Couple things: 1. Love when you incorporate aboriginal knowledge into ur videos 2. Respect for paying for the drone permit 3. These videos are continually getting more and more polished, this one was an eye opener 4. Love ur humble vibes That’s a 10 from me mate, keep it up!
Mate with all the stress of being a current day Australian, when my mind is melting and it seems like there’s no light at the end of the tunnel, your videos take me to my happy place & soothe my soul. Your content & production is going to another level, keep it up!
I have a lot of respect for you and what you do. My first instinct probably would have been to eat those trout but the fact that you went for the catch and release humbled me. Your respect for nature is a beautiful thing. I saw another video when you went to Uluru and took the hike around it instead of climbing up it, respecting the aboriginal peoples request. You give me hope that humanity is not as horrible as I sometimes fear it is. Carry on brother.
I mean, trout are not a native species, they have destroyed native fish and small fauna populations everywhere they have been introduced just like carp and tilapia, but unlike these fellow pests, continue to be supported due to some human value that is placed upon them, trout have no right to be respected as if they belong in our waterways, just like all other feral pests
Hey mate, absolutely addicted to your content and can't get enough of it! Just curious if you have ever considered making a video on how you plan and prepare for your trips? How do you choose your spot, what you pack depending on location and stuff like that.
I’d like to see this too. I have no clue how to plan a wild camp, only normal trail hike in campsites. Scotty contributed to a good article on this topic recently, but a video of an example (I.e. his next trip) would be great.
Definitely the best Aussie UA-camr that takes us to all the best places ever. What a privilege to visit these landscapes. Great to see a few fish on! Tight lines buddy, tight lines! Cheers!
I have been watching since you started, but I have to say the quality of your videos has improved so much. I love the editing, camera work and the music choices. When I have had a rough day, I sit back and watch a video or two and it calms me down and helps me remember how beautiful the "real" world really is. Cheers Scotty.
You took me to my happy place with this one Scotty..your content and camera work is so on point and i thank you for taking us the veiwers there on your journey.Cheers.
Loving the new video so far, mate. You’re right about the Salami - look for ‘Dry cured’ on the packaging. Usually in small but noticeable print somewhere on the back. It can be really hit n miss finding the stuff at woolies etc. I’ve taken the refrigerator versions with me though, hasn’t seemed an issue for a few days out bush. Anyway, back to the video!
Brilliant Scotty. Mate in the small streams a smaller 3wt rod 7 to 8 foot rod with a 3 pound tippet is a lot less spooky to the fish. Royal Wolff or Adams dry in size 14 , 16. Nymphs brown size 12,16. Be stealthy.
Scotty thanks for going through the back pain to grab the drone shots, absolutely magnificent. We are so blessed in this country for what is on offer. Top marks for showing how wonderful our bush is and worth giving it the care and respect she deserves. Thanks for keeping in mind the original deadly mob and respectfully including first nation items.
Thank you for the beautiful pictures and the drone footage of the waterfalls. Epic. Fly fishing with the backpack and catching a monster trout, shows how "pro" you became. ‘Dry cured’ salami and speck will last for quite a few days without refrigeration. Just pack it in a paper, not in plastic.
Spectacular landscape! It is so inspiring that you pushed on through some tough terrain with such a sore back! Kudos! Love your work, Scotty! Fantastic filming and editing!
As if it couldn't get any better, but Scotty flyfishing has just topped the lot. Throwing some nice loops in some tight country too. Looking good mate.
Scotty your videos are amazing. As someone who loves filmmaking and outdoors adventuring I can't get enough of your videos. Being an ozzie living overseas your videos help give me a reminder of my homeland as well. Cheers for the vids mate
The waterfalls are amazing. I am an avid outdoorsman in US. I never see the similar scenery here. Another episode impressing me is canyon river canoeing and fishing where tall mountains surround the river. You really lead us to AU rich diversified back country places. Your videography is very pleasant to watch. I will join patreon.
Enjoyed the presentation, the sheer beauty of the wilderness is spectacular, your desire for a great adventure and presentation is great, keep it up .cheers petri.
Totally agree! Some of the transition effects he employed near the end of the intro, with sound effects too...was so creative! And all those beautiful waterfall shots ... sublime!
The production quality of your vidoes is going through the roof Scotty. Congrats on another fantastic adventure. For me this one is next level and probably your best so far.
