Great open-minded video
I just started nano walstad tank, going about one month today. Funny thing is I disliked worms and little stuffs, so I decided to put my baby fish in it after a week. surprisingly they are doing well. I never tested my water but I'm surprised by the fast cycle. 😁
That’s great! Ammonia spikes can happen any time, though, so I definitely recommend testing your water so you don’t end up with a sudden death!
@@munchkym they're juvenile now and looking forward to breed soon enough 😁 the plants are going insane every week, it's suddenly becoming a high tech tank LOL

Yup! My videos follow my interests! They always have, and it was Lyft and Uber for a while.
But covid has made getting back to driving feel unsafe so I haven’t had anything to say about Lyft and Uber in a while.

I did the opposite of the Walstad Method (Few plants, heavily stocked, industrial filtration) and it was the most maintenance intensive pet I've ever owned. Hah! A dog was much, much easier. I'd like to try this method someday, it looks promising.
I came back to watch again because I needed to see one of your videos; have you quit UA-cam? I always looked forward to your videos as youwere always such a bright light in the dark place of the internet!
I didn't know there was a word for this kind of aquarium keeping. With the exception of the dirt as a first layer, this is how I have done aquariums for at least 15 years. Lots of plants, few fish, occasional water changes. And my fish live forever, so clearly it works. I'll have to investigate this book and see what I can do better.
Also, what kind of loaches are those?

These are dojo loaches! They’ll get pretty big. I love them, they’re my favorite fish!
@@munchkym Neat. Just some some reading and they're like giant Kuhli loaches (one of my favourites) in so many ways. Will definitely consider them if I set up a big enough aquarium.

What happened to your uber career?
I would disagree that substrate is not as important in a conventional aquarium. Substrate can be used as biological filtration in any non Walstad aquarium.
man... here I am being told that gravel is better than sand so that's what I did .... let me just go cry in a corner
