Great information. This helped out a great deal. I love how your videos are concise and to the point.
Jeff Shaw Thank you so much!
Hey I love your videos! I just started driving uber/lyft today and you've helped alot :)
BEASTLYMAN96 Thank you so much, I’m glad!
I love your videos they give a very clear concise of what to expect. The added bonus is that I noticed you have seat covers. Great idea
Thank you so much!! And, yeah, they are so helpful for protecting my car!
This is a great short video that tells all about it, good job!!
Ahmed Honey Thank you!!
You’re very good at this, describing your encounters but especially your insight. Thank you!
Thank you so much, you're so kind!
Very informative thank you..You covered a lot of good things to know there
Thank you very much!
I am researching & considering trying Uber Eats. Your mention of a hot/cold bag touched on one of my questions since I live in the Philly area. Are there particular type, shape & size bags I should buy? I looked on eBay & saw a few types, and figure one should be a pizza type bag.
Pat R. Pizza is not that common for my EATS cause pizza places usually deliver so I would go square bag.
I think McDonald's being on UberEats is what kills it, at least for me. I had a REAL restaurant say you Uber? There it is bye. That was $100 worth of food. McDonald's wants you to come in and sign for it. Like those fries are coming out of the vault 😂😂😂
Hahah definitely depends on your McDonalds. Mine have never had me sign for it. But I bet McDonalds is much more likely to have theft than a nicer restaurant so that doesn't surprise me.
I got banned from 1 of 2 24/7 McDonald's because I refused to sign for the order, and better yet, followed uber's explicit instructions to NOT sign for anything anywhere for any reason.
DJBDuBB219 that's a useful piece of information, thank you!
I find this depends on the specific McDonalds location. I’ve never had to sign for a McDonalds Uber Eats order. One location had a sign out sheet for Uber Eats orders, but they did not make me sign for the order - what’s the point of having a sign out sheet if you don’t use it? I thought that it was because that McDonald’s might have had bad reviews with Eats or a lot of wrong orders or undelivered orders or something. Who knows. I didn’t check.
Lol, just started uber eats near the university in my city. The McDonald's gets so many uber eats orders just leave them on the counter to be picked up. They give zero fucks.
Lucky, it seems, because of the first trips I've done, most have been to that very McDonald's and then across the street to the dorms.
You are very good at this. You will get your own show. Somebody will find you.. Have fun, play nice
That would be super cool haha
Don't advertise tips, there are 90 precentage people that don't tip at all......only 10 precent will tip. Facts
Definitely depends on your market. My market my Uber passengers tip 40%. Eats is much lower, though.
Definitely depends on the market. I've gotten a $10 tip on Uber eats. Generally, Uber eats tips just a little bit less and less often than Uber, but it's still decent.
Thank you! Been curious about UBEReats. I probably won't be doing it, but I learned something new today!
I'm glad it was helpful!
Jeez. This is a great video. Thank you.
Thank you, I'm so glad!
This was great! Im so nervous about starting. It seems easy, yet complicated, lol. I signed up like 2 months ago and never started. Do you have a video about the payment options and how each works? I signed up for the uber card just waiting for it to arrive. Seems like the best option but until then, i have it set to go to my bank debit card. Just wondering when the funds are available esp if you work on weekends. Thanks so much for making this video!
notebookluvr I don’t have a video on that! I honestly don’t know a lot about Uber card so I’m sorry I can’t help you too much! I know my deposit to my bank account happens on Wednesdays but comes out on Mondays. Good luck!!
LOL I like your video persona and delivery. Succinct and precise and funny.
Thank you so much!
Love your videos even when you talk fast makes me laugh makes learning fun love it lol stay positive
Thank you, you're so kind!
munchkym you welcome I also like the one where you have your email and said don't be a jerk unless you wanna be lol just got a newer car went from a 1994 Buick century to a 2013 Kia omptima now I can do uber eats and deliv which your videos help this also. Love the beginning of your videos too when you say the topic and the munchynsound comes up I even laugh. You can fit 5 but you are one of those 5. Yes I watch your videos huge fan. Lol thank you for making me laugh.
