The guitarist is one of your guys Steve Stevens out of New York. The interesting thing about Billy is away from performing, he's actually quite a humble person.
Adam Sandler talked about meeting him on The Wedding Singer, and all he did was talk about his kids. And now he's got a granddaughter and does a lot of videos with her, a doting grandfather.
@@Wankshaftsbury Yes, they've been together for decades now, and have never really stopped touring. They're a great team. They're still touring now, just on a break as Billy had to get a throat procedure. All reports are they still totally kick ass.
He plays some kick-ass flamenco-style guitar on the Juno Reactor track Pistolero. It's a techno song, but don't let that fool ya. It rocks.
They were together before in generation X, before Billy just went Billy on the world, Steve Stevens is underrated also played the them song to Top Gun the OG..
I was in high school when this came out and it still doesn’t get old for me, probably my favourite artist if all time, they don’t make ‘em like this anymore.
@@wadew3623 And how great was he with Michael Jackson on Dirty Diana? 😱
Real name is William Broad. He chose the name Billy Idol because a high school teacher once said in a report, Billy is idle in class. Billy thought it was a cool name, Billy Idle as a punk name, but went with Billy Idol.
Steve Stevens, guitarist, is a grammy winner for soundtrack to Top Gun. A few concerts Steve Stevens couldn't make, it takes 2-3 guitarists to play what Steve can do by himself.
I was obsessed with Billy idol when I was a teenager. He made me feel all the things. And Steve Stevens on guitar... I always thought he was underrated because he is brilliant.
Billy and Steve together is just magic...
I'm 68 and still love this song. Never gets old . Good songs stand the test of time.
The bridge is the best!!
"I walked the world for you, babe
A thousand miles for you
I dried your tears, of pain, babe
A million times, for you"
Steve Stephens (guitar) said they wrote in about 18 bars of a bridge in songs they knew were gonna be club hits so DJ's can do their mixes. 🔥
Always forget how badass Billy was and is… at like 75 or whatever still a badass.. rebel yell is a classic
Eyes Without A Face is fantastic by Billy
As a guitarist for 36 years now I was always baffled by the sound he was getting in the guitar solo until seeing and interview with Steve..turns out he used a toy ray gun next to the pickups to get that effect. He didn't have it in this video because they are lip syncing to the original track.
It's a made for TV video!
William Broad is his name.
One of his teachers wrote a note to his parents saying Billy is idle, and he turned it around into Idol for his stage name
Billy idol is fire 🔥 he is one artist that doesn't disapoint i love his story telling ability and passion for music you guys need to do his hot in the city or his mony mony the official live version
Billy Idol still puts on great shows, voice hasn’t skipped a beat.
Eyes Without a Face needs to be next! : - )
Stevie Stevens is one of the best guitarists that is not really acknowledged except for in the music industry. You didn’t hear his name come up to much until his work with Billy Idol but he went on to play different songs with a lot of massive artists as well. Fantastic. Billy Idol is such a great singer as well.
Billy Is great in concert!! Dancing with myself, white wedding, and so many more!!
it's a miracle he's still alive
Come on check out Billy Idol, Got to be a lover, IF YOU DARE!
Billy Idol has been a well documented fitness fanatic for at least 20 years. He takes his job seriously, he is a rarity these days. A consummate professional.
Fantastic song from beginning to end and the energy, incredible.
That seductive voice made him my very first crush when I was 11 😂
One of his school teachers called him "idle" and that he was lazy...so he called himself Billy Idol.
What a combination Billy Idols deep bluesy voice, with new wave/new music influence and crushing metal tones on Steve Stevens guitar playing.
"Flesh for Fantasy"!!!
Saw him 6 years ago at the Paramount. He incredibly sounds EXACTLY the same, as does Stevens. They tore the place up.
Actually, if you listen to some of his slower songs, his vocals are really excellent! He's got an incredible voice, separate from his screams...which are also great :-)
Now we need Mony Mony to round out the trio. Then you'll be three for three. Cheers from Canada :)
Steve Steven's solo on Vince Neil's "Look in Her Eyes" is epic!
Steve Stevens is his guitar player, notice that hairstyle.... he has a song Atomic Playboys.... in the future "Flesh for Fantasy _Idol live, the bass intro guys
Steve Stevens is one of my favorite guitarists.
Cradle of love buy him is fire
The "Rebel Yell" was a Confederate army cry.
That shit is poison (the booze).
Billy is the definition of a frontman/ rockstar.
Guitar player is Steve Stevens.
Great player and so much SWAG.
Your first point......and? Who gives a fuck?

Not be rude. Fuck off.
@@robertasirgutz8800 I choose to do both....if the comment warrants it....especially those that hint at conspiracy. Live in the real world mate.