The music lulls you into that sense of being there in the midst of the activity with Scotty. Brilliant drone shots mate and I agree with sitting in those pools on a bright summers day. Awesome adventure this one thanks for sharing the journey. Bushyboy Oz.
You're spot on about the scar tree, there's no natural explanation for that and the age is right, 1-200 years by the size & regrowth. The salami you want is direct from the deli counter, the sort they normally have hanging up unwrapped. The salami in plastic has too much moisture trapped in it, you don't want it getting sweaty in your pack. You could also try taking it frozen the day you leave. Pan fried salami with veg, cheese & toasted bread is awesome 👍 Your videography is just stunning mate... That trout in the net, beautiful...
Nice one Scotty, so peaceful. Hats off to you on the fishing, I wish I could fish like you! Carrying all that gear and all the effort to produce this - magic and thank you 😊
Well done Scotty, I remember some time back I suggested that you take up fly fishing and I'm sure you thought I was out order, but look at you know, keep up the good work and many tight lines, from an old timer.
Absolutely love your vid’s! Can’t stop watching 😌 hope you never stop exploring the beautiful Australian Bush and everything our homeland has to offer 🤍 So inspired. Ps. Love your music taste, I hope you never stop creating these gorgeous videos
Hiked the MD a bit further downstream a few years back. 3 days of steep gorge walking through spectacular wilderness. Stunning country. Inspired to get back there now. Thankyou
Wow, just beautiful content, I love it! Congrats on your first trout on fly, I hope you’ve got the bug now. For me it turned into an amazing life long obsession, I hope you get the same joy out of it. :)
Just a tip when walking thru the bush hold the rod by the grip with the tip behind you so a stumble or fall does not put the rod tip into the ground and break it. Fish on Tight Lines! 😁
I am very jealous of you Scotty, allowed out and about during lockdown while so many of us are still in lockdown and you are just rubbing our noses in it.
Hey Scotty, I understand that back pain mate. Got a herniated disc myself and I've had to drag myself to the shitter a few times in my life. Back pain can really really be limiting, and this is a bit of an inspiration to actually get out and see country a bit more myself. I have the draw to go out and I really need to do it. Thanks mate, keep it up. Much respect from Brisbane.
Definite scar tree!! I've seen them before - always at hand working height, near water - you can tell by how overgrown the sides of the scar are is that it is the real deal - good one!
1 of your best videos to date Scotty and look at you now, fly fishing and catching fish, i still remember you catching nothing a few years back...Always great to watch your videos mate...Loved the waterfall and all your drone shots :-) Keep them coming :-)
a trick to fly fishing....match the hatch. look under the rocks along the stream and see what larva are hatching. Then match that fly and always throw it up stream and let it float down stream till the fish hits it. then its on....good luck !
What a beautiful location and awesome video as always Scotty. Keep some tension on that line mate and next you need to get onto some native wild Aussie bass in some skinny waters further north! I'll take you out if you come up to the North Coast when you're allowed
Another great video. Way to go Scotty. You've come a long ways. Unlike other tarp setups you've done the one you did on day 2 in this video is the best. I'd like to try that. I've never bivied before either. It's October and the winter rain has started in Seattle, and in the mountains. It's going to be a long wait for Spring. If America is still a country by Spring I plan on hiking and shooting video. Future prospects do not look good right now for America. Keep going out there Scotty. Do it while you can. Cheers!
Bloody awesome Scotty what an amazing waterfall and a really nice trout filled river what more does one need not much ,and people say to me why not go overseas ,I say why we have everything here that you can find overseas without the crowds, keep them coming mate
Do a 1min plank everyday. It helps to strengthen the core and lower back. I had lower back pain after unloading containerships. But now I can actually sleep at night
Great stuff mate and thanks for getting me into backpacking adventures , you are a natural fly fisherman it seams. I love my fly fishing . Keep up the vids man .
Hey brother LOVE your content Wiradjuri man here that is for sure a scar, a coolamon or a shield depending where you are? if you ever in Wiradjuri country again I'd love to take you on a fish and corroboree and didgeridoo lessons and show some unmarked artefacts and paintings take you for a real walkabout go hunting and eat off the land also love that you include what country your on , i love it keep doing good things man
Couple things:
1. Love when you incorporate aboriginal knowledge into ur videos
2. Respect for paying for the drone permit
3. These videos are continually getting more and more polished, this one was an eye opener
4. Love ur humble vibes

