I love everything about this painting...the colors the sky the water shimmer the boat...i simply must paint this! Thank you for another stellar lesson 😊
Thank you so much 😀Lolly G - As you might have guessed I'm a seascape nut. I love living by it and painting it so its a regular feature. Have a great week - Paul 😃😍😎
Hi Paul! I’m so glad that you gave us that wonderful top tip for the texture in the sand! I’m so excited to try it. I’m going to guess that your skies and clouds are one of your most rewarding parts of painting, along with the color choices. Your hand seems to dance while painting them! Thank you for sharing this tutorial with us. Have a fantastic week!
🤗😃✨🎨🖌️✨
You are so welcome Stephanie. I keep a few old worn out brushes just for texturing a painting - the scruffier the better they work! I have another scene in my head already. Just got to make it into a painting. 😃😎
I really like Paul the colors are warm... bravo
Hi Corinne 😃 thank you. Its a great comination of colours and one I've used before. Give it a try 😃😍😎
Another excellent painting with colours i wouldnt dream of using lovely really and i love the way you show you to make a mistake and how you eradicate it thank you Paul for a wonderful tutorial
Hi John - I think showing the gaffs and mishaps is almost more important that the bit that work out as expected. I used to have about a 10% success rate when I started out many years ago. But with a few paintings under my belt the rate is closer to 95% So you see there will alway be that 5% that I use for fire lighters - Happy Painting - Paul 😃😎
Gorgeous ! 😍
Thank you!! 😊 - Paul
Wonderful painting, and full of tidbits of wisdom and insight that I can apply to my own painting journey. Thank you!
You are so welcome! I gather these small gems along the way so pleased to share them 😃😎
So freaking great 👍🏻
Thanks dude - Paul 😃😎🤘
I was looking for my first seascape to try and this one will be perfect!🎉
Brilliant Kerri - add or lrave out the boat and change it for a rock as I suggested earlier. Just have fun - best wishes- Paul 😃😍😎
I missed today, but I watched it now ...and Paul its soooo beautiful. Thanks for showing your Process with All your 'mistakes'. Makes us feel much more comfortable with our own fales and fixes. So good to See, this happens to pros like you too. Love it❤ thank you! As always 😊
Hi sweetie - yes this could have been one pickle too far. But I pulled it back at the last moment - Have a great week and see you soon - Paul 😃😎
I love that.
Thanks Aaron - nice to hear from you - Paul 😃😎
If I ever travel again, I would love a lesson in person.@@PaulRansonArt
Wonderful painting Paul, I like the nice warm feeling it gives off, and I like the lonely boat on it, gosh if I did this I'd almost want to jump into the painting and just row off into the sunset, cheers 😊👍
Hi Damien - yes its a lovely scene and hopefully one to inspire others to have a go at a seascape.😃😎
thanks for sharing, Paul!
Hey there Jim - I see you cracked the mystery of the forbidden comments 😃😎
@@PaulRansonArt yes...I had some youtube ad blockers going...turned them off, and can now comment lol
thanks Jim @@jameslittle2382
6:14 - haha, that was funny - kinda got me for a second there! 😊 6:25 - Fantastic - thanks, great demo! 8:40 - Another fantastic tip!
Absolutely beautiful seascape, Paul - thanks so much for sharing and the great tutorial. You're the best!!! Have a great week ahead.
Hi Steve - thank you once again for your donation to my Coffee Cup - paint funds. Our fur babies are a delightful destraction. Poppy cat wonders who am talking to when I'm filming. She often comes to check that I'm ok talking to myself. 😃🤣😎
Absolutely Paul, and you are so welcome. A small token of my appreciation for what you do. Also, you are so right about our fur babies. Our pets are such wonderful parts of our lives. My doggy, Bleu, has been with me for a long time now, and I'd be completely lost without him. Thanks again, and I'll be looking forward to next week's painting. Cheers, 😊🥂
Hello Paul. Another winner. Loved it, especially your tip about using charcoal on the back of the boat photograph It's a great comfort to me to see that a great painter, like yourself, traced the boat to the canvas. I have been using this method for years (I couldn't draw to save my life) but I have been using carbon paper. Keep them coming. Jack
Thanks 👍Jack. I'll use anything I have to make the process easier. I did a painting a while ago that used the figure of '8' technique as well. But I like to keep it simple. Lots more to come 😃😎
Thank you
Thank you Riaan I'm pleased you enjoyed it 😃😎
@@PaulRansonArt only because of you ,sir .
