. but the wash with the spinning brushes does the job. but can also leave scratches on your paint.

    • @Xbox-kw4ql
      @Xbox-kw4ql 6 років тому +4

      you are supposed to spray on the foam let it run off then spray it off and use a bucket with car shampoo as another step
      snow foam is for scratch prevention to make sure grit and dirt is off the vehicle and that you dont rub it in

    • @taoh3473
      @taoh3473 5 років тому +1

      Sparky UK dickhead, foam is about prewash, it doesn't clean your car effectively, it's a 2 step washing
      If you think the more thick foam you get, and rinse it all, and all job done, you're just a poor detailer lol

  • @fatwalletboy2
    @fatwalletboy2 6 років тому +1

    Many buyers of a karcher home kit get the snow foamer included anyways so youre not paying for it as such. If youre snow foaming every week then it might be worth upgrading but if you only foam up once a month or so the karcher does a fair job.

  • @collaredgreens1600

    The longer it stays up on on the vertical surfaces, the better! (doors, glass, bumpers, etc.) So for that reason yes, "foam thickness" is important but you don't have to go over the same spots 5 times since the only part of the foam doing any work is the part that touches the paint so "layer thickness" is irrelevant and a waste of time and product. Great video! Big different between the two! :)

    Try pouring your foam into the bottle without diluting. The whole point of the gun is the water mixes with the foam as it comes out of the gun, so why mix even more water first? It will just make it less foamy because theres too much water.

    I bought a proper solid foam gun, but the plastic bottle supplied just split whilst using. So the lance attachment was fine, but bottle could have been more solid tbh. I went out to asda and bought a 79p garden sprayer from asda. Took the spray head off and replaced the broken one with this cheap asda bottle. Its more solid and has never broke since. 😀👍

    Kool, Thanks for the heads up. They have these on Amazon for $19.99 All solid brass construction. They are all made the same way, from $16.99-$119.99 only difference is Name Brand. I have read most reviews of those that give it a low rating 1-3 Stars.,
    They all say the same thing. Some don't work to good, some don't work right out of the box, Some don't last after one use, Bootle breaks in the neck area etc.,
    This all happens wether you pay for a low or a high priced one. These Foam Connons need Maintenance and need to be Taken apart at times, to clear some blockage or clean parts all together. It is fairly easy to do.,
    So don't be fooled by the name brands, all of these parts are the same. Most made in china, some made in germany, also germany don't make things the way they used to either, they get their parts from China as well. So don't get caught up by that made in Germany Bull.
    Thanks for the video 👍

      @@harisyoung4110 Same here, Still using my 4 year old one and works just as good. They are all the same and do the same function as long as they are brass they won't be breaking down that easy..
      To many people think if they pay more it's better or if they use a name brand it better and they will help resolve an issue, when most of these name brands only care about capitalizing on their name brand and nothing more.
      Stop over paying for name brand things made in the same factory as the no frills branded item. 🤦🏼‍♂️

    Hallo,
    Ik vroeg me af van die 'heavy duty' variant waarvan het gemaakt is? Metname de pot, is dat plastic?

    • @DetailingTime
      @DetailingTime  5 років тому

      Deze is van hard plastic, maar jammer genoeg is deze al kapot.

    • @Speelfluit
      @Speelfluit 5 років тому

      Hoe komt dat?

    • @DetailingTime
      @DetailingTime  5 років тому

      Foam gun is omgevallen waardoor de nek van de fles is afgebroken. Jammer want het is een zeer makkelijke fles waar maten opstaan.
      Heb er dus gewoon een andere onder gedraaid nu

    • @Speelfluit
      @Speelfluit 5 років тому +1

      Ah ok, ik overweeg deze te bestellen maar wil graag iets wat wel beetje kwaliteit is en goede schuim maakt :) Hoelang gebruik je hem nu? Raad je hem aan of af?

    • @DetailingTime
      @DetailingTime  5 років тому

      @@Speelfluit gebruik hem nu 3 jaar en heb er nog geen problemen mee gehad buiten dat de fles gebroken is... maakt heel mooi en dik foam. Dus kan hem zeker aanraden...

    From experience I personally would not buy anything from Karcher any more. As for the K series washers they end up costing you money as i have found having owned 2 cheaply made crap, such a shame compared to their older stuff.

  • @shhs1791

    I screwed up .. I bought a Kärcher FJ6 ..
    Nonsense product when it comes to foam!
    I later realized that Kärcher was selling it as a foamer but in fact it’s just a gun for scattering soap!
    IF you want foam you have to buy a foamer! The gun that is intended for that, that is. mix air with soap and water!

    I'm kind of fiddling with the steel mesh filter. I'm convinced that if I change out the filter for a high flow one, it'll foam up more. Then again, that's my theory but will need to do some trial testing. Do you by chance happen to do a maintenance on the new cannon? I'd like to see how the filter looks like.

    • @DetailingTime

      Or you could buy something like Demon Shine Demon Foam With Snow Foam Gun and reuse the gun with your own 1:5 dilution.
      The Demon shine costs around £10 /2l in the UK...

      Something like this:-

      You just use the product as per the link with a hosepipe or wasker .....When the cleaning liquid runs out, just use your normal 5:1 diluted mix from your magic mix....