@@stevemurrell6167 Curious, Steve. "Conspiracy" in what sense?
Vaxxers, Anti-vaxxers? Help
@@robertasirgutz8800 Mate, I got the comments I was replying to mixed up. Ignore the conspiracy comment, it was not relevant.....apologies.
The guitar guy is Stephen Stevens world renowned!!! 🌈☝️✝️☝️🌈
The laser gun sound is created by holding a toy laser gun (modified with a speed control knob so it matches the tempo he wants) against the magnetic pickups up the guitar, in real live shows you would have seen the laser gun.
That came later though, didn't it? I recall hearing that he was doing that long before he actually figured out that he could use the toy...
@@ChrisB-xm3mg May be right, some gear guy with no proof said he used a Lexicon PCM-41 digital delay in the studio and on early live performances of the song. Sounds credible, but i think it is more of a good guess than fact. Who knows?
@@awezman Steve is pretty active on Facebook. I bet if I asked he might tell me...
Billy can move with the best of them. Mony Mony and Eyes 👀 Without a Face two pretty songs worth a listen. The name Billy Idol was inspired by a school teachers description of him as IDLE. The introduction of MTV IN THE 80'S helped to launch the emergence of Billy Idol.
Fun fact Steve Stevens had a bought a toy ray gun 🔫 from Japan to make that cool whammy sound.
Billy is among the new gods of Rock n' Roll!!!! "Flesh For Fantasy" is also great too!!!! And I can't believe he walked out on a Billy Idol concert!!! Big Big Mistake...well he is on tour in the States so maybe you get a chance to see before he crokes!!!! lol
He is believable as a ROCK star.
He has the attitude and it matches the songs and performances
Billy Idols real name is William Michael Albert Broad.
My mom surprised me with tickets to go see journey and billy idol on April 5 in LA too see them perform. At the staples center arena
Have a great time! 🎟

Billy Idol is William Broad. His guitarist Steve Stevens also played with Motley Crue singer Vince Neil's solo project, did the guitar solo for Michael Jackson's hit Dirty Diana and had his own band Steve Stevens & The Atomic Playboys.
The Rebel Yell line was inspired by Billy seeing a bottle of Rebel Yell Whiskey at the bar at one of Mick Jagger's house parties back in the day.
And, that the More, More, More, came from fisting a woman who kept saying that!!
@@greg12145 sure
@@awezman It was from an interview decades ago from Billy, when he divulged that! Maybe he was making a story up... but it doth makes sense to me, considering his lifestyle (rockstar)!!
She said, "More, More, More"! While he fisted her... in his own Words!
If you watch Billy's VH-1 Storytellers concert he tell the story about being at Keith Richards birthday party and seeing The Stones tipping up a bottle with a Confederate soldier on it. It was Rebel Yell bourbon from the U.S. He asked them if they had it specially made for them & if they owned the rights to the name. When they said no he told them Rebel Yell would be the name of his next record.
When he performs you can see that he really enjoys it.
Steve Stevens has played with many other artists and started as a studio musician. He is fantastic!
This is a totally directed video and is not live.
Listened to billy idol in the early 80's in high school at 13
Oh by the way in those days was Walkman and cassettes
This huge YELL was played throughout the entire 80s...
The guitarist is Steve Stevens and he also played on the top gun theme. He is considered one o the greatest guitarists of his generation
One of those older songs that never will get old
Guitarist is steve Stevens who also did the theme to the top gun film
Britain's finest, Billy Idol, Rebel Yell was inspired by the rolling stones, Billy saw them drinking Rebel Yell and decided to make a song about it. The audience for this video were shipped in from New Jersey, the video nearly missed its MTV slot because in the original video it showed a teen in the audience drinking from a can of beer. Peace from England 🇫🇴
Billy is from Australia.
@@brucemarshall9521 OK? If London is in Australia then you're right lol...
I think I read somewhere Billy was from Australia. I'll check into it. I do know he is now a bona fide American citizen. That was in the news a couple years back.
Havoc 616......I stand corrected. Billy is from England. Now if I can just remember who I got him mixed up with. Rock on and have a great day. 🤘
@@brucemarshall9521 Aussies always looking for a crumb of recognition like with the Bee Gees. , you have Kylie be grateful and STFU. 🤣🤣
STEVE STEVENS... highly overlooked.... great player.
Always liked and listened to Billy in the 80s….white wedding and Rebel yell still played a lot today on radio. He was hilarious in the small part he played in the movie the Wedding singer.
Back when I was in highschool when this came out, Billy Idol was KING!!!
Rebel yell,One of the most Billy Idol's Song. And Billy Idol, Simply THE BEST....
