    Owning this bow since 2017, after seeing your review. I use this bow for recreation and for barebow competitions. I have other bows, but black wolf is my favorite. Greetings from Indonesia 🎯

    Can a bow be too good ? The answer to that question depends on how much one appreciates quality engineering. I love things that are well engineered and if that thing is beautiful to the eye as well, all the better. I've ordered one and am now counting to days to its arrival. Nice shooting in the vid by the way.

    Just putting this out there- as you say that "it feels like it's missing something". And I completely agree! When I first got this bow new I thought you were a little "mad", as you put it, but after shooting maybe 12 dozen arrows (using the same arrow but at 400 spine on my #45 on a 62") I completely agree. What I did do to change it up a bit was switch to a D97 Flemish. This has slowed the bow down a touch but there is so much more feel for where you are shooting over the stock endless fastflight string, which I will note is really critical of you're shooting style and is really hard on the fingers if you use a glove like myself.
    Any ways, thanks Jim for making this video. It played a huge influence on my purchase especially when comparing it to the Hoyt Buffalo in your other video. The fit and finish and the limb choices were the major turn-offs for the Hoyt, hence the Win&Win Black.

    Jim, I like your videos on the bows. With the Win Win RCX I like that you mentioned it has no hand shock. I have arthritis in my hands elbows and just about all my joints so the no HS is a big plus foe me.
    I seen your other vid. on the Black Wolf and I think that would be the one I would get. As I said I watched this vid. of you did on the Black Wolf but I can't seem to be able to find it again. Thank you Jim and keep them coming.
    Alan.

    Just purchase the riser, well the Black Wolf anyway. But I’ve got cheaper carbon limbs so hopefully they’ll go together. Probably end up shelling out for the Black Wolf limbs at some point too!

    I just realised the ironic pun (either you intentionally or unintentionally made @10:05 or), when you said it lacked soul, but Win&Win is a Korean company located right near the capital, Seoul. XD

    What you're trying to explain is your preference for risk/reward. I'm pretty new to archery but I have exactly the same thing driving cars. What you're trying to intimate is that shooting a nice grouping with a consistently great bow isn't very rewarding (in much the same way as pulling a hairpin at silly G's in an over-engineered chassis). You don't get the same feeling of accomplishment. It's the quirks that make the challenge. Without the challenge, where's the reward?

    I have a Black Wolf 65lb 58 inch. One thing I noticed in your vid is that when you set up the shelf you only used a thin leather strip directly on the vertical part of the riser. Didnt that make the arrow tip point well right of the centreline? My bow came with an 8mm plastic spacer to add to the riser if shooting off the shelf and i still had to pad it out more to get the point to just left of centre. Could you clarify please?

    • @colourglue
      @colourglue 7 років тому

      Splashdown64 I have the same issue. I packed my shelf out with hard foam to push the arrow to the left, but noticed he does not do this.
      I bought mine last year and it did not include a plastic piece so that must be new. as far as shooting it with the arrow wayyyy to the right, it works if you use a much stiffer arrow that doesn't paradox as much. I'm surprised he was able to do it so accurately though

    What is normal on a 60" bow? Not the recommended height by Win & Win but your own set up? Jim, I wrote back a few months ago, when I ordered W&W Black Wolf limbs for my BW Riser, and the noise I was experiencing when shooting it. I worked on this problem for a couple weeks, starting with brace height run in to 7" to bring it out to 7 7/8 ". The recommended W&W brace height for this bow is 7" to 7.5". I've gone out past this limit and have stayed with a brace height of the 7 7/8" brace height and tiller set to T limb 6 3/8", and B limb set at 6 1/4 ", anyway after numerous changing and re-changing brace and tiller settings, these last measurements, is where the bow is acting like a perfect "wet dream" it's a magnificent bow now, and I'm very happy with it, infact it's my #1 bow to shoot now. Oh the arrows I'm shooting now are cut to 26.5 ", 500 spine, 336 gram, or 518.6 grain, (which ever), and have a 150gn field point, fletched with 4" lite plastic vanes from AMETXGS, (from China) which seem to respond very well, and strin is a D97 Fast Flight, limbs are 40# but shooting right around 38#, with my draw length, anyway, bringing the arrow group in a 6" circle at 25 yards, all point on. Jim thanks for the past help and advice, with perseverance, I'm a total Happy Camper - thanks

    I'm always amazed by how tight your groups are since you're not using a sight or even an arrow rest and plunger - you're obviously very talented. This bow doesn't have fittings for a sight so do you think that you could realistically complete against an average target recurve shooter with this bow ? I was thinking of getting one for my first bow as I have a leaning towards field archery but don't want to rule myself out of target archery. Thanks

    • @dragon111409
      @dragon111409 9 років тому

      azw409 I would get an IFL Field Riser or bow that's taped for all of or most of the target archery accessories . Then you can just buy yourself a set of IFL Target limbs if you want them . If you don't mind modifying the limbs and are comfy doing so look into the hoyt trad line ( The Game Master 2 / Dorado only the tiburon and buffalo use formula like limbs ) . and if you want to do target DO NOT GET A CAMO BOW . Most leagues have a ban on camo of any kind on a bow or gear including clothes . I would check out Nusensei here on youtube for target archery . Biggest thing is to do your research and you should be fine . :)

    Un arc dont on attend beaucoup mais au final, on passe surtout du temps à l'attendre. Commandé le 1er septembre 2021 auprès d'une archerie pas sur le net. Reçu le 20 décembre 2021. Le 30 mars 2022, au cours d'un entraînement en club, ma branche supérieure a éclaté, les couches de carbone se sont décollées. Retour et prise en charge SAV acceptés. Branche à priori en stock et je les attends depuis six semaines. Je déconseille l'achat de cet arc...

    Hi my name is Ronnie and I have a questions about the Win and Win RCX-17 Traditional Recurve. My question is. The limbs are ILF right?.
    And that's okay. However! are the limbs adjustable in strength? if they are? thats is not so good if you compete under FITA rules. So I hope you say that the limbs are not adjustable. Its okej if you can adjuste the tiller, but not the strength.
    Regards/Ronnie

    • @MerlinArchery
      @MerlinArchery  9 років тому

      Ron For Hi Ronnie,
      There is tiller adjustment and as a by product of that there "can" be some minor poundage adjustment but that is across the board with pretty much any ILF riser.
      I never really recommend relying on that as a poundage adjustment. Ive seen way to many crushed limbs and blown up bows with folks pushing it to hard one way or the other.... I hope that helps buddy

    • @MerlinArchery
      @MerlinArchery  9 років тому

      Its more of a field bow that a target bow, but there is nothing wrong with using it a a barebow in a target comp. as for the poundage, if you can cope with it 45 - 50lbs is a great poundage. But if you are hunting and its legal in your part of the world, id go for the higher poundage providing you can shoot it competently and and accurately... Hope that helps Radu Andreyi ;)