Mate, look at you. A few years ago you were a novice fisherman and now you’re fly fishing… nice work legend 🤙
Trout on fly from a back pack!! Lvl 20 ranger lol!
I’d love to hike around this waterfalls. What is the river?
Mate with all the stress of being a current day Australian, when my mind is melting and it seems like there’s no light at the end of the tunnel, your videos take me to my happy place & soothe my soul.
Your content & production is going to another level, keep it up!
Tell me about it... so agree

Scotty, you should have climbed up the rock.
Promoting this beautiful land of ours is something I think you were born to do
Love your style, great video Scotty!
Colab! Boarders are open!
Lol Canada to Australia what a crazy thought
omg the colab we all need
Hey mate, absolutely addicted to your content and can't get enough of it!
Just curious if you have ever considered making a video on how you plan and prepare for your trips? How do you choose your spot, what you pack depending on location and stuff like that.
This is a great idea, would love to know what goes on behind the scenes!
Agreed, I always think I’m going the long way in terms of finding a place
I’d like to see this too. I have no clue how to plan a wild camp, only normal trail hike in campsites. Scotty contributed to a good article on this topic recently, but a video of an example (I.e. his next trip) would be great.

Loved the country, waterfalls, fishing, tarp camping, echidna and lyrebird feather at the end. Epic trip and tremendous drone footage.
That is an epic waterfall. It always surprises me how loud they are.
Thank you for the beautiful pictures and the drone footage of the waterfalls. Epic. Fly fishing with the backpack and catching a monster trout, shows how "pro" you became.

What a load of rubbish. “Poor Scotty”
Love the waterfalls! Great spot that no one knows of. Very beautiful place! Off the beaten track!

It’s unreal to see how far you’ve come mate, so good! And to have Pat’s music in your videos takes it to the pinnacle!
The music lulls you into that sense of being there in the midst of the activity with Scotty. Brilliant drone shots mate and I agree with sitting in those pools on a bright summers day. Awesome adventure this one thanks for sharing the journey. Bushyboy Oz.
Outstanding viewing. The B Roll, drone work and editing would make anyone stay till the end. Nice Rainbows as a bonus
What an amazing location... the no.1 highlight of trout fishing is doing it in these locations
Hi, I'm a pensioner in the UK and I'm really enjoying your videos. Thanks.
Love the humbleness of being new at something but the dedication to learn.
You have a great way of capturing the awesome scenery. Love every part of it.
You're spot on about the scar tree, there's no natural explanation for that and the age is right, 1-200 years by the size & regrowth.

Of all the beautiful places you have taken us to, this is my favorite, by far. Thank you!
Absolutely EPIC spot at those waterfalls and you're right, would be so so good in summer! Happy days!
If I had a sore back I’d be in those cold waterfall pools so fast. Nature’s anti inflammatory

So, you have a helper? I didn’t recognize that guy with the baseball hat….
Awesome mate!
Bryan from Vancouver
Loved it - your best one yet! Also loved that it was nice and long. No better way to spend an hour!
Just a tip when walking thru the bush hold the rod by the grip with the tip behind you so a stumble or fall does not put the rod tip into the ground and break it. Fish on Tight Lines! 😁
I love your videos and your honesty and positivity is really refreshing.
Nice one Scotty! Great vid as usual. Very happy to see you land some beautiful rainbows. Tight lines!!
I am very jealous of you Scotty, allowed out and about during lockdown while so many of us are still in lockdown and you are just rubbing our noses in it.