Hi miss, new to your channel. I'm signing up for uber eats now it's asking for invitation code, do I put your uber driver one or is there a separate code?
Also is this available in every city? I live in New Jersey
Thank you
Hey, milo! Thank you for using my code! Go ahead and use my driver code and it should work just fine. What it will give you is entirely dependent on your city, but I suspect that New Jersey will be good!
I've done EATS on occasions. I'm in Los Angeles, sometimes I would decline the request if I suspect it's in an area with lack of parking. Normally I keep EATS off.
slicknickxp Yeah, I do too. It’s not worth it for me and way less fun.
Dear Munchkin, I love watching all of your videos. I am also driving in Idaho. I was wondering if you can tell us what kind of camera do you use to record your videos. Please also tell us what kind of camera do you use in your car for video and audio recording. Thank you.
Abdul Azizi Thank you! I use my iPhone for my videos and Vantrue N2Pro for my dashcam.
Very in depth videos
Justin Furey Thank you!!
How often can you get paid doing UE? Do they have instant pay like DD?
Alexis G They do! Autodeposit is weekly.
The part I enjoyed the most of Uber eats was discovering restaurants that I had no idea existed! I will only do Uber eats now if it's really slow and if the restaurant is 5 minutes or closer. Best time to do it though is during weekend or holiday boost! The payouts are much now worth it then!
CubanIdaho Yeah, totally! I have loved getting to know my city better through driving!
Thx for the help
I'm glad it was helpful!!
Another great video with awesome info and tips! Thanks, Kym. Could you share your experience regarding earning differences between Eats and Regular Uber? I'm very antisocial and my English is not great, so I'm considering working more with Eats or Skip the dishes. Thanks again!
I haven't done a lot of UberEATS so I don't have a good breakdown, but some numbers I've seen from drivers in my market is like $21/hour for EATS and $29/hour for Uber. Every market will be different, every driver will see different results, hours will impact it, but hopefully that helps!
@@munchkym it helps a lot! Thanks again ;)
Good info, thanks 👍🏻
Happy to help!
BTW your info is great, i signed up and was approved by Uber, you changed my mind, never did a ride! Still need money! lol
Nigel Manx Haha thanks! I get it, it’s not for everyone.
Hi, how do I find my ratings for UE. I found how to find tips, but am curious if I was good, bad or indifferent from the customer. Oh yeah, I got a really nasty waitress from one restaurant today. Can I find out if she gave me a thumbs down?
It will pop up if you have a negative rating. Otherwise, it's just a thumbs up, thumbs down system so just assume it's good unless something bad pops up.
Perfect. I want to make a UA-cam channel like this. All the talky talk drives me nuts. You have a question tab?. I need you to be my UA-cam mentor ♥️
Sarah Tiru Haha feel free to email me questions! Let me know when your first video is up!
Thank you for your insight on Uber eats
Happy to help!
You were perfect. Explained all about the business and had a nice happy attitude. Question about the tip. With UBEREATS a delivery fee of between 3.99 and 6.99 is charged and I don't feel an additional tip is required? Your thoughts. On Uber rides again a ride fee is being charged so I don't tip additionally.
Thank you so much!
UberEats you absolutely should tip extra. The driver is only paid a small fee and it is truly abysmal. Most drivers are barely making minimum wage and Uber takes up to 80% of what you pay. I'm not even kidding. Most of the time, they take 40%. The driver is not seeing much.
Hello. I have a question, can we start working for UberEATS with a new driving license? I have a test in 2 weeks and I'm planing to get car for UberEATS right after that.
BuzzyBeatz I think they may require you to have a license for a few years first, but I’m not sure.
