Tech is built to break these days so that you buy more...PS1 was still part of the era of "built to last". I still have my PS1 in working order on display on my shelf...but it was never in this condition.
Impressive how people throw things away like that after being part of their happiness, videos like that makes me sentimental. It's like a surgery for machines to bring them back to life, amazing work.
This was definitely a PS1 that was on multiple construction site jobs for people on break wanting to play Crash lol. No other answer could be right lol.

He went to the store, got me a memory card and told me to save my game
I was a kid during the ColecoVision/Atari days, and let me tell you what a pure joy it is to see the video gaming industry where it is today...I can't even wrap my head around what it would have been like to have the graphics and complexity these games today have when I was a kid in the 80's. You never had the laser sled issue? Every first wave PS1 I have ever encountered had to be played with the console upside down in order to read the disc. I find it very difficult to believe that a PS from 94-95 still works with zero issue, as they were terribly made and 99.9% of them had issues even several years later. If it's from a junkyard I understand why it is covered in this dirt, I worked at one and I can tell you absolutely nothing can stay clean there more than 1 minute. Very nice restoration, good job.
@@resEG too bad the test at the end was faked. perhaps you could mention that at any time? maybe do a small explanation if any parts were replaced/actually repaired? That's awesome and what makes it even better is the fact that it is the better, imo, model because of the access port on the back. I had both models, one with the port and one after they removed the port, or removed the cover that allowed access to the port. I could make any cheat code for pretty much any game. Oh santa casualidad.... Que recubrimiento con cemento tan conveniente y casual para hacer el vídeo y sobre todo fácil de quitar. Claro, es que antes pavimentábamos las calles con PS1.
For the corroded metal parts, it would have been a good idea, to use chemical rust to iron conversion solution. To stop the process. You can already see, on the both controller ports up on top, that the corroding going on. And this gunk may have been looked like cement, but in this case you would have unable to wash it off just with water (which has turned mostly brown - a sign, that this was a thick layer of sand and soil, imo). Beside of that: Nice work! Unpayable, in the meaning of work to cost of work.

As someone who has an original Sega in working condition and still plays it. I don't understand how anyones machine could get this bad..... How?? My machines are taken care of. Some are older than I am.. and I'm definitely older than a play station. Lol

Fake Video
Cest reparer... FAKE...
I was going to say, I still have my PS1, and it didn't "fossilize". Glad to know 1997 isn't treated like 1897.
It's crazy how new them screws look under all that cement
The screws must have never been removed, thus kept very safe in that tight space from the elements over the years. The cement is very thick and is not fluid enough to go deep down to coat the screws.
Propsy, gratulacje 👍👍👍
