Why not make the bottom fastening use the holes left by the cubby box lid hinges? If you did that it would require no drilling at all.
we tried but was not as strong a solution as we wanted

What are these for? Added security? I like the look of them on the outside like the nee defender has, always wondered what they are for tho! Presumed they where to carry equipment on.

My LR4 doesn't have third row seats, therefore there are no third pair of roof handles... :(
Genuine handles brackets can be easily installed under the ceiling. You can buy it as spare from your trusted Land Rover dealer 👍
@@LandRoverPassion I’m about to try that. It requires cutting inner ceiling and then figuring out how to mount the handles as there is now place for the screws. River nut through the sheet metal? Or cutting the sheet metal also to place a holder for the screw. But where to find them holders? Do you know if they are available somewhere?
@@janhagelberg4751 genuine brackets are usually available on request to LR dealer. They are bolted into the frame, no rivnuts are required 👍
@@LandRoverPassion Sweet. But getting the bracket bolted to the frame requires removing the inner ceiling panel, right?
@@janhagelberg4751 is not comfortable, but you can also do it by simply lowering it at the back. Remove some trims and second row handles to do it
It's nice but I think if you build or create similar for the outside to protect the glass.
I ordered this month's ago mayb a year I just now installed it looks beautiful rugged, simple installed both sides 30 minutes there is always room for improvement on any product, at final stage of install the 3 screws I'm planning on changing to black I think a pointed tip is much better then just drill a small hole and let the screw do the rest a bit longer , for anyone buying this product just know it's beat to put screws in a magnet nuts and bolt pan because they are small can be a bit slippery when grabbing to install so you won't lose one in the cracks and crevices on your rear storage area and other main poing don'tuse power tools to tighten nuts i recommend only hand tight they come with plastic nut insert to help stay tight , anyway I love this product it really making my lr3 come back to life I installed the defender passenger storage box and driver side ladder that gose on defender along with some other accessories I am about ready to do a week in Colorado back country 😊