Found you from a link you left in an FB post! I’m signed up to do Uber Eats and Postmates (and more recently GrubHub). I only do Eats and not regular passenger Uber. I noticed in your Uber video you said to have both apps open. I wonder if I can do that for Postmates.
Also worth noting for people who watch this - my current 9-5 job situation has me in a different city during the work week than the city where I live. I wanted to deliver in both areas but Uber makes you pick one. Customer service says you can’t do both. So I picked where I work since I’m there more often. I think this is true for GrubHub as well but I just signed up for them and picked my home city since they JUST started running here (UberEats and Postmates aren’t here yet but they are in a very nearby city). Postmates lets you deliver in any city in which they operate once you sign up so I can do both.
I also just signed up for Amazon Flex, which also makes you pick ONE city... but I haven’t delivered for them so we’ll see how that goes.
Overall, I like Uber Eats better than Postmates since I get more deliveries with Eats and Postmates has a smaller area in the city where I work. I haven’t driven for GrubHub yet as I’ve just signed up. Now that I know I can have both apps open that opinion may change.
Regarding the insulated bag. Uber Eats says they supply one, but the Greenlight Center in my work city is in an inconvenient place, Uber doesn’t tell you you have to pay for it, and when I went to the Greenlight Center they were out of them! So I contacted customer service and they have a link to buy by mail. Postmates sent me a free bag when I signed up. Grubhub is allegedly sending me a shirt to wear while delivering but I have not gotten it yet.
Most of the time, the bag I have is too small to fit the orders, which are usually in the restaurants own bags. I like that McDonald’s puts sticker seals on their orders. The fact that most places use their own bags seems to make the insulated bag a bit unnecessary, and I’m ALWAYS fumbling with it... for both of my bags. Also, the bag is not large enough for pizzas. What bag do you use? I may have to look into getting a different/better one.
I’ve had customers ask me how to tip in Uber Eats. This is why it’s important to order for yourself before delivering for the first time - it’s not intuitive how to tip a driver! You have to go into the app after the delivery.
A lot of times, particularly with apartment buildings, it’s difficult to find the right building or see the house numbers in the dark. Customers rarely leave their apartment number. When delivering to a hotel, very often the front desk will not allow you to deliver directly to the room (even if the customer leaves a room number). My biggest complaint with Eats is hard to find customer drop off sites.
Wow, welcome, this is a big comment with a lot of nice information!
Are urban areas vs suburbs better, worse or the same for tips, ease and parking
Mark Vanderhoff I have never lived in a very urban area so I can’t be sure, but I know it’s tough to do pickups and drop offs in busier areas.
@@munchkym thanks for the reply!
I just turned on app for first time yesterday. I keep getting Uber x request but not any Uber eats request. Do you normally get way more Uber x request than Eats???
Bobby Smith I do, but it also depends on where you are! If you’re close to lots of restaurants, it may swing the other way.
How do I know if my area accepts Uber eats how if my nears McDonald’s accepts it
Just gotta check on the app!
I dislike everything about Uber and rideshare and would never do it, but I still watch your videos, lol. You have such a great personality. It would be outstanding if you could switch it up and do some videos on other things. Maybe reviews or something
Philly Repo I actually will be doing some videos on other topics as well, thanks for the feedback!
Upcoming topics are what it’s like to get lasik and a promo video for my board game I designed. :)
munchkym I’m sorry but mouse trap is the only board game worth playing anymore. Takes a long time to set up but it’s worth it 😉
Laundry Sanitizer with 0% Bleach Ahhh I really should make that video! Haha
Laundry Sanitizer with 0% Bleach Thank you! I actually got my lasik surgery already! :)
Lady, You knocked it out of the park...BOOM !!!
Thank you!! I worked really hard on this one, trying to make sure I got it all just right. :)
White Duck She does very good videos each time .
I love the fact that she's quick & to the point
Glenda Davis Thanks, Glenda!
Thank u for the info
Chris Krilly Happy to help!
