The Crumbleys KNEW Ethan was a problem.
Picture the moment after the school sends out that active emergency alert. EVERY parent is immediately on their way to the school....except the Crumbleys. You know where James Crumbley headed? Home. To check on the gun.
They knew. But they were busy with their own lives, & they'd spent a lifetime ignoring Ethan anyway. Neglectful parents mostly get away with it. The issue for the Crumbleys is that the teenage boy they were ignoring was a sociopath.

I believe they bought him the gun and left it accessible to him because they were actually secretly hoping he would unalive himself. I do think they were not expecting him to harm others. But they really had no interest in actually spending their time on parenting, so it would have been convenient for their priorities to have him out of the way.

Who would have thought giving a troubled young man a gun, help train the boy to use the gun, ignore signs of a violent person and teacher reports of his troubling thoughts and behavior, would ever hurt anyone?
Most shooters cases don’t have a dad who trained him in shooting and had a mom who told him “not to get caught” while looking up the types of bullets he wanted during class.
WHO THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO BUY A GUN FOR A KNOWINGLY DEPRESSED KID.
His parents gave him the bullets and the gun which would be much harder to obtain as a 15 year old if he just tried to get them with out because of the legal age to buy a 22.
Hopefully this case will stop parents from buying guns for their kids thus keeping kids from killing there peers with legally obtained guns

    • @karishaase4800
      @karishaase4800 6 місяців тому +1

The gun could have been obtained illegally even if his dad didn’t buy him the 22. However it would be harder and risker than the legal way.
The shooter waited for his dad to buy him one. It is possible that if his parents didn’t buy the gun he wouldnt be able to kill someone as he waited until he was allowed by a parent

@@karishaase4800 Good point...They bought the gun over the Thanksgiving holiday, and he shot up the school on the first day back to class. in the police interview, James claimed that the gun was stored separately from the empty magazines, and the bullets were in a third location. IF that is even true, I think it sounds even worse. It couldn't be very well hidden if the kid found all 3 items supposedly in different places.

The father should be punished as well just like the mother and the shooter were. The parents are just as guilty as the shooter. Remember the scenario of the bank robber and the person driving the getaway car? In that case both are guilty of robbing the bank. And if the robber shoots and kills, the driver is also guilty of homicide. So, I have no pity for the Crumbley family. Only sorrow and sadness for the victims.😢

@@BradJames878 Maybe he should’ve asked Ethan if he had access to a gun, but as soon as the parents were called to the school and saw his drawings of a handgun and a dead body, they absolutely should’ve told the counselor that they purchased him a similar handgun for a Christmas just four days earlier. Jennifer took him shooting on Saturday with his present and on Tuesday they see that math worksheet and don’t make a connection that it looks just like the gun they have at home. Even without guns in the home any decent parent who saw that paper would’ve taken their kid out of school immediately to get them help. Why on earth would the school have thought it was possible for this disturbed kid to have access to a gun? Yes, they should’ve searched his bag, they should’ve insisted the parents take him out of school instead of giving them a choice. At least they recognized that Ethan needed and wanted help instead of laughing at him. They had no way to know that these parents were neglectful and wildly irresponsible with a deadly weapon.

We have plenty of gun laws. Most crimes are committed with stolen guns. Hinder the rights of law abiding citizens and you won't be able to defend yourself if needed. This is clearly the parents fault. And a new precedent was set with Jennifer Crumbly. One that I believe was needed. More parents need to be held accountable. Especially with one's that have kids in gangs that are underage. Where they know their kids are committing crimes. And if there wasn't a gun they would find another way to mass kill. Homemade bombs, setting fires etc. No, we don't need more gun laws that will keep guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens, while criminals will still have theirs.

And why does everyone interject when the defense attorney starts asking about a possible gun in the backpack? Why didn't the counselors ask the kid if he had a gun? Why didn't they check the backpack? For days, teachers have been emailing their concerns to the counselors about the kid and pictures/videos of guns? Boo hiss on no real modding, Tremaine hiding behind the yellow L&C ribbon when not using his name, cravenly

Oh wow, I hadn't caught a live in ages, and tbh it was a little bc of work, but a lot bc of certain mods acting completely childish and being really RUDE for no reason.
      Total power drunk imo..
They just made a ton of us leave and go elsewhere bc we never felt welcome..
Not ALL mods were like that!!
@JenLo is great, LClinda is cool 2.
@Morgan Tremaine rocks!! Did they boot them 2??
Bc they were always fair and just did their job along with a couple others, I just can't remember their names.
Either way, I bet (management) got tired of hearing the countless people complaining on being blocked/timed-out/muted/comments deleted for NO reason whatsoever from the rude ones and just said ok, no mods then. You all handle yourselves, lol.
      I get it..
Bc every time I even attempted at chat, I swear some mod was being hateful for no reason, and 100 people were bishing about it so I figured with my type of humor, they'd surely zap me 2!
Hate to hear it if all of them are gone, bc again, ALL weren't bad. Just a select few egotistical ones.

Care, people. Just frickin CARE. This young man needed help. Adults shrugged it off or rationalized it. Yes the parents are most responsible for their kid. But there is negligence on the school’s part too. I hope that will be addressed