Had the fortune pleasure of growing up in the '80s and have seen Billy Idol a few times. Epic. One of my absolute favorite songs
Who Dey!!! Just won 1st playoff game since 1991
-The ladies were crying for MORE MORE MORE from Billy. He has great vocals, looks, sex appeal , energy . Women And men love Billy - Don't like Billy ??
long live the 80's!!!
Fuck Yeah!👍
Love Billy Idol and his band 👏🏻🎤🎸❤️🔥‼️
Steve Stevens the guitarist played on MJ’s Dirty Diana and he played the guitar in the Top Gun Anthem. Billy is a cross of Elvis (his idol) and hard rock. He started in Punk rock with the group Generation X. This song was also inspired by the story of Sid and Nancy
Saw Billy and Steve at the Ryman Nov 30 2022,,They still bring the house down!
Apparently he's touring at the moment his daughter bonnie blue has a little girl called poppy rebel and there are lots of pics and videos of Billy with his granddaughter.have you seen the 1992 film wedding singer?Robbie, a wedding singer, meets Julia, a waitress, at a reception and the two hit it off. He soon learns that she is engaged to another man, who treats her like garbage, and must stop their wedding.adam Sandler is Robbie and drew Barrymore is julia.it's set in the 80's and has a cameo from Billy at the end.
Do 'eyes without a face.' and ' flesh for fantasy.' by Billy!!
Love this song! It was in Sixteen Candles movie too. Check out Billy Idol’s….Rock the Cradle of Love….another good one!
One of my favorite whiskey’s
Love Billy!
Steve Stevens played guitar on Dirty Diana too
I saw him do this in a university club about the size of the venue in this video, just as he was breaking through in North America. What a great show and band. Steve Stevens is maybe rock's most underrated guitarist.
Let’s hear some Mony Mony live!!!!!
FLESH FOR FANTASY is my favorite.
Hands down and spiked hair up this is my absolute favorite Billy Idol song right next to Eyes Without a Face. He has some awesome songs.
When Steve Steven's is the guitarist, the solo absolutely does have to be that good. Years before I knew what a great guitar player was, I loved Steve for his stage presence and ability to pull sounds out of his guitar that I had never heard before. He is still one of my favourite players. And he's always interacting with his fans online too.
He pushes this song over the edge. Love Steve Stevens.
His solo on Vince Neil's "Look in Her Eyes" is epic.
I'm giving you a rebel yell for this reaction!
If you watch The Wedding Singer, he does a hilarious cameo where he gives some advice to the main character. Also, he started off in the punk scene with the group of kids that also spurred Siouxsie and the Banshees.
Mony Mony is great fun
Missing all that raw 80s masculine energy which has all but disappeared in mainstream music and male performers today. And then he’d go and tone it all down with songs like Eyes Without a Face - which is an equally awesome track.
The 80's was very liberal
Nice pick.. he's a beast
Legend... total rocker!
Classic !
The guitarist did a song with Micheal Jackson. Dirty Diana. He is good
Billy Idol was the frontman for a punk band called Generation X
Great reaction 🎉
This video is iconic
He was actually in the Wedding Singer movie and so were his songs with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore.
BLUE HIGHWAY
Don't forget Dire straights Sultans of swing!....Alchemey live!
guitar guy: steve stevens --- he is, indeed, fire
It’s a bigger banger than White Wedding Billy grits/yells the vocals a lot more vs just at the ending for White Wedding
He did a really fantastic album in the early 90s called Charmed Life after an almost fatal car crash. If you guys have not heard his song Pumping on Steel, or The Loveless...give it a listen. It is excellent music while driving.
"Flesh for Fantasy". Sexy, complex song.
Hello. My name is Kaleem. The guitarist's name is Steve Stevens.
I love this banger of a song. Whenever I hear it I want MORE! MORE! MORE ! WOOOOOOOW.
I saw your reaction video for White Wedding earlier and recommended Eyes Without A Face. It's a different side of Billy Idol, and I think you guys would like it because you go on different tangents with your music choices which is brilliant and this is a very interesting song from Billy Idol. Happy New Year guys and best wishes always.
Straight up 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤
That's right...have that pause hand ready
Pure LEGACY!
The drink rebel yell makes you act a fool.
Check out "Mony Mony" for energy...
"Sweet Sixteen" for vocals and his new "Bitter Taste" for deeper lyrics
Steve stevens also played guitar on Michael Jackson's dirty diana music video
I’ve seen him numerous times … lived hard and partied hard ! He is amazing!
Look into Steve Stevens solo play Atomic Playboys…..the title cut first…..the singer on it is Parramore McCarty of Warrior. Amazing!
Great song! My brother got to see him in concert in the 80's at Astroworld!