Hey Uber Eats people! I have a question! I've been looking this up for awhile and I'm a college student that's having trouble paying the bills in-between classes. I currently work a campus job but it's getting difficult to have a set time schedule. Is doing only Uber Eats a good idea? Thank you
Piper Weingardt I personally don’t like it, but I know a LOT of drivers who drive just EATS. Depends on your area. Good luck!
Question: Is there a chance I might have to pay for the food if the customer didn't pay for it yet? Might be a stupid question but I rather ask.
Phuong Le Definitely not!
Do you know when they will deposit to my bank? I worked yesterday so iono when they'll deposit to my bank.
Deposits happen Mondays and usually arrive Wednesday-Friday depending on your bank.
Hey Kim thanks for the tips. You should be a professor, because your are sharp with your advices and explanations. Have great weekend
elvis navarro Thank you!
How will a bag know to keep food hot or cold??? :O)
MAGIC!
What I hate about it is that the food is never ready when I get there, so I waste a lot of time waiting, and the customers almost never tip. Every other delivery driver expects a tip, and receives it 90% of the time. Why are we any different?
YUP, that's how I feel.
Cause people are broke and don't want to tip lol
I'm a broke college student. Gotta worry about my own shit lol
@@John_Smith5 I hear you man, but alot of us are in college too and if you received good service then would it really kill you to chip in an extra dollar or two? People don't realize how many expenses this job creates and the miles add up fast.
Love the video
John Stelfox Thanks!
Can i do Uber Eats if I'm deactivated from regular Uber passenger driver
I honestly don't know, but I suspect it's a no. Possibly depending on why you were deactivated? I would check with support.
You need to sign up for an eats only account so it’s not attached to rides share, when it’s a stand alone account you get boost areas
Yeah, if only doing EATS this is great!
munchkym I have two account one with both eats and x and one with just eats only there is a huge difference when signing into each one
Hi Im wondering. Do yo work out of the airport? I know you can get long rides out of the airport.
reallife828 My airport is not worth it, actually. Many drivers sit there and “long” isn’t really long enough to justify the wait.
munchkym I hear ya. Were I live at I think its worth the wait if you so happen to drop someone off at the airport and can get a ride back out. Usually the rides are 30 40 miles out of the airport.
Yeah, that sounds amazing! 30-40 miles from my airport and you're in a desert wasteland. Haha
munchkym 😁 Not a wasteland, but the suburbs do not have commercial flights so they to go through the city to get to the burbs. When it comes to our professision every city offers different opportunities.😉
Wait staff in the United States are always paid in accordance with the minimum wage, as the difference between their fixed hourly wage and the federal minimum is ultimately compensated by either tips and/or the employer if tips prove inadequate to cover that difference.
Yes, I'm aware. Have you ever seen a server's paycheck, though? They truly make their money by tips.
You totally crack me up in a good way!!! Lol
Luke Pille Haha thanks!
I currently work at pizza place and I make an average of $70 a day (WAGE + TIPS - EXPENSES). I was thinking of quitting so I can work at Walmart and just do this maybe 2 nights a week. what is everyone's daily income?
Everyone's daily income is soooo variable based on many different factors. I would recommend trying it out for a bit before quitting your job and relying on it.
I like your lip ring! :)
THANK YOUUUUUU
No! Uber Eats is not worth it.
Waste of time! Low pay! Long waits. Your blamed by customer if order is wrong. Customer hard to find at night. Uber Eats pays you for one delivery when have you delivering two yet Uber got paid twice.
My recommendation dont waste your time with Uber Eats. Its not worth it.
Personally, I don't find it very valuable, but lots of people like it!
I'm doing eats and you're awesome I'm in Idaho too. Up here in Coeur d Alene.
That's fantastic! Yay, fellow Idahoan!
Good video!
DriverLady Pro Thank you!
Ur videos are so informative and I kno help many ppl. What about something about the rideshare competition. It seems like lyft is signing up more drivers than needed. I been an Lyft driver for a year now and it was so different say 5 months ago. Thankfully I have an great paying job and do this Part time but I dont see how ppl can live off of this .