Thanks
Hello and a big thank you for the Super Thanks donation. I'm so pleased my videos have helped and look forwad to making many more. The next time you see me paint you'll know a little piece of that painting exists because of you. Happy Painting - Paul 😃😎
Looks brilliant Paul and lovely colours I will give the boat a try ,but I might have to leave it out , 😊🐈🐈⬛🐶
Cat flap 😅🐈🐈⬛🐶👍
Yes the catflap made a return this week. I dropped a link to the boat image for you to try. But if all elase fails stick a rock on it or turn it into a sand dune. The world is your lobster as Del would say 🤣😃😍😎
@PaulRansonArt haha will take your advice Paul if the boats Sinks ! Or it could be a boat wreck 🤔 last resort a cockle stall 🤣😂😅🐈🐈⬛🐶
Absolutely beautiful painting, paul. ❤
Thank you Hugh. The sky is a favourite as I mentined. I'll use it again for another mix and match scene I'm sure 😃😎
You make this look so easy 😂
Well after a few tries I got there in the end - 😃😎
video idea: make a homemade brush beater box
Ok its on my list of stuff to do. TBH I just stick a wire toast rack in an old kitchen bin. I think this would be the shortest video on UA-cam! Maybe i'll do a studio tour and bits and bobs video 😃😎
@@PaulRansonArt thats a good idea! Right now i just have a big bin and smack the brushes against the walls 🤣
The carbon paper is a good idea. Otherwise its using the dreaded grid. None of the shortcuts are cheating ... that's just a plain silly idea that people who know nothing about how art is done complain about. I would use a projector as well if I could find a good one that is made for the purpose. Carbon paper is good. Saves loads of time and loads of stress of not getting the drawing "right". I have used it many a time as well as other short-cuts for the final drawing. It's odd that people think that optical short cuts and carbon paper are "cheating" but they are not. The real art is in the painting and arranging the composition to make a harmonious whole. My 5year old niece says I like "colouring in " ... well little one, it aint ezy as it looks Superb painting!
We dont make mistakes
We have happy accidents
Absolutly! Your'e obviously a fan of Bob's. He had lots of wonderful catch phrases. Hope to see you again soon😃😍😎
Lovely tranquill painting Paul..love the cloud colours..and the gate crashing pussy,s really look forward to the sunday evening tutorial..just melts the previous week away😊😊
Brilliant William - so pleased to be part of your weekly routine. Hope your week isn't too stressful 😃😎
Where did you get your sticky item to cut out your elephants. I can’t find it any where
Hi Vicki - its a sticky back plastic I buy from our local DIY store. Its sometimes called Con-Tact paper in the USA. Its mostly used as a decorative covering for kitchen draws etc. Way cheaper and better that the product called Friskit sold in art shops. Thats only good for paper and barely sticks to canvas.- Hope that helps - Paul 😃😎
Really lovely! Are any of your paintings for sale?
Hi Heather, well my originals are on my DIY paper 'canvases' so not really good enough to sell. I did set up an Etsy shop for prints but its proving to be a bigger/complicated set up than expected.😥 I hope to get this up and running soon. 😃😎
Oh great but how do you keep from erasing it while painting
Hi Vicki - yes, you do need to take care when painting this. If you look closely at my video the outline of the boat does become feint but only on camera. In real life the outline is much clearer. If it does start to disappear too much then stop and use a Q tip or cotton bud to find the outline again. Give it a try - best wishes - Paul 😃😍😎
🥩 I LOVE YOU MORE THAN STEAK AND EGGS 🥚🥚🥚
YESSSS
Thank you - I'm as nice as steak and eggs - I'll take any compliments I get 😂😘😎
