CORRECTION: Looks like I made a mistake on how I stated Marquez's record. I just checked how that happened and it looks like I'd written out a factually correct sentence in my script and then read it wrong and didn't catch it. I apologize for the mistake. I try my best to get records, stats, dates and name pronunciations correct. I do have the same person who edits fact check the script when they get it. Luckily doesn't change the video very much so no big deal :)

Mayweather cheats and all his fights are fake. You can't pretend he is a real boxer when he just cheats every time he gets in trouble, bends down and puts his entire upper body and back of his head to the opponent. It's basically exiting the ring and nobody seems to have a problem with it because people are dipshits.

Marquez was moving up two weight classes though as a master boxer was up against a superior technician, with height weight and speed advantage, who was also THE master counter puncher in the game. It guarantees nothing. Contracted, I understand is a legality issue but the fight itself, was pure tactical superiority. It's not like Marquez would've magically landed the shots he missed if only he was a bit lighter. Floyd is just that much better. You don't move up weight classes just because you gained weight like it's a right of passage, obviously, skill is king. Marquez fought great fight I'm sure anyone else at the time would've been trapped in a brawl with Marquez if they fought him that day. Marquez knows Floyd is just on a different. Well, it *does* have obvious flaws, chiefly the lack of lateral head movement to one side (as well as lateral movement in general being more restricted) and a heavy reliance on straight punches (hooks don’t have as much behind them due to the narrow, bladed stance). That said, a good fighter knows his own weaknesses and works around them-same as in most any fighting style. Like most everything, there’s a give and take.

@@Drifter101z I already gave you the reason why Floyd fought Marquez: 2008 is when the talks of a Manny-Floyd started because Manny had just defeated De La Hoya at 147, who Floyd beat in 2007. So when Floyd came back after two years of inactivity, he choose to fight Marquez. Marquez was ranked 3rd P4P at the time and was seen as more or less Manny’s biggest rival. Manny jumped to 147 from 135 to fight an non-prime De La Hoya and everyone praises Manny for daring to be great. But when Marquez does the same thing (jumping to 147 from 135) to fight Floyd, you criticize Floyd for it and don’t give Marquez credit. Why is there a double standard lol?
And you do realize that Floyd is a naturally smaller guy as well, who started his career at 130 lol? Manny, Floyd and Marquez all started at lower weights but moved up and competed, and ended their careers at 147. So when you talk about weight, why is it only a positive thing when it comes to Manny but negative when it comes to Marquez and Floyd lol?

@@Drifter101z Manny-Floyd after Manny beat De La Hoya (December of 2008), which still means it started in 2008… but arguing over the particular start date doesn’t really matter because the idea of a Floyd-Manny fight still started after the Manny-De La Hoya fight, which is what I stated lol.
Floyd receiving hate for announcing a fight is a normal reaction from his detractors so I don’t what point you were trying to prove with that lol. And no, Floyd isn’t a natural 130 in 2009, but he was still a naturally smaller 147 since he came up 4 divisions rather than starting at 147.
I have addressed all your argument points/questions and I have already gave you a reason why Floyd fought Marquez (which is backed by what Floyd said himself), but yet you strawman my argument and deflect the questions I ask you.
So let me ask again, why is there a double standard for Manny going up to 147 from 135 and Marquez going up to 147 from 135? Why is weight only a positive thing for Manny but negative for Marquez and Floyd? Please don’t duck these questions 😂

I cant put him above a Robinson or Ali or Moore and several others though absolutely not, but still makes him one of the best ever in the end anyways could be top 20 at worst more likely top 10 and ya dont get that high without having a very very very good resume or a great one in the end even if it could have been even better ya know what I mean. I think the only fighters of the past 40 years who for sure or probably had better resume then Floyd for example would be lets see Holyfield/Hopkins, maybe Roy Jones jr, though even he gets some crap for his resume at times even though its also incredibly good really even with him missing the big 4 fights at super middle of the era, then Delahaoya probably, Pac I suppose, and i'd say he and Whitakers resumes are either about tied or one has a slight edge over the other, I could be missing a few? but point is even with the what could have beens and what he should have done and his unfortunate personality/choices at times, he still in the end does in fact have a great resume and one thats literally still better than 9 out of 10 fellow greats of his era. I do know what ya mean though. It really is a shame he didn't get to face Mosley even from a few years prior or Delahoya as well to, but then again same goes for Pacx who faced significantly worse way more faded versions of those 2, but he also faced like Bradley 3 times and marquez 4 times and etc etc but just saying for example that particular thing with them went both ways, but Pacs other fights likely off set those post prime faded wins of his own in Mosley and Delahaoyas case, where as at least Floyd got to face a version of them that had some left at least ya know.

First, if you knew much about fighting or ever actually boxed, you would know that there is NOTHING that you can do to "inflate" a victory outside of the ring. You either win or you lose, INSIDE of the ring. Second, how do you wait for an opponent 3 years younger than yourself to "get old"? All of you haters who always tell that lie never seem to acknowledge the fact that Mayweather is 3 years OLDER than Pacquaio. Also, if Pacquiao was so damned OLD when Mayweather beat him, how is it that a 40 year old Pacquaio was able to soundly beat a 28 year old Keith Thurman 4 years AFTER Mayweather beat Pacquaio? Second, you're trying to downplay and make excuses for Mayweather beating Canelo by claiming that he "fought very young" fighters. Fella, Canelo Alvarez was an undefeated champion with a record of 42-0-1 before he fought Mayweather. He was the most dangerous fight and fighter Mayweather could have fought at the time, he moved up 2 weight classes to do it and Alvarez still came in outweighing him by 15 pounds and got schooled. If he was "too young", and "not ready", how was he undefeated up to that point, and stayed undefeated for 8 years AFTER Mayweather beat him? How come he wasn't "too young" or "not yet in his prime" enough for all those other guys he beat? Your excuses are bullshit.
As far as anyone questioning Mayweather's skill, again, this simply shows that you don't know boxing. People say a lot of things about Mayweather, some true, some not. However, no serious critic questions his skill.

Great video.. one minor criticism- I wouldn't say Marquez was dominating any exchanges. The clips you shared showed them landing evenly, along with Marquez missing anything extra.. but I get the point you were making. Against Floyd, any one land counts for three it seems. Lol

yes agreed, sure Floyd fought a great technical fight, but the weight difference was huge and stylistically Marquez worked right into his wheelhouse (he had no choice against a bigger faster oppont) it has to be the first thing mentioned in this fight.

Dislike what? Physics? Not every boxer is going to have monster punching power. Some fighters will have average or above average punching power, some are monster punchers for their size, and others are light hitters. Some fighters have decent power for their size but are small for the weight class they fight in. Some fighters have granite chins and hard heads. Other fighters have lessor durability and are easily knocked out. Some fighters have hard well conditioned hands and others are cursed with brittle hands that break easily which effects how hard they can hit and how much damage they can do. Not every fighter will fall when hit and some fights will have to be won on decision.