Yeah, I totally feel ya! There are a lot of drivers out there, constantly new, and it really impacts some markets!
I figured out one strategy that works out really well, I live less then a mile from a lot of popular restaurants in my area and start out the day by accepting requests from those restaurants that are the most closest and if the delivery takes me across town near a McDonald's then after dropping off my delivery then I will wait for pings from that McDonald's, a person just needs strategy and also needs to know their market to make money on ubereats
C&S Gaming Biggest thing for everyone will always be “learn your market.”
It depends....if I'm on a quest, (a certain amount of trips in a certain amount of time) then I'm more interested in the the trips than the actual distance of the dropoff from the restaurant. In this case, McDonald's is welcome because the dropoffs are usually close by. Also, if you're working on a guaranteed hourly (2 trips per hour for $14/hr etc. then McDonald's is good.
Yeah, those are great reasons! My area rarely has those extra things, unfortunately.
Munchkym can you do more rideshare videos
It's your lucky day, I just uploaded a SECOND rideshare video! :)
The app doesn't tell you where you are going before you accept. I ended up going back to the same place a couple times.
Michael Rosen Yeah, that would be nice info.
I have a 2015 Nissan it was in a small vender bender but the insurance salvaged it. Can I still work Uber or lift with it? By the way ur so cute
Cali Kev Salvaged as in replaced that part or salvaged as in a refurbished vehicle? As long as the car doesn’t have any damage and is not a refurbished title, you should be fine! And thanks!
munchkym, if they don't allow refurbished/rebuilt titled cars, no way they would let a car with a salvaged title fly. A rebuilt or refurbished title is what the title is changed to after the state inspects your salvage titled car after it is restored.
Thanks for the help, Philly!
I have questions:
I've been driving for 3 days now and I'm noticing something I didn't see on the first 2 days called "Min Fare Supplement". Its only on a few orders though. How is this determined? It can't be mileage because there's one order that was 1.06 miles away with it, and another order that was 1.06 mi without it, so how is this factored in and why don't I get it on every delivery? Also, I've seen comments mentioning something called 'Boost' or 'Surge'. What is that, and is that in all areas because I've never seen it?
Things I wish I could change: The pay. The End.
..Seriously though, I wish you could rate a customer after the order is completed. Right now I only have the option to thumbs up or down while the order is still out for delivery..
I'm about to get a real job, but I want to start thumbing down everyone that doesn't tip and put that for the reason in the comment section in hopes that people (and uber) might get the 'hint'.. (but I cant do that because I dont know ive been tipped or not until long after the order has been completed)..
When I delivered pizzas almost everyone tipped, plus I got paid minimum wage + commission. So why are uber customers such cheapskates? You'd think they'd tip better because you can get sushi and other high end food from exotic places that normally wouldn't deliver..
Out of 20+ orders, Im lucky to get 2 or 3 tips and it's not worth destroying your car for $5 or $6 an hour. Its not like Im late either. I almost always get to the restaurant before the food is ready and I race it to the location and keep it in a hot bag/cold bag etc. My profile says "High Ratings". So does your rating eventually get you more pay or what? Someone using their own vehicle should be making $15-20/hr just to break even with minimum wage. After gas, my best night I averaged $9.79/hr on Sat and it was non stop driving for almost 10 hrs. During the week Im lucky to break $6/hr. I'm in a small car that gets 32mpg city so the only thing I can do to improve that is buy a hybrid. But at $6/hr I'll be lucky to make rent. That's not good considering mcdonalds starts at $12.50 where I live and average rent is over $1,200..
Uber honestly hates tipping so they design the rating system to prevent hurting people for not tipping.
I'm finally making about $17+/hr now that I get the boost option and my rating has gone up. I'm working late into the night so I can pretty much swoop up all the orders in my town and people are starting to tip better. I decided to just thumbs up every delivery in hopes that people might appreciate it in the long run.
You are the guru of uber/lyft 😉
reallife828 Haha thanks!
I love this girl, she's got such a great attitude and seems like she would rock to hang out with. Totally my type of friend.
Awakening To The Universe Wow, thank you! What a lovely thing to say!
munchkym your welcome :) I'm Dave btw. ;) Huge fan of the channel keep up the great work!
hi i like your videos!
Gabriel Vlogs Thank you!
I did a Harris Teeter Grocery run it was super easy. They load your car and the customer unloads you I did offer to help them but they had it handled.
Zack Shackelford Nice!
so small talk is an issue for you? answering the same question is a problem? how are you rated 4.7?
justin walt I have no idea what you’re talking about, I love small talk lol
Another UberEats tip: Don't do UberEats
Personally, yes, not worth it for me. But some people really enjoy it so I'm not gonna tell them what to do! Haha
UberEats is a great way to plummet your actual Uber hourly rate, guaranteed!
Wow you remind me of a friend and the last time I saw here coincidentally I advised her to do Uber eart for some extra cash:anyway thanks for the supercompaceadvice
Haha weird coincidence! And thanks, happy to help!
Any other driving jobs out there where you don't have to use your own car?
Pizza delivery?
Hey, there's munchkym!
Music Teacher Guy That’s me!
You know what ?? I notice when I watch utube videos, I find the ones that are edited like this one is, my brain can't process the constant blabbing. I'm an ubrreats biker, your tips are valid
daryl wizzard ayeee I'm a uber eats biker as well it's way better on bikes than on car
Barlos S that's why people make those painfully long slow moving videos? aaaaah. I ve always wondered.
Barlos S lot less overhead!
Sigyns Sagadöttír actually it's not as bad the people that you see on UA-cam are people that don't ride bikes on a daily basis or don't even ride I'm a fixie rider and I find it so easy to get to places fast I can do almost 5 or sometimes even 6 in 1 hour man
Barlos S I was talking about the editing lol but cool to know. it's too dangerous in Atlanta really at least for me haha
Ohh it's a good thing I don't really have Uber in my area - this would make it infinitely more easy to give in to my late night cravings when I can't be bothered to go out myself :P
WaistHighView Hahah it is definitely hard not to just order things all the damn time.
i do not do uber eats but i once accepted a regular uber ride, she called me up and requested i pick up food for her and deliver it,lol, after telling her 3 times i do not deliver food she angrily hung up,cancelled the ride, giving me 3.00 bucks, lol
Hahaha amazing
I work full time 5am-2pm and then do ubereats until 8-9pm and do it again. It’s a lot of time but so worth it
Wow, yeah! You've got the hustle going!
I love how chipper you are!
Thank you!!
what market do you work in?
John Kristofic Boise, Idaho.
They really need to have a charge to the restaurant if they make us wait. I spent 30 minutes waiting for McDonald’s
Melissa and Alex's Family I totally agree!
I click "order not ready" if I'm waiting at all.
In Los Angeles uber adds a $5 miscellaneous wait fee, but you have to have waited at least 15 minutes. After the order is delivered , you need to send a support message to uber eats support about the delivery and the long wait time. (Make sure you contact uber EATS support, not regular uber rides support) a few hours and uber eats support will add 5$ to the delivery. So I just, wait if I'm at McDonald's i don't get upset, I kinda encourage waiting because I know I'm getting add $5 to the delivery. I'm not sure if this available in every market tho, it's worth trying it out tho
I agree with the fee i have waited 45 minutes on McDonald's too and i call uber support but they didnt care about it, and also i have been getting order in a place that is close about 20 times i called uber support and told them that place is close but they still get orders there i dont know how can this be possible, well now i see the address and i dont accepted anymore because is a waste of gas which they dont pay you for it.
Some markets do. If the order isn't ready, I click "order not ready". In my market, after 10 minutes, I go into the trip and complain about a problem with the fare. I tell them the name of the restaurant, how long I waited, and give them any facts (like they didn't start the order until I arrived)
Uber then sends me a $5 wait fee. I don't know if they charge the restaurant or what. But, I always get the money.
@munchkym I do UberEats, Caviar, and Doordash all on a bike. I would say if you want to make a sustainable profit, driving is not the best choice, though each area is different. I live in Chicago and biking has proven to be the best method. With $200+ days every day, I don't need a "real" job. I get to bike as much as I'd like and still get paid for it lol
I believe services like uberEats can be highly lucrative if you are serious enough and treat it like a micro-business.
In my city, biking is not really an option. A city like Chicago, absolutely, though!
The problem with biking is if you wreck/get seriously hurt you are in trouble.
How's that bike this time of year? A little cold?
I waited 20 min for food. Totally worth it. Food was hot and good
That's great!
What does it mean if I’m getting reports for professionalism on these deliveries?
I guess I can answered my own question... I had some stickers on my back windows as well as a photo on my visor. Some people had asked about these things. So for new drivers this might help? As well there are videos pertaining to “professionalism “
Professionalism can also relate to your demeanor with the restaurant, for sure!
My favorite Uber Eats experience didn't involve me directly. The drunk in the other unit of my duplex apparently ordered a pizza then passed out. The poor delivery guy was pounding and shouting at about 11:30 PM. I went out to console him, and considered taking the pizza myself. But since it was pepperoni (which I don't eat) I suggested he just leave it out for the raccoons. He did. And the next morning, sure enough, the pizza had obviously been ravaged by tiny beasts. Good times!
Hahaha that's hilarious. Man, I want pizza now...
Here in Brazil we are earning $25,00 plus the trip to drop off the order. The R$25,00 is a promotion bonus!
Mac'Larry Machado Lawrence That’s awesome!!
Yes that is, but at the same time uber is taking more than 25% on uber X trips... this is making us drivers here crazy
This video covered pickup, drop off, tips, but not taxes which is a HUGE part of this job. UberEats is miscellaneous pay, so if you’re not putting aside money for taxes, at the end of the year all that money you got from UberEats is basically paid back as taxes. To do this right, you need to be keeping track of your mileage, vehicle expenses (car insurance, gas, repairs, tires), phone bill etc to lower your taxable income for the year as stated on Uber’s website. Uber drivers are also given access to Quickbooks Self Employed which allows drivers to pay quarterly taxes instead of a lump sum at the end of the year. Paying taxes 4x a year hurts a lot less than one big chunk
I definitely need to make a video on taxes, for sure!
I read online you only get few dollars for uber eats thats not enough for gas
Yeah, it's really not lucrative for many people.
I'm hesitant to use an app to order food, idk why. I just don't like over-complicating things, I guess.
TheHazeMonster Haha it can make it simpler sometimes! But yeah, totally fair.
💥👍👍🏾❤️.... As Always .... Essentially Informative ...... Articulate ... And Cute in the process 😊💥
Clyde Bermingham Thanks!
munchkym 😊💥👍🏾👍
My big con is that I will be in the middle of DC waiting for an hour and a half like today and no delivery
Ugh so frustrating!
Good video and advice, and really good topic on servers and wages because they don't get paid minimum wage or if they do it's averaged out for the week .
Vetted process 😉 Uber doesn't really have a vetting process as in training. One popular complaint from riders is the language barrier.
And you would be surprised at how many of these driver's drop off riders at the wrong location because "following gps only in combination with lack of English"
One rider didn't know the area that well and got dropped off in the different town haha.
Joseph f Haha I meant more “that person hasn’t gotten a background check and could be dangerous.
Thanks!
munchkym I just moved to California and quite a few riders I have picked up had been dropped off at the wrong location lol.
Lyft renamed line to shared!!! Finally no more drama of "OMG this has never happened before we are picking someone else up!???!@@@"
Oh, that is smart of them and good to know!!
munchkym hey, Lyft changed "line" to "shared"!!! 😀😀😀😎
Oh! I forgot to add! Surge pricing DOES show on the map for Eats, but 1, it’s usually 1.1x or 1.2x, and far away from where I am, so not worth driving all the way to Center City for a few pennies.
Yeah, it's hard to tell when it's EATS and when it's not.
Thanks
Happy to help!
I once drove 8 miles to a McDonald’s to drop off food to a customer that was 0.67 miles away....I WAS REALLY DESPERATE
Alex_TNW Ugh that is brutal
That is one lazy person. They probably use another app to feed them the food.
Alex_TNW McDonald’s deliveries are a waste of time and effort. Think of all the gas and mileage wasted and the ware and tare on your car. You are trying to make money. In this case you lost money for that delivery. Do what I always do. I always reject McDonald’s deliveries I only accept McDonald’s deliveries if the pickup is less than 5 minuets away. The customers usually never tip anyways so don’t let them or Uber take advantage of you.
@Russell Mondy these kinds services are often used by people with disabilities and people who are sick or injured and may not be able to leave the house or cook and still need to eat... i have sometimes ordered food from cafes close by when i've been unable to sit up without feeling dizzy and even answering the door and eating the food was a struggle.
please dont automatically assume people are just "lazy"
piarate king Certainly a possibility but I don't think "likely." Uber Eats and it's competition is new and since every person I've handed food to looked healthy I'm going to assume it when a delivery is a block or two away.
I started today. I made 24 in 2-3 hrs. 3 deliveries. first 2 didnt even tip which is annoying
Ugh, yeah that's unfortunately very low. :\
They only charge customers between $4 & $6 for Denver and pay us about $6 on average. One of my deliveries was $10. They take about $2 on top. Then I read they charge the restaurant 30%. They're likely raking it in
Michael Rosen Wow yeah that’s quite the payscale!
I read that those restaurants are losing money because of that 30% charge. They already have a razor thin profit margin. I wonder how long this will last as a business model.
I do eats but I got complaint on for not saying much so I fake my personality it gets me good ratings but it's wierd
Charles Benson Yeah, that’s honestly the service industry in a nutshell. Paid to be nice.
I drive Uber in Boston. Tips are rare. About one out of ten jobs or less. I used to do Postmates in Portland OREGON and I hated it because I had to park at meters usually and in Portland that basically takes half of what I earned. Big problem. Uber automatically added UberEats to my account. It’s nice to have but I didn’t ask for it.
I did make another video showing how to turn it off if you don't want to do it, but that's interesting they just added it! I had to apply for it when it came to my city.
One Uber eats delivery I'll NEVER forget. I travelled 4 minutes away to a Five Guys. Literally waited 28 minutes because the order wasn't even ready. Found out that they serve orders in the order they receive them. After patiently biting my tongue, the order was finally ready after confirming the small order. I travelled 19 minutes away to end up at a gated apartment community. After calling customer, I was finally in after 7 minutes. It took me an additional 6 minutes to find the right building through the maze of buildings. Next, I had to take the stairs up to the 4th floor because the elevators were out. That took another 6 minutes. I had to call customer again just to answer the door. Another 6 minutes😡
Basically all that for chump change which resulted in a LOSS. NEVER will I ever do Eats again.
Mr. Hooper I can’t believe you waited that long, that’s ridiculous!
They suppose to pay for wait time
@@BIGFACTSAIRANTS not on eats
Why do you have to go to them like go to the exact door? I live in San Diego and on my uber eats app uber eats make me go outside to the street to get my food as if I was ordering a ride.
@@itskmarvelmann In Texas, you have to deliver directly to the door.
If working for Uber eats is so difficult, why don’t you go work for Postmates?
I don't work for either?
munchkym oh ok got ya 🙂
If do part time , deliver pizza and expected traditional tips and you will not be disappointing, concern about "will be tips?"
I don't understand this question.
